Very nice. I always struggle with oil painting. One query, why did you apply burnt sienna first! And do you wait till the color dries for next coat! or is it wet on wet.
Thank you for commenting! Burnt Sienna or any warm earth color provides a warm base to the upper layers as our world is warm (even in the cooler conditions) and being a neutral tone, sets the path to future darks or lighter colors. This base is also seen through upper layers and provides a unified overall structure. These are finished pieces, so I wait for the layers to dry. I work almost the same way for plein air except the fact that those are done alla prima.

Fantastic work. Your clouds are stunning. I didn't realise until halfway through that I'd actually been to the spot you were painting in 2008.

Can this painting be created with acrylic?. Will the result turn out same??
Almost similar but acrylic is a different medium. So it will have acrylic's qualities.
