The so called new owners of the durian lands in Raub are like the P.Ramli movie- the bandits of the jungles (Ali Baba Bujang Lapok and the famous song). The Raub durian lands were originally planted with rubber trees by the poor farmers who were encouraged and permitted to cultivate the land -jungles in the 1940s and 1950s before and during the WW2.
