Phew! I was about to get reeeeally angry, but fortunately you appreciate that´s a 1800 years-old artifact and you made a cast copy!
Really cool work!
Thanks!
One of the things I like about you, Skyler, is your attitude. Instead of getting angry and throwing the broken coin across your shop, you think about your options and then just go with it. Great God-honoring solution to a bummer of a circumstance. It's fun to see you trying new things and expanding your offerings. Keep up the great work, my friend!
Thanks!
Stuff happens & You did a great job fixing what we all get, obstacles.
It's really a privilege to watch you grow as a jeweler and a craftsman. All these skills you are trying, and learning, I, for one, appreciate you sharing your journey with us. I find your videos very inspiring. Please don't stop pressing forward, and trying new things. Thank you for all the effort you put into making these videos.
Thanks for your kind words!
I love to see that you've taken your skill to a whole new level! I will have one of your rings some day. History was not destroyed, just adapted.
I always enjoy watching/learning, particularly as your styles expand and you branch out. The coin rings got me coming back. And I am delighted that we can celebrate His resurrection.
Thanks!
I miss making jewelry. I took it in high school we had a centrifugal caster it was fun
There's some serious spooky elements- no pun intended- at work there. I think I'll stick to more recent coins for my jewelry! Joking aside..good on ya for attempting the piece!
Wow that’s looks great , Cool looking ring 🦹♂️👌
Great video, Skyler. Keeping all the problems and challenges intact is what makes this so much more interesting. We learn through your challenges as well. And Happy Easter. He IS risen.
Thanks for that!
wow love your work inspiring me to keep learning and pushing further with my designs, took me a while but so happy that i found your channel
Awesome job on the Roman ring it looks great..
Ancient Rome metalurgy. Lots of impurities in the silver.
Simply put, AWESOME!
A very beautiful peace of art :)
Really great job!
I would really watch a video about your jeweler-workbench, it looks pretty handy!
Imperfectly perfect👍
This was an amazing video. I loved that you crafted this using different techniques. The casting looks fun and the lost cast waxing makes a lot of designs come to life.
It was awesome that Dave assisted in the making of this video with some cool tools of the trade! Pepe tools rock! Thanks for sharing these awesome videos as always great content! Definitely something to aspire to and more to learn in this beautiful skill..
I always appreciate your kind words :) I noticed pepe shared one of your videos in their story the other day. That was way cool!
I love all that u do!!
Great video and i'm glad you left in the parts that didn't go as expected. Thank you for being willing to share your love of Jesus as well!

@@CoinRingsfromTheMint can I find used reducing dies somewhere 🤔
Very cool.
your videos are getting better and better
Thanks I really appreciate that!
Love it
It is really cool.......
you are genius bro I like it
Dude that turned out really good bro. That really sucks that it broke though. Great video also man.
21:02 absolutely no one
Me: Very nice!
Your videos are better and better👍. A pleasure to watch.
What type of flux do you use in spray? I am using regular borax, but like the idea of spray application.
It is called firescoff It is really cool stuff and works really well.
I also like the signet rings ! I believe it’s fitting more for a guy . I’ve made a few out of bronze and is there a way to keep them from discoloring your finger without using nail polish ? Do you use glue to hold flush mounted stones ?
Bronze will always discolor unfortunately. No glue is used when stone setting. Check out my flush stone setting vid :)
@@CoinRingsfromTheMint figured you have a video on that ! Lol
Nice work! What’s the brand name of the Remo used 6:00 and the name of the rotary drill tool used in 8:00?
It’s a Matt wax reamer and a foredom flex shaft.
I was pretty annoyed when u broke the coin xD but you redeemed yourself by making it into a great ring to still continue being treasure.
Hey Skylar do u sell ur jewelry? And do u take requests on what a person wants. I just now found your channel and I'd like to have a ring or 2, maybe out of a $1 coin or 50 cent piece. Thanks for the wonderful work u do
Sure! Contact me through my website www.changeyoucanwear.net.
Can you explain the antiquing process please
Here is an older vid. It should help you out. ua-cam.com/video/pvpdp4ZBe94/v-deo.html
Una lastima siempre puede pasar ...saludos desde argentina 💪👨🏻🏭
What is under you coin when you anneal it?
Thanks
You can use an annealing block. I have a special fire panel but that is way overkill..
It may be beneficial to explain how you came to acquire this piece. We call this the “provenance” of an artifact. The illicit trade of artifacts is a huge problem in archaeology that those in the field try to discourage.
Luckily coins are common and you can get them at any coin shop.
Really cool, Happy Resurrection Sunday!
where did you get your scope?
A and a jewelry supply.
@@CoinRingsfromTheMint lol I actually just got to the part where you said that🙈
you did an amazing job👊 it looks insain!
And it will be still of a one strike or stroke struck.once coin face.yet 1800s.
Was is in the pickle pot to clean the rings sorry I'm still learning here
It is citric acid pickle from nature's touch.
shame on you about the old coin... but ok :)... regarding Pepe tools and A and A Jewelry supply, great guys and, you deserve it... hug from lisbon, portugal, EU
Haha thanks!
Why !!!
A PEPE out of spain????..didnt see that one comming...😁
the auto focus / aperture/ exposure changing all the time made it a little bit hard to watch (for me) maybe try to find a manual setting and set it to fixed values ?
Too bad about the ring. Next time, for you favorite original, make a 1mm blank of the same size and shape. Press that into the sand mold, then lay your original on top with a small bead of wax to keep it from slipping. Ram your sand on the second half and you're good to go!
holy fuck you destroyed that coin, such a shame
VERY nice ...a bit monolithic (just for men:-(....
Gotta wear your face shield apparently
Why would you do this to such an old piece of history, you could have just put it on a necklace with a frame that allows you to see both sides of the coin. But, it is yours so you can do whatever you want to. I'm just saying it would have looked much better on a necklace and would have preserved the entirety of the coin.
Edit: oh no, I'm an assumptious idiot. I'm glad you made a copy of the coin instead of destroy it. Even if it is in pieces now, at least you can frame it back together and put it on your wall
Haha no worries! I was really upset when it broke. I had no idea they could be so brittle.
Interesting but I would its vandalism. To turn something of such historic value into a ring.
