Zero construction skills. Going to the Trade Orientation class soon. Any advise? After your Orientation class what was the timeframe they called you back for a job? Do they give you time to put your 2 week notice at current job? Or want you to start immediately?
Really curious bc my current job im on Graveyard. So i need all the time I can get to switch back to day shift hrs.
Honestly I wouldn’t be the right guy to answer that. I had a job lined up for me when I git in. I got sponsored in by a superintendent I knew for years and I had previous construction experience. I’ve only worked for this one company as well since i got in.

@@kamenhall yeah it was easier than I thought. But i missed a few points. I was on graveyard so had to go right after work.
1st was the math test (miss placed some decimals). Got 5 wrong.
2ns nail in 10 nails in 60 seconds. Only got 6.
3rd 10 screws in 60 seconds. Without that cover support for the screws.
4th climb 4 laders and raise your hands above your head.
5th climb a scaffold pull up a bag 5 times over the rail set it down and lower it back.
6th carry stacks of 2x4s 5 or 6 stacks and stack them neatly.
7th carry 4x8 and set them down on another table 5 times.
8th measuring test. 20 in 90 seconds. I only got 12 done. Missed 6 lol.
