BJ - Just bought a brand new (1 mile!) 2023 KLR650 Adventure this weekend. Looking forward to circumnavigating Lake Superior next summer. Hopefully with a new bike it won't leave me stranded like the CB750 did before the open house...I'll be reviewing about a zillion videos of folks pack outs in preparation. I've never moto camped before but am super excited to start the adventure.
You’ll definitely have more seat time on the KLR than all the Starbucks BMW GS owners, who will be picking up their bikes all weekend. You should check out the Adventure Rider Radio podcast if you haven’t already. Good stuff! In fact, there was an episode a couple months back about a guy using a KLR for his ADV bike. I think the title had something to do with Millennials riding ADV.

Awesome! You will love it! Adventure biking is the most fun as you have no real limits and the challenges are rewarding
Be sure to tie the rear straps through the spokes. Adds overall stability to the rear end.
Thats what I have heard! Ill give it a try!

Hahaha as I said like any noob it is my job to overpack lol. My buddies and I are having fun getting ready for this
Do you know what model saddlebags those are?
Some sort of Nelson rigg bag.
Might want to put everything in plastic bags just in case you dump it in a creek
That sounds like solid advice. Past experience with that? 😬
Tha had to be a 10mm socket.
It means a lot that somebody FINALLY pointed out that little skit. Only 2 years after I did it lol. Thank ya!
