Great video got more good ideas I keep improving my klr thanks to you and Mason. To spread the wate out my first aid kit and tools tubs on front bars like Mason. Still need a beer out of the cooler and fishing gear.
I really need a tool tube. I have an old gun cleaning bag that I use now, but I need to add tire irons and a compressor of some kind. Mason is a goldmine for great ideas. If you look close at his bike you can find all sorts of little great ideas.
Thanks! I'll likely tweak it a bit more. It's hard making the bike so heavy with gear and stuff. Once I I get so much on there, I end up passing up cool trails that a lighter loadout could tackle.
Looks like ‘foxy’ is all set and ready to go. Still got a week or two yet here in MB to get rid of our snow. Paved roads are getting near rideable tho. Thanks for sharing !
Yeah brother. I did the oil yesterday and took it up the road for a rip. It was running great. Still too much sand and salt here for a full ride, but I've a couple more garage projects to keep me occupied.
Loving that you've got the new kit and space to put it on the bike. I'm going to be doing a similar video (recording this week) with everything that I'm going to need on my big trip around Oz.
That’s one good looking bike. Wish mine was all black. (2nd gen… green/silver/black). I need to mess with my rear suspension. Gonna be riding 2 up here soon. I’m… 205lbs… she’s… maybe 120lb.. ish.. lol.
Just crank that preload nut up a couple sections and that should do it. Me and Mrs. Dowski have the same plans. I see a few rips up to the beach in our summer plans.
Wow, can't imagine carrying that much weight but for multi day rides, not much choice. Definitely easier just to hit a no tell motel on route so you aren't carrying sleeping bags, tents, etc. Maybe the money saved in gas makes up for the extra cost of a room ;)
Looks awesome! You've gained alot of cargo space. It's so much fun to load and prep, I think your test rides will offer answers too. Come on spring!! The rear spring will be my next upgrade for longer travels, but stock is good enough for me for now. Cool vid, cheers brother!
I'm so hoping to get out for a ride in the next couple of weeks. I really want to test the suspension settings for sure and just see if there are any gremlins. It should be fine though I think. Cheers buddy. Happy Friday.
Regarding the pegs, I used the Tusk foot pegs (they are wide and comfy) coupled with the JNS foot peg lowering brackets was an awesome combination for me...I really did add a few farkles when I had the KLR. The rear spring upgrade was another good move on my part.
Your KLR was a wicked ADV build. The Tiger is even better. I'm building up my trail rider variant this weekend with the new pegs and I think I'll leave the new IMS ones on to see about the long term comfort. But next winter I'll be doing a full front and rear suspension upgrade for sure.
@@IslandADV my 2018 is stock and if you ask people what is the best upgrade you 20 different answers..I'm thinking just a spring upgrade would do good for me.

Your both have nice klrs I have watched all of both videos
Nice set up buddy !

Oh awesome! I'll be sure to watch that brother. You've got a great loadout going there on the AT.
@@IslandADV I just need to pare it down a little. 😊

It would save gas, but I love taking this bike into the woods for a good camp out. It's like my all time favorite thing to do with the KLR.

Another great video. lots of good ideas. What riggs tank bag do you have?
Thanks man. That is a Nelson Rigg, Trails End Tank bag.
Just discovered channel and subscribed today. Good stuff! Would you mind telling me what crash bars you installed?
Thanks brother. Glad to have you along for the ride. The crash bars are SW Motech. I love them, and I've made good use of them too, lol.

@@IslandADV A full suspension upgrade will be sweet!! The KLR was setup for a 165lb human....ridiculous.
What kind of tires are you using?
I've got Shinko 804 on the front and a Shinko 805 on the rear. I love them.
Are you still running stock suspension?
I am for now. That will be next winter's big project though.
