I'm using the 14 litre per side version with a 10 litre Rhinowalk tail bag and my tent strapped across the top. I come from a long history of ultralight backpacking so, 38 litres is more than enough space for me. My smaller saddlebags are holding up very well but, of course since they are smaller they carry less weight. I would happily buy them again if they were lost or stolen.

Frank! This is one of your best reviews! Glad you like having the tarp with you! I have the larger Rinowalk bags and they are great but at 48 liters per side, they are a little too large. I Abe getting the smaller size like you have. I like your load out of camping gear! Great job on this video!

I'm so happy I found this channel/video. I'm currently searching for ~50ltr luggage space and was looking at things like Tusk Highland X2 system. It's about ~$400 and has a few other features and is probably just a better brand/product BUT...I'm not a rich man. I can do just fine with something like this. I think you just sold a set of these.
Sub'd and liked the video. Solid review.

Great review. Just what I needed to see. I agree with you, there are not really great choices that don't cost an arm and a leg for rackless luggage. If only these had molle webbing. Another note, I have the Giant Loop Great Basin and I hate it. It's hard to pack, it carries it's weight very high and doesn't really hold all that much. Rhinowalk might find it's way on to the T7.

These order page on the website I found somewhat confusing, but I like the idea of the “pockets very much, with paying MM $1k or half that for the tusk copies that have liners that are not easy to get in and out of the pockets Accor to a couple reviews. I used the MM reckless system and it’s a 10, however I am looking for a pocket system that is lighter and less expensive. Does that describe the 21 Brothers bags? I have the RhinoWalk bags in 14L on each side. The bags themselves are far superior to the Giant Loop Mojavi bags I have in that they are larger and waterproof. Like you I suspect the quality of the straps. I’m not sure I have attached the bags to the WR250R the same twice. If there is a way I’m supposed to do it, I haven’t figured it out. I don’t camp, but carry a front tube, irons, tools, water snacks, rain gear and the other odds and ends I used to carry in a tank bag. I still have room. I don’t remember the cost of the bags but I think I got them for around $100 on an Amazon sale. As a note - I leave my Tusk pannier racks on all the time.

I have seen the smaller bags on your WR250R (Time to sell it!) and I may grab a set for my Honda. For tools and tubes.

@@OneOldManRiding I have been living with the Rhinowalk 40-60L tail bag for a few months now Frank and can report that it is definitely not waterproof. I am pretty much using it as an expandable soft topbox and it stays permanently attached to the rear rack on my BMW. The zippers appear to be unsealed and water does get inside the bag. Having said that I am still happy with the bag for how I am currently using it, but for travelling you would definitely need to use the rain cover or a waterproof bag inside of it to keep things dry.

One suggestion: pack your tent, poles, tarp, chair and rain gear in a small duffel ahead of the rear box. NONE of these need to be in a waterproof pannier - which means you can compress the side panniers more or use the smaller versions. All are handy to access in the small duffel. NONE are needed if you stay in a motel along the way.

Hello J, I have no had any melting issues. I am sure the bag shifts aournd, but nothing has melted. It's a very small heat shield. Nelson Rigg sells one almost twice as long. If I noticed it becoming a problem, I could get a different shield. Thank you for stopping by and commenting! - Frank
