SPOILER: HAVE A NICE DAY - OTHER SPOILER BELOW I attempted this already on a stream, and I'm waiting for some stock of the ESD filters to test 😁 I'll update this comment with a link in the future!
Hey Joey, When you're probing the resistors, etc, can you show us where you have connected the other probe to and show us what mode you have your meter set to please. You used to show/tell us all this stuff. But it looks like you've started presuming all your viewers already know these things, which won't help noobs to your channel/repairs. Besides, you letting us know everything you're doing and what you're using as you go is one of the main points I appreciate about your videos. That and the quality of your work. Other than that, another great vid. 👍
Great Job JDT. There sure are some hot heads who comment, who don't realize, that some people don't know all the in's and out's of UA-cam. Thank You. 😀
for those that have problems with using a standard solder sucker and cannot afford a desoldering pump, there are solder suckers out there that have a heated tip, kind of like a soldering iron and a solder sucker had a baby. No issues with needing to be speedy before the solder solidifies, nor any issues with solder sucker tips melting because of too much heat.
with that much corrosion, you really need to clean any corrosion off. And replace any component that looks even a little bit damaged. Like all those resistors and caps. They could have easily blown up that last ESD you put on.
I love watching these videos, but I always wonder why when you have a power on - stay on situation without display, why not try to use a controller to navigate the menus blind and see if you can shut it down. One would assume if the command works that the system works and thus you only have a display issue not an SSD or OS issue. Though I suppose in this instance with it already having been reset it might not have worked out that way?
Joey what can you tell me about your microscope arm, mount and the light you're using? where can I purchase them, I already have the microscope...i'm using a mount I found online w/ an articulating arm, but you're setup looks nicer...thanks!
Hey Joey, i have a question. I'm looking into getting a microscope but dont know which ones are good or not. So my question is what are you running? like the whole setup from microscope to arm? Thanks in advance if you do see this and reply!
I just repaired an Xbox One, it was a corrupted HDD that stopped from working, although I did clean the board with Isopropyl as there was some white powder on the back of the PCB..
the esd filter didn't look correctly recalled maybe? there was only two balls on one row of the chip and it should have been 3, if you go back and watch you'll see what I mean
What's wrong with Tech Class, can I guess dimmering, not orienting, the dashboard while turning on the Benz operating lights and no Tester around?! I don't know. Namastè.
you really should have taken the time to replace ALL of those damaged resistors and capacitors. Will they work as they are? maybe yes, maybe no. will there be variances that are out of spec? almost 100% yes.
A technician I follow said that if it weren't for accidents with liquid and HDMI ports, the Xbox would only appear for preventive maintenance such as changing thermal paste , etc. 😅
Just be careful if you run into a series s or a series x. With no video 90% of the time, the SSD is shot and you can't replace it. The only people that can replace. It is Microsoft at $300.
so the seller was clearly lying. Since the console was in the service center (hence the inscription NOT FIXED next to the APU), it was obvious that it was not HDMI that was the problem, but liquid damage
would not anyitems back you can sell them on just be good to see them fixed rather than just collect dust have xbox s white one with broken hdmi port and a series x black tall one with power but no picture i would give free
Once he said that the xbox is his "favorite console" my finger went "unsubscribe, dislike" its not me, my finger is a PS simp (that is what my finger calls " your mom" )
It supports a 4k *HDMI connection* , it just scales up games internally. Even then it seems some games *do* support 4k on the series s. Not to mention video streaming.
I like the fact that he tries and still releases unsuccessful attempts, we see realistic results and with each experience he / we learn more which is why I watch.
Joey, I know you have to make a living and affiliate links are a brilliant way to do so, but the amount of times you mention the flux you use and how good it is is giving me bad vibes.

Send it to Phil. 😂🤣
Hi mate how’s it going , I’m in need off the power button please sell it to me ha ha Joe get some money back
Update Yet ?
I love a fix it channel that is not afraid to post the days where things don't work out.
There are not many channels I push the like button to before I push play. Keep doing what your doing :-)
Thank you 😊😊
HDMI line EG696 the filter is lifted on one side and could be the problem
I think sellers of items that have already been attempted a repair need to be more realistic with their pricing.

I think he was checking all of them in relation to ground.

I am jumping all around this series LOL. I am sure I am watching the episodes out of order haha.
The ic you didn’t think bounced, rewatch it and it does just very subtly, which I’m assuming means you were nearly spot on with the placement.
Use 300C on esd filter they go bad with excess heat and touch up the components around it might help Joey!
I know nothing about electronics but find this fascinating. Thank you for great watchable work.

Idk why but when I saw the made in Italy box in the thumbnail I thought that you were fixing a chandelier. 😂
😂
I thought a coffee machine. They are fun too repair too but a big mess.
Trying something new like fixing italian leather bags... 😂
@@AA-xm7rt Same. 🤣
I thought the box was either long stem wine glasses or one of those Zen garden water fountains for the office.
My best bet is still with the ESD IC - these are super tricky to install and easy to break
My drone still lies on the side of tbe lofoten hill..well done on recovering yours :)

I was so pumped when the Xbox logo posted! was like LFG!!!! Great videos. Keep up the good work.
I would say that any of these small components arround the esd filter is broken. Maybe the caps ?

bro what a great idea yor microscope ! when you have time can you do a video ?
Joey you are so clever. Your videos are great.
Hey Joey, i have a question. I'm looking into getting a microscope but dont know which ones are good or not. So my question is what are you running? like the whole setup from microscope to arm? Thanks in advance if you do see this and reply!
i love your approach to how you do your diagnostics . Really enjoyed watching your vlog.
Hello, Are you able to repair Desktop PC motherboards at all?
Nice one Joey!
15:40 Joey is leg of U717 not eaten away by corosion ?
yeah it looks that way, maybe it was making a partial connection, hence why it was then wasnt working
It’s really entertaining to watch you repair stuff
Thanks :)
Brutal, but much apprecaited!
How does that magic work when those tiny dots align with the terminals.
The solder doesn't stick to the pcb(so is basically floating/lubricated by the flux), but does to the copper.
I would replace all the small parts that were corroded. Probably a issue with those
What's more impressive is the fact that children are making these devices, poor coolies.
This console is playing games with you...
Anyone got a series s power button can’t find any on line as of yet
I just repaired an Xbox One, it was a corrupted HDD that stopped from working, although I did clean the board with Isopropyl as there was some white powder on the back of the PCB..

The other chip je recalled also only has 2
@@BennyAlex98 no where on the board is there a row of 2 balls, even when the ead came back off you could see there was no solder on one pad.

Bad news: You couldn't fix it. Longer journey to £1000
Good news: Longer journey to £1000 and we get more videos. 😂
toss in the ultrassonic
From what i know from louis rossmann, You only ultra sonic after repair as you are destroying the clues.
you really should have taken the time to replace ALL of those damaged resistors and capacitors. Will they work as they are? maybe yes, maybe no. will there be variances that are out of spec? almost 100% yes.
I could not believe the ending.
You don’t see many broken Xbox series consoles on repair channels
A technician I follow said that if it weren't for accidents with liquid and HDMI ports, the Xbox would only appear for preventive maintenance such as changing thermal paste , etc. 😅
I'm wondering why it's members only but it might be because it's just early access
Exactly that :)
Just be careful if you run into a series s or a series x. With no video 90% of the time, the SSD is shot and you can't replace it. The only people that can replace. It is Microsoft at $300.

Nobody makes my face feel welcome quite like Joey :D
so the seller was clearly lying. Since the console was in the service center (hence the inscription NOT FIXED next to the APU), it was obvious that it was not HDMI that was the problem, but liquid damage
They could've bought it themselves after a repair had already been attempted.
no episode number in the title?
flux really is a miricle stuff.
anyone soldering without it shouldn't be soldering.
Series s doesn't have 4k only 1440p
I think it can output 4k, but it will upscale its gaming content(1440p) to that
could we send you are broken stuff to fix for videos ?
:)
Opened 7642 time! 7 x 6 = 42 illuminati confirmed
would not anyitems back you can sell them on just be good to see them fixed rather than just collect dust have xbox s white one with broken hdmi port and a series x black tall one with power but no picture i would give free

Sent my Xbox to decoder and did not hear back it’s been a month and nothing 😢 would not recommend
Series s is max 1440p doesn’t do 4k
It supports a 4k *HDMI connection* , it just scales up games internally. Even then it seems some games *do* support 4k on the series s. Not to mention video streaming.
and again another xbox that cant be fixed. surely you should have learned by now that they are unfixable? your track record of xboxes is low to none!!
xbox console are not unfixable as other technician have been successful its knowledge or there lack of
I like the fact that he tries and still releases unsuccessful attempts, we see realistic results and with each experience he / we learn more which is why I watch.
