I love the first one more tbh While I like character centered stories I liked how you essentially play as 'the people' in the first one and you just happen to meet some folks along the way. Love Love Looove the premise of the first one.
@@PhilDaBank yea they took lost in harmony and road 96 and mixed them together but problem is most fans are not fans of lost in harmony but road 96 only
So it's Subway Surfers 2 with some story sprinkled in? Shame. I really loved the first game and the gameplay mechanics. Dunno why they had to switch them out
Crazy how people keep comparing it to Subway Surfers and not... any game similar to it. Audiosurf/Audiosurf 2, Aaero, Synth Riders, Sayonara Wild Hearts. Or obviously Lost In Harmony. But with more of a focus on visuals, cinematic perspectives, and fluidity. It's not even close to Subway Surfers, you just know it's something pretty much everyone hates and you can negatively compare it to. They didn't "switch anything out"... They made exactly what they said they would. Whine, whine, whine, whine. I wonder if you can ever be content. I don't think I preferred the story of Mile 0 to Road 96. But it was good, and my friend who was playing it at the same time and talking with me on Discord did prefer it. If you're not interested in story-focused games, I don't know how you forced yourself through Road 96, let alone liked it. It's a story-focused game, and mechanics exist but were always secondary. This is one that has more mechanics and significantly improves on the formula of LiH but you're just like "I don't like it" on the principle that... it's not identical to the first game? And it vaguely reminds you of Subway Surfers. That's great, I doubt the community will miss you.
i didnt like the subway surfers parts but also they made most of those parts not necessary and you could skip it was good for fans that are into the lore and ill say for the price its at (i got it for 10$) its not bad at all
@@warmmilk9480 Seems like a lot if not most of the “community” prefers the first game over this one. Just because you enjoyed this game doesn’t mean everyone else has to. Calm down.
I would like to see in more detail the Black Brigades plan for Zoe to cross the border in which we need to sacrifice a teen to save her,it's a important moment in Road 96 that wasn't well explained, all we get to see is a cutscene with her John and Robert and she's saying something looking at a map,the whole Black Brigades group and their plan for a revolution should've been more explored, they lost a big opportunity with this prequel.
Road 96 is one of my favourite games of all time but I could not stand mile 0 because they turned it into a reflex based skating game where you fail if you get hit once. It was not possible to fail any section in road 96. I play road 96 to relax and play it multiple times a year. I skipped almost all the skating/roller blading bits in mile 0 because I absolutely hated them. Story bits were interesting but I personally did not feel we learnt anything meaningful that wasn't already implied or explained in the first game.
Its nice story to explore this background characters but i don't like the subway surfer part, its fun at first but its become abusive mechanic minigame for me that i have to play that part every time. D:
Enjoyed the game and it’s great music and great art style but it’s not as good as the original game they over did some of the skate boarding and roller blading moments even though it’s a cool idea and I enjoy it it gets annoying after a while and difficult and not as much hitchhiking which was one of the great things in the first game also the game was much shorter as well also the thing I wasn’t a fan of is that your locations are less open and more smaller and less locations to close to each other don’t hate it but was disappointed wouldn’t mind another but but this time a sequel to Road 96 instead or a prequel and maybe have it take place in what every country it is that you go to when you pass the boarder and then have bad stuff happen their to and then try escaping that too
If you play the PC version of Road 96: Mile 0 You can literally complete the game in under an hour, I finished TWO playthroughs in 109 minutes, and that was with a few fails and taking atleast 10 minutes each to draw some really bad drawing on the wall of the hideout. I personally REALLY think if you want to play Mile 0, just watch someone else play it.
I actually impressive how they took everything that made the first game great and tossed it. Then, the cherry on top is how the worst mini games from the first one are now the primary game mechanics.
so is the previous game required playing you think? i honestly just wanted to play this for The Midnight but if I have to play a whole other game I don't know if I have that kind of commitment.
I haven't played this game yet. However the first game is rather enjoyable. I really enjoyed playing a bunch of random no name characters rather the being the main person a much need change from other games.
I just finished this game and it was disappointing with the mini games. Without watching videos and reviews I thought it was going to be like the first game but it wasn't the mini games could have been cut out but I can see how it was some how linked to the story. I give it a 6 out of 10
Such a bummer, I’m really not a fan of rhythm games and I’m absolutely terrible at them on top of that.I loved the first one but this sounds like it might not for me unless heavily on sale at some point.😅
Game is trash, seems like they got hella lazy with the developing. I'm not a fan of these mini skating games it's weird due to the story being told and then you got to skate your way out? Like excuse my language but what's the whole fucking point of the game?

Yea it seems like they strayed from what make the first game unique.

I agree, the first game was very original and had some great moments. I def enjoyed it.

road 96 is better though of course

Agreed
1:47 The reason it feels like you’re missing something is because the story of Aya and Kaito is in a mobile game called Lost in Harmony.

I would love to have a prequel about the events leading up to the attack in 86.
because of the short attention span they added subway surfers in the bottom of the talking part

after the first couple I just intentionally crashed over and over again so I could skip them completely
I am glad we got to see more of Life in Petria.
Not that they are even remotely the same this makes me think of life is strange
Hell nah Life is Strange is INCREDIBLE

Imo this game is a lot worse than the previous one. The last game's gameplay was original, this one's feels like an endless runner rip off
i love this game and the story and i respect youre review. good work. thank you
Don't change gameplay when the gameplay is fine.
YES!. The gameplay in the first was great, but it could have been quite a bit better. That is what I was hoping for with mile 0.
I am stopping playing, literally just because of the skateboarding

The first game is fairly short, and also have a lot of replayability
Liked the first...horrible idea with the subway surfers thing...ruined the whole game for me

NGL. It looks amateurish and ugly.
