I did this with Greg Ritter. I learned a lot from him very fast. Simple things that all add up. These guys are very talented. When Ritter demonstrated I thought he'd never hit the brakes into corners. Very hard to get used to but he drove the car to it's limit effortlessly. I certainly did not. This instructor did the right thing and his message very important.

I'd be a cranky driver. those witches hat's are nowhere near a proper racing line.

I had a similar experience with Adrenalin racing at that track. Instructor kept pulling the steering wheel and swearing at me. I hated it.

Meanwhile, instructors in the US when I was driving a much more expensive car that wasn't my own were pushing me to go faster. We really are a nanny state, even on racetracks

Instructor at symmons plains wouldn’t let you out of second gear and we got into argument about to drive the track especially the hairpin. Have driven there for 15 years in formula vee but every line I took was wrong according to him

Yeah, it’s annoying especially after paying your hard earned..

The way the cones are laid out are nowhere near where the proper racing lines are, T1 could've been taken at speed if they took the cones away from where they were, no one uses the super wide late apex (which you can't actually hit because they've set them so wide) and the chicane and final turn are ruined with the placement of the cones. I understand there's novices that jump in these things but they can't even teach them properly, not only that, they lie through their teach about what the cars are, they're not former race cars, just sup'd up road cars with the interiors ripped out, roll cages put in and bucket seats installed.

Very true, I think the cones were placed in that position so you had no choice but to take the slowest line.. also yes, I thought the cars were x racers but they did handle like an old boat so not 100% convinced.. 🤷🏽‍♂️

It’s a driving experience, a 55 year old mum won’t be too worried about the perfect racing line

@@TheTrackschool pathetic reply and exactly what I thought you’d say. Sim racers have proven to be excellent racers IRL.
Anyway, there is far too much wheel touching and gear stick holding from the instructors. Same happened to me when I had a crack, sorry I mean when you guys stole my money. And don’t try and argue you don’t , the video evidence is there for all to see.

@@ghostridersnr i agree just look at Jimmy Broadbent. Sim racing for most of his life and then gets a ride with praga. He has a lot of skill and still a lot more to prove

Instructors are in the car for a very good reason. Keep the person safe, keep the car in one piece, and to try and get them up to speed as fast as they can.

He was there to learn. If the instructor had to be firm that's what you'd hope for. It will make the student better and maybe even save their life. Good on the instructor for being diligent and the student for listening.

We were struggling to see the part where the instructor got cranky 😄🤷‍♂️ T1 on lap 1 in a car that you have not driven before is never a great idea. Awesome if you have ridden bikes at the venue. Means you have good vision, but also means lines are a little different. Bike turn in earlier than a car 👍

Did the student get to do a lap with the instructor driving to show him?
I did an F1 drive, no instructor in the car, they had the vid and you pulled in every lap for the instruction.
We had cones for braking , apex and go.

    • @RideTribe1
      @RideTribe1  4 місяці тому

They had a few different packages, we did the one where you do one lap as a passenger then 3 as driver. Not much advice when you are passenger just a quick fast lap.
      It was a good day..

What??? Where’s the ‘cranky’? On the other hand, l did this in Perth 4 years ago and my instructor never grabbed the wheel or the gearshift while l drove. He only had to tell me what he wanted and it was clear.
