Good advice when removing the battery to disconnect the negative terminal first, and when fitting the new battery, disconnecting the positive terminal first. And remembering to remove the nuts from the old battery.
I have the 2009 version of the r125, it doesnt actually have a slot for the breather hose but the battery does have the hole for it? Am I okay to just leave it?
LOOL I did try and warn people...cos it's happened to me before and I found it with some serious stroke of luck with where it landed / got wedged it self in the wiring 😂
@@evening1457 how long did it take before the battery was fully charged? Ordered the same without acid, charged for a while but the mc did not start...
@@chrisspicodano5584 If I remember correctly it took about an hour. And when I bought the battery it came without acid, so I bought the acid separately and filled it.
5 months late reply...but essentially the small plastic tube runs all the way to the bottom of the bike and sits just below the bottom frame (so it essentially the fluid spills out on the floor if anything leaks out)
@@C9S1 Just installed a new battery on Mutt Mongrel 125, checked on it a few hours later. Leaked all down the side, onto the exhaust , Im assuming it was battery acid because it stripped a little bit of the black exhaust paint right off. Took the batt out and cleaned everything up. Please help lool -__- what do I do now lol
@@perriebiston8748 What a nightmare! Definitely will be the acid...unsurprisingly has some serious corrosive properties . Does it not have some sort of hose to attach to like in the video? I'm no means an expert but if not you may have got the wrong batt, and need what's called a 'sealed maintenance free batt' to avoid this issue occurring. And regarding the paint it stripped...you either a. live with that annoying you b. take it to a garage c. DIY paint job 😂
Where do you get the new battery from? All the batteries I try to buy say they only deliver without the acid. I need the exact same battery as you for the Yamaha yzf r125 abs. Please help tell me where you ordered your battery or something
Oh really, the new laws are really ridiculous..as a lot sellers don't have the licence now required. As long as they sell it without the acid already in, it's fully legal for them. I got it off eBay from a seller called tanya-batteries Product name is 12N5.5-4A Yuasa Motorcycle Battery 12V 5.5Ah 55A Let me know if you have problems finding it
The Future The Future heya, I’ve been looking for a while but I can’t find the same battery as you with acid inside on eBay. If you could help me out to find the battery, it’d be a huge help!
@@grimreaper2h606 Yeah the one I got seemed to be sold without acid in anymore. After a quick look around, there are people (even on eBay) that are selling ones with 'filling kits' (technically illegally) now. They are a bit more pricey though. Just add 'with filling kit' at the end and you should find the one you want
The Future it’s difficult to find a battery with acid but I found one from a different country but it seems to be a different brand. Could you check this battery out and let me know if you think it’s still work on the Yamaha yzf r125 please. rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F263835093944
I'm having the same problem just bought a new battery and there was no acid in it! Can I just put any motorbike battery acid in it? Or does it have to be a certain one? Thanks mate👍

Good video 📹 👍
Thanks very helpfull
Glad it helped you out! Was it specifically for a R125?
great video thank you
I accidentally screwed away the positive first, is that bad? Can I get problems with my bike now?
The main risk is just electrocution lol, if nothing happened you're fine
So I just bought this battery, do I need to fill it? Charge it? Or can I just put it in
Charge it
Sorry just seeing this. Wait did you buy it without the acid in it? If so, you need to charge the battery before using it as mentioned 👆
@@C9S1 No problem, yeah I bought the battery without acid. I charged it and it works fine.

Can you drink the electrolyte? Asking for a friend
Yes it’ll give you super powers
Yes but make sure to dilute with water first 👍 (it's concentrated)
Only if you're Raiden😂😂😂
