- Vietnam's best desserts...at least what I think are the best... Also, I don't know why i keep saying "Dishes" Instead of "Color" at the Chè spot, Màu not Món :(
Fried Banana - They set up right across the street from here. 195 Đ. Lâm Văn Bền, Tân Quy, Quận 7, Hồ Chí Minh usually open from around 9am to 4pm
"Sweet Soup" - g.co/kgs/epBMtmt
Flan - g.co/kgs/yRwf9n2
Coconut and Crispy Sugar Roll - Good Luck :)
Grilled Sticky Rice Banana - maps.app.goo.gl/dq3emgDECACxM...
this is a bit hard to find and their hours are tough - Розваги
as Indonesian I even got surprised by their desserts variety at traditional market the first time I come to Ho Chi Minh at that time 😂😂. Many is similar to other south east Asia countries, but still I love Vietnamese foods, amazingly good. Yummm!!
Bò bía ngọt vendors are like superheroes. They wouldn't show up when we wanted them. They would show up unexpectedly only when we need them.
Pandan is really underrated. I personally think it’s better than vanilla.
I don't usually have these street desserts, but there is a traditional sweet that I like, and it's called "bánh đậu xanh" or mung bean cake. It's mung bean cooked to perfection, mashed, sweetened, and then formed into squares and cut into smaller squares. It's slightly sweet, kinda dry, and has a unique flavor. The dryness is actually preferred because we don't just eat it by itself; we pair it with a hot cup of tea. To me this is the Vietnamese answer to English tea and cake.
u make me crave banh dau xanh again ughhhhh
banh dau xanh is fire 🔥🔥🔥
Dryness of Hai Duong delicacy...
it's stick in the throat i don't like that feel
@@nguoithuahuong4920 it's too sweet that it burn throat
When I lived in Vietnam growing up, my favourite sweet was the pandan cake with coconut filling - there was one vendor who would walk through our alley way randomly, and I would run to him! He would only ever show up, you could never find him when you wanted it 😭 if you ever see something like this I would love to see it! I miss Vietnam so much
In the US, we have 31 flavors of ice cream. In Vietnam, they have 60 types of Che. My favorite che are: Che 7 mau (colors), Che Dau Xanh nuoc dua bot ban, and Che Troi Nuoc.
This guy deserve 400k to 500k subscriber come on guys share his channel to your friend
Epic edit
Great contents
@@LiLt1116 thank you so much
Next time you should really bring "Tào phớ" to a video. It's similar to Chè but not quite.
To me it's kinda like if Flan and Chè have a child together. The "flan" in Tào Phớ is Tofu (or something I have no idea) that's been sweetened and just melts in your mouth. It's custardy and creamy but still very light.
Usually tào phớ is served hot for some reason but when it's ice cold like Chè, sheesh.
And also when it's sold at a vendor that just keeps moving around, the "Tào phớ" song is so catchy and iconic lol (Same with "Bánh Đúc" and many more) XD
món tủ của tuiii 👏👏👏
@@gumayusie bro he not from vietnam
That milk and jelly dish is a banger bro
for me, Hue has the best Chè in Việt Nam
Wow! The storytelling, the filming, and the video editing 😮 Everything is excellent, Chad! I know how hard to film in summer days in Saigon, so kudos to you. Keep up the good work! 💪🏼💪🏼
Hello chuỵ😊
Thank you so much. We are trying hard.
Good job Pho. Your channel is getting more recognition that you deserve
I'll have to try those when I'm in Vietnam! My go-to's are always Chè Ba Màu, Bánh da lợn, Chè trôi nước, and Chè Đậu Ván.
Thank you for the video, looks good.
I have been in Ho Chi Minh in 2010 for 4 days.
From Indonesia 🇮🇩
I would love the chewy banana pandan too!!!! Everything I love in one plate! Oooohhh. Thanks for this!
I love how you speak the name of the food in Vietnamese and separately translate it in English. Btw, your accent when you speak Vietnamese is crazily cute. A fascinating video, thank you.
@@cinderella_2063 love to hear it, thank you
Have you ever try “bánh thập cẩm nước cốt dừa”? This is delicious too.
Love the editing!!! Amazing editor!
I've really come to love your videos and you wouldn't imagine how happy I get when I see you've uploaded.. just like a little kid lol.
“Che” is one of my most favourite desert. It’s sweet and creamy with a lot of topping like jelly .
Vietnamese deserts are so underrated
@@KFC431 Yes they are so good! I’m a Vietnamese my self
@@Ethical_Idk me too man. Me too
Thêm bát tào phớ nx là chuẩn bài :))))
I quite like this guy for the way he edits. I'm also a citizen of Vietnam and I see him sharing about Vietnamese cuisine with friends around the world. I hope he will continue to work to share cuisine not only Vietnamese but also from many other countries. Hope you stay healthy and always upload videos so we can follow your exciting journey (I use Google translate to write so don't criticize me XD)
Hey Chad, already in love with your content and I am a Vietnamese living in Sai Gon right now for my whole life, what a channel - really
Tgank you do much
The desserts sometimes got too sweet, thats why it always comes with tea, either iced or warm, it was such a banger
"bò bía" itself is a borrowed word "popiah" from Cantonese, I think, or from Fujian/Teochew. It is not originally Vietnamese so it's not "beef something" hahaha.
It is a rolled up dessert, and it's quite good. You can find popiah sold in Singapore as well, because there's a Teochew community there.
Yes, you're right that the term "bò bía" is referring to a Cantonese dish, but that dish is a savory dish that was modified to fit local tastes when some Cantonese immigrated into Vietnam decades or centuries ago. However, the dessert here is a 100% Vietnamese dish. It just borrowed the term "bò bía" to describe itself as a roll dish.
So what does 'popiah' mean?
@@bachhongtran It means 'thin skin' or 'thin bread' or 'thin wrap'. It refers to the shape of the spring roll.
I guess I need to find these places in Sai Gon so I can have a snack because this looks way too good, and I feel ashamed not knowing these places despite being a Sai Gon resident
lol its simply just any chè, trust me its tasty
I'm living on Nguyen Thi Thap, D7 too. D7 is truely a heaven of food if you do spend much efforts on searching for food. There're good food with good price everywhere. Besides, I would like to recommend you to try "Com Binh Dan", a kind of dish that you will be served white rice with salty dishes, such as braised pork belly, braised fish, fried shrimps, etc.
My favourite dessert has got to be "Bo Bia Ngot". I have never tried it but I love the combination of coconut, crushed peanuts and crunchy sugar sticks all wrapped in a springroll skin. It's not hard to imagine the flavor and texture....yummmm!! The crunchy sugar sticks looked very much like the peanut candy sticks that I used to eat growing up in Singapore 😋 Definitely looking forward to visiting Vietnam.
Another banger video from Chad!
Keep up the great work!
Tried most of them and all tasted so good! Very curious to try your last dessert of grilled banana with pandan leave. There's always so much more to discover in Vietnam...
I love " Sâm Bổ Lượng" that i can eat it every day after the meal❤
The smell and taste of sam bo luong are odd to me. I never crave it, but I do LOVE che. If I live in VN, I'd probably have a different type of che everyday.
They all look so good
*I was very happy to see a foreign UA-cam channel reviewing Vietnamese food that was both good and made me hungry😂*
Chè chuói and chè bà ba are also super popular. There are seemingly hundreds of variants, just like xôi.
Bro even has the slight Southern accent. a true vietnamese. No way you even got lost in the alleys. Yes.
your videos always make me feel hungry !! keep doing it Chad
Bananas 🍌sticky rices, coconut 🥥 , pandan grill.. 🍌 🥥 ., so good.. 😋 😋👍
giant yellow ball called "chè khoai dẻo'' basically come from Taiwan with different kind of yam. it can be different color (yellow from sweet potato, light purple from taro). some dessert dishes in VN we also served as add-on topping. love your video
Chúc kênh sớm đạt 100k sub😁😁
I love your video, keep going bro
Sâm bô luong is pretty great. I’ve had it a few times and it really hits the spot on a hot day.
Damn bro, I love your contents so much, I know you from like facebook?? I mean i watched the video posted when you went outside to buy things using vietnamese? Anyway glad you're on youtube now. I'm more than impressed by the effort you put to create the videos and the passion you have for vietnamese cuisine. Espl since you are from a very different culture, it's even more interesting to see how you describe your experience. I will stay to support you as much as possible dude🎉
I appreciate your support, thank you
One of my favorite of your videos Chad
All this dish are awesome
Bò bía ngọt really brought back a lot of good memories ❤❤❤
I have to try these!!
Vietnamese desserts are the best!! It is more complex to make than baking cookies, but totally worth it. I love everything with sticky rice and pandan has an awesome scent.
Oh my god the last desert had my mouth watering and craving 😲🫠🤤
More videos like this please ❤❤❤
I love all of them ❤❤❤
I am a huge Che fan. Here is Thailand we have some versions, but nowhere near as many as in Việt Nam. There are days when only Che will do, and i will drive for an hour yo get some😅
it's just when I'm lying in bed and come across Chads new vid about vietnamese desserts, shit that hits very hard
nice bro, I really like videos
That blue chè looks so damn good, i'll try it tmr
I am Vietnamese and I feel this guy is right, Vietnamese food is quite delicious that I have ever eaten. Thank you for spreading the dish to others
Thank you for trying Vietnamese food
The banh chunk is really good done as a fried pancake
cảm ơn vì ghé vn
Thank you, all my favorite desserts are in this video. The sticky rice grilled banana place is in Saigon/HCMC?
The banana really goes well with vanilla icecream 🎉
The last one is my favorite, too.
Can you please do a bot chien episode when you get the chance? It's one of my favs and I would love to know all the good places to get it for future reference!
In my opinion, "Chuối nếp nướng" is the best dessert in Vietnam. 👍
I’m Vietnam in sai gon . And already try some them but my favorite is the fried banana
You should try the bò pía with ice cream that makes it double tasty. The vendor near where i live they put ice cream in bò pía.
You should try "kem xôi" aka sticky rice ice cream. It's an interesting combination
Very good video
Thank you
I saw the chinsu commercial, and i gotta tell you it's a bit off the limit. Chinsu is a popular brand but it's also a controversial brand. Using their chilly sauce with rice is kinda offensive to Vietnamese. And I believe there'll be some inappropriate word from some people to you in later days, but don't worry it's temporary, ppl will quickly forget about it. But make sure not to work with masan in the future. Wish you best.
I don't know what "bò bía" means, too. But they usually use this word to call these kinds of rolls, where you put many things in a rice paper(or something that looks similar to rice paper), and roll it. Certainly "bò" in "bò bía" don't have any involvement with beef at all.
Nice video
6:53 Flan in Vietnam is so delicious!!
7:32 as a vietnamese i also never heard of avocado 💀
As a vietnamese.I don't know how i never heard of "chuối nếp nướng" befor lol
as a Vietnamese who live 24 years in VN, i still not eat all the desserts in VN
I think that it would be impossible because of how much wonderful regional variety and innovation there is❤
thế a zai đã thử chè heo quay chưa :))))) thử bánh sầu riêng, kẹo chỉ, chè khoai dẻo, chè sầu, bánh khoai chiên, sữa đậu nành, bánh bột lọc, bánh ngải, bánh bánh gai, bánh dày, bánh giò, bánh su kem, bánh lá ít, bánh căn chưaaa =)) ko bt trong sài gòn sao chứ ở hà nội mấy bà bán bánh bò bía đứng đầy ngoài đường dọc hồ tây
I am drooling.
SWEET
I dunno if you ever try Kem Chiên which is fry ice-cream but that's a must try desserts if you're looking for a interesting things to chill in these rainy season. And yeah, because it's a "hot and cold" dessert combine with each other so is contraindicated with anyone who has weak stomach. :D try it at Kem Ký - 177 Hải Thượng Lãn Ông St, Dis 5.
Also there're Kem Xôi, which is "Ice-cream with Sticky Rice" (use to come with coconut flavor), you can find it at Cà-rem Kem Dừa Thái 191 Cách Mạng Tháng 8 St, Ward 4, Dis 3.
Oh and although these one are not a desserts, but I wanna see you try one of my favorite (and many genZ too) fast food which is Bánh Tráng Trộn (Rice Paper Salad), Bánh Tráng Cuốn (Rolled Rice Paper Salad), Bánh Tráng Lụi (Western Highlands Rolled Rice Paper) and Tré Trộn (I dunno what this is called in english but Tré is Fermented Pork Skin and Trộn is mixed together, with many more ingredients). You can find the first two in every streets but the others are only found at the vendor or online store.
I never see anyone eat "' bò bía ngọt" and "bánh chuối" as a dessert, they are much like street food that u can actually get full while eating. dessert should be cool and fresh like the taro " chè" u ate,but i suggest u should eat 'tào phớ" is a really cool dish to eat for dessert
I can assure you that it’s more entertaining with you including your kids in for their reaction and comment of the food.
Yeah Flan Dì Chi, it's my top Flan and Panna cotta 😆😆
Look delicious!!! But remember we dont use Chinsu for cơm tấm
YOU NEED TO GO TO MŨI NÉ, PHAN THIẾT, BÌNH THUẬN
It have good views and sweet foods
And in the "bãi trước" it has a beeggg Resort calld "CENTARA MIRAGE" has Every ting :)
Whatever, thank you for visiting our country Vietnam
We luv u :3
a question about bò bía , the one you got look the same as the one i sees in hanoi, but i see that people from down south said that their bò bía is complexly different and they are disappointed with the northern version (?), is there a different style of bò bía or something, i am very confused.
How do you feel to eat popular cake in the saigon ?? ( is very delicious) ❤
you should try "bánh tráng kẹo" my childhood food
Is that out the Bo bia ngot vendors?
@@yeschefwithchadkubanoff like bò bía but make from bánh tráng tròn & kẹo kéo
@@yeschefwithchadkubanoff Bo bia ngot is a different kind, banh trang keo is a snack with crispy rice paper (not the regular one it's a extra thick and crispy one) then there is a layer of malt syrupt on top
10:54 not 'Nung' 😭😭😭
bò is beef or cow,but bò bía is a whole different thing away,it comes from China originally and the name is directly translated from Chinese
tôi không biết ở các nước khác như thế nào, nhưng ở VN mỗi ngày ăn 1 món tráng miệng khác nhau thì hết 1 năm không biết đã ăn hết chưa.
let's try some Vietnamese drinks
Affordable and healthy...
I hope will have a lot of foreiners know about your chanel. They can find more information about new and good Vietnamese food to try!
Ur vietnamese is so much better now!
👍👍
Yatta!!11!
Tôi rất vui vì nhiều người thích đất nước tôi đến như vậy❤
The truth is that when you exchange the prices of these 5 dishes, it’s quite cheap for u guys (I mean most westerners). But it’s quite prohibitive for laborers in Vietnam. Let me explain: for example, that bánh chuối usually costs around 10000 to 15000 VND, which is a half of hour working as a mc Donald’s staff
chè cô 7 is mean that the person who sell it named "seven" (lol idk how-)
Banana!!!!!!
Bánh lá!!!!🎉
