Any advice if I go over the same area and get different results? Sometimes it suggests live wire (flashing red), other times it then shows green. Very unreliable and therefore unsafe from what I've seen so far.
Agreed. I often get ambiguous signals from mine. It looks very straightforward and reliable in this video but I'm sorry to say that this is not my experience of this tool.
@@markleewilson6611hey mate, I'm having this issue too, electricity is detected, I get the red light and quick beep, and like you said the scanner stops beeping if I touch the wall with my free hand. I'm no expert, can you tell me how does it happen?
Instead of getting on with job I am now wasting time testing a damn product behavior, because I want to stay alive and all that. If it helps other I have found the following having tested on sockets with same electrical cable and in which I chased the the walls so I know exactly what and where is behind the plaster: On 1 socket, I got flashing red and beeping over the path of the cable, it was accurate to with about 2 to 3 inches either side of the cable (so consider 3.5 inches as a margin of safety). On another socket with the exact same electrical cable and depth within the wall I got just a solid red light and continuous beep, placing my hand on the wall in various areas made no difference. I know I am directly over the live cable but it does not detect it, this to my mind means the product is a potential threat to your life and you should only use it as a guide, a bit like GPS, if you obey it explicitly you'd probably drive off road or over a cliff eventually. So key point, solid red, continuous beep over live wire was observed.
Just picked of one of these babys for very cheap...I was stupid and before this ordered a Chinese one hung luuuuuu no name brand that was giving 99% false-positives .... it could end up killing me if I drilled into the wall and into the wirings loooooool....people save yourself and invest in a good known item (almost in all areas)
If you red light is still beeping and lighting red on the wall, just touch the wall with the other hand and it will work properly.
Just tried this, can't believe this works. I honestly thought either my device was faulty or my entire house was built with live wires every 5mm apart
You are welcome. It is also written in ownerw manual in troubleshooting.
Thanks for the video
Can this be used on concrete walls?
the light stays red all the time and the calibration doesnt work?
Nice concise video. Can you confirm that this product works on concrete walls?
Mate is there Trevulock in London?

Same here. I'm returning it

That will be static charge put one hand on the wall as you scan to ground the wall
