Never used Blender before, and very rarely leave UA-cam comments. I just want to say this video is beyond helpful. your instructions are clear and concise and I learned a lot from it. and now I don't have to use SketchUp for work. Thank you.
These tutorials are the best and what i needed the most. I want to do furniture modeling and this is what i needed. Ofc i could have made everything you do in these videos, but you make it more simple than me. And every time i learn something new that makes it more easy for me to donthe modeling. :)
Me being me, I’ve dived right in, built a castle and not thought about how I’m going to apply materials to the walls or how to make every corner, edge, ground surface to look rough. Just from watching this vid, I can see it could take me weeks to texture my model (and I particularly wanted to use PBRs as well)! Groans whilst banging head on desk…😬
Nice, quick (considering all the stuff covered) and effective. I like your tutorial style. That said, two comments by the side... 1. Modern technology makes us sooooo lazy. A TV? Just model a box, make an inset for the screen... done! Hah, you young whippersnapper! Back in my time, TVs were huge and bulky and oddly shaped! And we had to carry them home, uphill. Both ways! Through the snow!! 2. I like your style. Really, I do. But that didn't keep me from smiling, comparing it to some other approaches. Also today, I watched a Blender video where someone lamented that Blender's solidify modifier has an error margin of about 1%. And here we see the other way. "Push it here, pull it there... looks good. Aspect ratios of TV screens? Who cares... it looks good."
I made the model honestly this tutorial is 100/10 but can I sell my model? will it be against copyrights or licence agreements because I used those textures and also can I render my model in sheepit?
Yes, you can sell the model. All of the textures I used in this tutorial are Licensed as Creative Commons. To confirm the license, check the license pages on the different texture websites. They will tell you what your allowed to do with the textures.
For photorealism, I would use Cycles, because its more realistic. I guess you could use Eevee, if you want it to be in real time, but Eevee isn't as realistic.
Great tutorial, thank you very much for that. If I may, I would appretiate some tips about organization of objects, how to collect them, how to join them to be able easily manipulate them... You may iproved in your latest tutorials, if so, forget my point.
I am following the tutorial and facing an issue at 42:31. The texture and mapping boxes in "Shading" didnot pops out after selecting those texture files. Is there any solution or alternative? Many thanks!!
Maybe someone will stuck in here like me: Use Mirror Modifier only when > at first add an object > can change the position of the object in 'object mode' > now go to 'edit mode' > now in this mode you can change the size > And now you can apply the 'Mirror Modifier' When you change the size of object in object mode and after that apply the Modifier then it won't work!
To add on to details, the surface imperfections doesnt show up in the render viewport, when i hit render there are zig zag-ish lines that show up.. but when I go into materials preview, I can see the details properly.. I'm so confused I cant figure out how to fix it
@@penguin2701 Hmm, are you talking about the material preview mode? Where there is lighting and textures in the preview? You can press Z, and then move your mouse down, and then let go, to go into the material preview.
@@RyanKingArt Yeah. I have the newest Macbook pro and when I try to light the scene it looks nothing like yours. It´s like my graphics card is a five year old.
Thanks for the feedback. I added the smudges to give it more Photorealism. Although, I do agree that I should have made it slightly more subtle. That can be changed easily in the node setup.
Good morning. I believe my program needs an exorcist! Place the camera as suggested and on pressing "Ctrl>Alt> 0 the player and TV is scattered all over the place! Yes, I did parent them to their respective components.
"Photorealistic Furniture" - why put this claim like this now i have to comment . UV on middle and bottom shelf should be rotated 90', you always put grains along longer side you know how big tree you have to cut to have rings yours, top and sides are ok. You did not turn "on" auto smooth or set the value too high so flat faces are bulging . You always see connection so you should cut corners not making them from one element. Do not comment the rendering because you claim that the model is photo realistic ;P
You have heard of veneer - right? Even with solid wood, the panels are always made from strips glued together...usually alternating the radius of the grain to maintain stability.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I didn't think about the aspect ratio. I guess most TV's would have a specific height and width.
Wow man, This is what I am looking for. Thanks
glad you like it!

Ryan, season's greetings. I have never tried parenting before. If I parents the knobs to the remote, will I be able to colour each individually?
Yes, you can add different materials to each object, or you can also add different materials to different faces within the object.

Make sure you turn on the node wrangler addon, or you can also manually add those nodes.

Mirror modifier is not working, Why?
Make sure the origin point of the object is in the center of the scene. Or use the mirror object option on the mirror modifier.
