This is so lovely! We have a female robin and a fledgling in our garden this August. You can tell which is the female in this video, she's more slender and scruffier than the male, but mainly it's the V shaped hairline. The male robin's brown area makes a U shape on his forehead. The female is also doing most of the work here
I have baby Robins in my potato tub - I have protected the corner with net but am anxious now as they are due to fledge. I hope I can keep them safe 👍🤞❤🐦
I found a Robin's nest in my electric meter box a couple of weeks ago, and there were 3 brown baby birds in there asleep most of the time. The parent Robin was always close by, however when I looked yesterday they had gone and there was some white bird poo near the hole where they had been nesting. Is it likely they survived, and will they stay in the area so that I can watch them from afar? Is there anything I can do to help them, and should I leave the nest intact? My partner wants to remove it now, but I haven't let him just incase they come back. I keep thinking about them and if anyone knows the answers to my questions I would be so grateful. I live in the UK Many thanks. x
Good morning, Paul. I particularly enjoy watching Robins, my favourite garden birds. I noticed one Robin fed the fledgling and the other Robin after picking the food flew in the opposite direction. Do you think they are the parents of the same fledgling in the video and the other parent flew away to feed the fledgling's sibling or was it feeding another family? Thank you for sharing this beautiful video. Have a nice weekend.
kwee eng Good morning to you too :-) Yes I think they are probably both the parents, although there were a couple of other robins around too so I can't be totally sure. I didn't see any other fledglings but they could have been still in the nest. Have a lovely weekend ~ Paul
