Thank you for reintroducing aeronautical competence to UA-cam R/C videos. I have logged a mere 1000 full scale hours, no more than half of them IFR, but I still feel I have come home when I watch your videos. Keep it up, our hobby needs it.
I only recently discovered this channel, but I’ve got to say you guys easily have the best RC Aviation content on UA-cam. I really love that you guys base your RC techniques and teachings on the full scale tried-and-true stuff and not “Oh I guess I’ll pray it actually takes off into the wind this time”. And of course the jokes and roasts are great (especially when you mentioned UND 😂). Super refreshing to have found a voice with character in the community. Anyways just wanted to say keep doing what you’re doing.
Good job on your first flights. You could take note of your AS3X gain settings, then after using your gain knob set for no oscillation in the yaw axis select capture gains on landing. Then set yaw to fixed gains and reset your roll and pitch back to the original settings and do accordingly for them on the next flight.
the lubricant / grease in the retract´s freez then it´s its sub zero Celsius, use break cleaning spray to get rid of it, just spray in to the retract housing. let it dry and then apply silicone spray. works very well if you are a winter flyer that fly on the ice or a plowed airfield.
My first FMS plane. Wish I had never bought it. Because of the purchase, I bought the FMS Rafale. Then their Bae Hawk. And then the Futura v3. Then the Arctic Camo a-10. Then another Futura and a Bae Hawk. (Made them 8s) All great jets.
The Bae Hawk high performance has to be my favorite plane of all time! Clocked in at 126mph, not to mention keeping things low throttle an 8+ min flight time!
@@bikeislife8405 FMS, in my opinion is making the best planes. I’m still using Spektrum receivers, will never enjoy anything more than flying the Flightline P-38 and the Freewing F-22, but the FMS Bae Hawk, Futura v3 and the 1700 a-10 are the jets that go to the field every trip.
Nice. I did some similar flying last weekend with my Habu SS 50mm. It was great until the snow bank landings removed all the blades from the fan. Worth it. 😁
You make me miss NH, Smart move btw! 🎉 where is your home field? -writing from the constantly windy, constantly closed airspace of San Diego. Any planes you suggest that handle the wind the best? Thanks for your hard work on the videos great work! This is only Going to grow A+++
Thanks! Heavier wing loadings always do better in the wind - or alternatively super light airplanes if you enjoy STOL and trying to fly backwards and such.
So glad to see this outstanding plane get some love. I think it flies fantastic off my grass runway, even when its cold, long, and wet winter stuff. I love the flight envelope, though thats not unexpected in a delta'ish design. The gear really are that good, which I think is the true boner killer on most planes. I'm looking forward to lots of flights with mine this summer. Its got so much plastic I am scared flying in freezing weather is asking for problems.
Old model refreshing review . Was my first jet many years ago and i loved so much to get 3 of it ( was much chipper too). Stress free , does all you need to have unlimited fun . Yet, the massive 90mm from FW was even more spectacular. Wish to have it againx, maybe from fms ???
i fly a fms 540mm pa 18 i have not flown it in months due to a crash that made me loose an aileron linkage rod and i got it stuck in a tree up high with the wind holding on by the one linakge rod and wing strut. i also lost my prop in the tree and am bout to recive a new one. should i buy a new linkage rod or will i be fine with the one. love your work. keep it up👍
I got my YAK a few months ago, but no reflex. Is this something that has just been added recently? Really doesn't matter because I plan to run Spectrum, but it might come in handy for other models.
Yep - in addition to ground speed and other forms of speed as well without getting too detailed. Think of it from the perspective of a full-scale plane. On the takeoff roll while still on the ground, your airspeed indicator rises before you take off as you accelerate. Then, once you reach a pre-determined "rotation" airspeed on the ground, you begin flying after gently introducing back pressure (aka up elevator) to become airborne. Hope this makes sense. -Zach
@@TailHeavyProductions I was thinking more of the abuse you put STOL planes through, like the PA-18 and TTE being inflicted on a Bighorn. It wouldnt last 10 minutes.
I do luv the Yakk 70, but I cant trust your advice anymore after saying how great the FMS RAFAEL 64MM , I bought that bird after waching your vid, that thing is a PIG. I flew it once and have no desire to fly it again, I could have spent my money on the fms 64 , f35
Dang - a pig on a 4s? I’ve accidentally thrown a 3S into it and it could barely do high alpha. Not sure what exactly you mean by pig. Sorry to hear you disagree with our thoughts! That thing is our go to for messing around with high alpha on the deck. It definitely excels the most in that flight condition out of anything else we’ve flown in the EDF side of the hobby. 👍
This has quickly become my favorite RC channel. I love your knowledge of full size aviation, it ads so much… keep up the good work
Thank you! We're having fun with it. -Zach

Best review on the Yak. Love how its just opions and advice and not repeating a brand every minute.
Hands down my favorite edf.. such an amazingly fast agile flying machine
+1000 points for the snippet of Blonde Redhead at the end
I as someone from Canada and Minnesota love the winter flying content

Thanks! We don't use gyros in anything other than Flex Innovations products since they are designed around them.
This has quickly become my favorite channel! Love the bush flying videos the most. Hope to see a skynetic bison in a video 🤘
I got one awhile ago. Was a handful for me but I proved my flying skill. I just was not expecting it to be so fast and elf’s are new for me.

Love the channel, hello from UND, North Dakota. Ian says hi
This is literally my favorite channel
I've been waiting all week for this.

Awesome sauce, I've had one for months, still hadn't flown it, but this video gives me hope as well. 👍
Great content dudes! Very well scripted and love the behind the scenes footage.
Yaks > shed

Nice jet boys. And again a good and funny video. Grettings from norway.
I am an LOS Looser, I have the Idea for good FPV Jet. This Jet has a nice Cockpit with good room in nice angle
Working on it 🎉

Thanks! This is the V2 of the jet you probably already have with a few updates. We love it for sure!
Love the UND reference haha
so update on my v1 yak 130 i got as3x on it and gave it full throws and it can do high alpha but it still wing rocks a ton
you guys are crazy :D love it!!!!
That plane looks fun
How much does your 6s 3300 weigh, and what's the c ratings. Thanks, Great reviews!!👍👍
I used Socokin 100c I think, not sure on the weight, but space is at a premium in the battery bay because they need to be pushed way back.
510 grams I believe. Thank you!
Great video THP!! I've wanted this one for a long time. One of these days......
AirHammer out!!
Thank you!
Should do a review on the freewing F-14 tomcat or f-4 phantom
Something with scratch build next pleas?
Appreciate your commentary using correct aerospace lingo rather than stuff like how it "feels"

@@TailHeavyProductions currently im using a paper clip which ive folded into a makeshift rod. cheers for help!

Great vidio BUT i have a question: is it called airspeed when ur starting and still tuching the ground?

You mentioned being a full scale pilot, what job exactly is that?
Are you going to put out videos on the Flexjet?
👀
i know its alot to ask, but can you do a review on the FMS Zero 1400mm some time?
The Italian mb346 trainer is the same identical jet
They were doing it together for a time. it's a twins.
What do you fly in your full time job?
Anything with wings on it. ✈
Hi nice video, did you put a gyro on this bird?
Thanks, nope
WOAHHHHHH
w vid
I got mine for $275 new on eBay. Still too chicken to fly it. I love my 64mm Freewings.
This is FMS 👍
Biggest negative with this aircraft is the excess length of the wires which makes it difficult to put everything in the "equipment compartment"....
Battery compartment, equipment compartment, fuselage, electronics bay, e-bay, tomato, tomatoh… 😝
Petition, could you guys review the omphobby bighorn, or the turbo Bushmaster, or the crack turbo beaver?
imagining them fly a balsa plane terrifies me :)
Check out our Top Flite 1/5 scale P-47 video from last summer - love balsa! Just more cost effective to go foam is all.

Yes more flights into shed.
Not me trying to fly in North Dakota cause I don’t live anywhere else.

THIS PLANE HAVE ONE MINUS : RUSSIAN Words "НЕ СТАНОВИТЬСЯ" print on this plane "НЕ СТАНОВИТЬСR" this words translate NOT STAND
ive flown my v1 with a 6000mah batt get 5 minute flight times lmao
Was it a freewing version ?
yEaH eXepT iTs nOt sCalE!
i cant land rc planes
Why’d you take out the flex gyro? Should I take it out of my FMS Pitts? 🫤
Personal preference. 👍
Good job. 🥲
Now I am in an urge to get one.
