Maybe a video on the history of Orido Manabu as he's appeared in other videos of yours in one way or another. Been curious to find out about his obsession on Supras and his street racing past.
Recently discovered this channel and it quickly is becoming one of my favorites on the tube. Great stories, told in lots of detail by someone who clearly puts in a lot of work into getting the facts and getting them right. Keep it up.
Seems like a decent guy that realized he can make buckets of money by adding theater and "Japanese guru" bullshit to work he loves. He still works on the cars and lets other people manage the circus around him. Clever approach. I really dislike the poser builds that seem to be majority of what his customers want. Hats of to anyone that takes his/her car on a track and beats on it. Especially if you are wiling to scrape the hell out of 30k bodykit. 😉
So I went to the first ever RWB Utah build in October of this year, and it was such a cool experience! I paid $5 to get in, for both days. The build I attended was limited to like two hundred people or so, so it wasn't as crowded as I was expecting. There was also merchandise for sale too, but not a whole lot. I spoke to some friends of the guy who was getting his car built, and was told it was 40K for the body kit AND for Nakai-san to fly out to install it; also, he waited 5 years for his turn. Watching Nakai-san do his thing was super cool, and at the end I got my 1/18 scale model of RWB Stella signed by the man himself! The build was named RWB Gundam. If I had the car and the money, for sure I'd get the RWB treatment.
Excellent vid as usual from HM! It’s so awesome to see all of this history is one video (I came up from the magazines). I get everyone has their own tastes (especially with cars) but to not atleast respect what Nakai-San does is insane!! I always liked 911s but once I got hip to RWB I became obsessed. The work ethic coupled with the creativity was such a breath of fresh air at the time!
I'm really torn on RWB. I absolutely love the style Nakai-san builds, but even if I could afford a vintage Porsche, I don't think I could bring it over me to have someone cut into it. There's only a finite number of these cars in the world, and it's most likely getting smaller every year, willingly having someone destroy it, no matter how cool the outcome is gonna be, seems idk, kinda silly?
Love your style man, the retro vibe of your documentaries is excellent. Always excited to check out your newest video for inspiration for future models I want to build.
YESS! Thanks for another fantastic video. This is probably the only channel where I watch AND rewatch your videos multiple times. You keep making them and we'll keep watching them...and rewatching them. :)
Incredible work as always! i thought i knew quite a bit about Akira Nakai san but I learned a lot of new and interesting things, especially from his earlier years. Maybe next video should be about the RUF's history or some of the most legendary and iconic D1GP teams?
absolulely amazing video! i love rwb since i was a child and the hype lately has been crazy, love to get such a high quality video so everybody gets to know a lil bit more
Great video man. I appreciate what RWB does for Porsche. It reminds me of the Gemballa cars or the koening cars from back in the 80s. I can see how this isn't for everybody but I think it's cool.
I was on the verge of really disliking Akira due to some recent builds. BUT it's really some of the customers who have him build cars strictly for show, the ones who actually drive/race them are the real MVP's (aside from Akira himself of course). After learning more about him, and his beginnings, it's safe to say that his success is a lot more understandable.
First time I ever saw one was about 8 years ago Racing Rivals a dead mobile drag racing game added the Rotana. Was absolutely aghast when I saw it. The more I looked into RWB and Akira Nakai I ended up falling in love with RWB.
When I first saw RWB’s, I’d seen the non-riveted wide-bodies and adored the flush but wider stance of the 911s, and thought it looked very cool. Though now I’m a bigger fan of the more stock look… maybe with flaring for wider tires. I wish to buy a 911 or 964 too in the future. Respect for Nakai’s work, awesome video!
Jamaica is everywhere. We don't even have Air Jamaica anymore, but he has the "air Jamaica" logo on his case. Hopefully I can afford Akria Nakai to visit Jamaica for a build.
Back in 2015, I managed to get a steering wheel signed by Nakai-san during one of the earlier builds in the Vancouver area. Since then, my dad and I had been to most of the builds prior to 2020. One of which became an all hands on deck affair to get a few cars finished for the local Driven show.
SileightyMania podcast just did an interview with RunningFree86 where they discussed a bit more of Nakai-san's early AE86 drifting history. Super fascinating stuff seeing where all these legends of that era got their start on a passion that stayed with them even if the AE86s did not.
I love this channel. I have been watching since early days. I wonder if this video will change my mind about RWB. Before going in, my opinion is that RWB is for hypebeasts and clout chasers. Edit: After finishing, I have more respect for Nakai as a builder of fast cars on his own. I'm happy he was able to make a living doing what he loved. That said, $45,000USD for a non-CFD, non-windtunnel tested body kit is more style than substance. Loved the video and face reveal.
I gotta know where you can find photos of Akira’s personal car before the days of the RWB kit. Back when it was silver or green and it didn’t have the wide fenders.
Wow, you really are an OG sub! That's the same car as in this video, just a replica 930. I was told a real 1987 930 was in a head on collision, so the fenders, 3.3L turbo engine and some other parts were swapped over to my car. I've just freshened it up a bit and threw on a k27 turbo leftover from the Speed Academy 930. Thanks for supporting the channel all these years!
You should do a video about your own Porsche. Also while RWB is iconic and very sought after, there's a lot more you can do with the 911 platform. With much less money, too.
great video and I just realize I might met you in the past couple builds happen in the 6ix! Can't wait for more videos from you! I've been at the first RWB build in Toronto and that car quickly sold to my friend, then the second one was in KW, met Nakai san then and saw him build the grey one in the shop and fix the blue one came over from Quebec City. They said there're 2 more build in 2025. Just out of curiosity, if you have the funds, would you build your Porsche to a RWB?
I've always used the RWB kit as a race car kit for builds on forza but hey its not bad look in my opinion and the RWB Beetle is something crazy but looking at the history gives more respect for the guy may have to build something special to me just to see what i can make work for a porsche as its a brand i am rough on especially making run right
I've ran the gambit of loving his work, to hating it, and now back to respecting it. Not so much the goofy fan fair. Its still just a dude putting a body kit on a car, stop crowding it up. Its weird. Thanks for another great video.
What I dislike the most about it becoming "cult status" are the people jumping on the bandwagon. Here in Germany Sidney Hoffmann secured the rights for RWB builds years ago. But to my knowledge, correct me if I'm wrong, the cars are to this day not fully road legal and can only be used with dealer plates. If that's not the case anymore please somebody let me know - but until then it's kind of a waste in my opinion to have Nakai build these where you can't use them without strict legal limitations besides the existing practical limitations like ground clearance and the sheer value at risk of being damaged.
honestly at this point nakai probably prefers working in a small garage with just the owner. no fancy chair needed just two porsche bros cuttin up a porsche
I hope you enjoyed this dive into RWB! What video would you like to see next?

Please some about african or south american automotive stories... Please ...
About what i don't know 🤷♂️ but there must be something interesting
Talk about the history of re amemiya, we already talking about rwb so why not re amemiya.
Maybe a video on the history of Orido Manabu as he's appeared in other videos of yours in one way or another. Been curious to find out about his obsession on Supras and his street racing past.
Yes! We got a new Hunters Moon video!
welcome back bro you are in my opinion one of the best short documentary channels
Agreed
HM is the automotive goat on UA-cam for stories. Vinwiki could never make something this interesting ever.

Recently discovered this channel and it quickly is becoming one of my favorites on the tube. Great stories, told in lots of detail by someone who clearly puts in a lot of work into getting the facts and getting them right. Keep it up.
RWB is good but autogarage TBK will always make the best looking bodykits
Definitely right.
Subjective, but they are both legends(! It's always a fine day to see an air-cooled Porsche cruising with style
Don't change a thing bro, your hard work shows in your passion for documentary. You may be underrated but we keep coming back.
Always a good day when HM posts a new video!!
Ooooh, this is gonna be a good Saturday! Lemme get my popcorn...
finally a good video appreciating his Corolla roots
Seems like a decent guy that realized he can make buckets of money by adding theater and "Japanese guru" bullshit to work he loves. He still works on the cars and lets other people manage the circus around him. Clever approach.

I always enjoy how in-depth your videos go and the deeper story which might have been forgotten due to popularity and mainstream appeal

THE BEST CAR STORY DUDE EVER, no one compares man, I adore your videos
Love your style man, the retro vibe of your documentaries is excellent. Always excited to check out your newest video for inspiration for future models I want to build.
God i love your vids my man!
YESS! Thanks for another fantastic video. This is probably the only channel where I watch AND rewatch your videos multiple times. You keep making them and we'll keep watching them...and rewatching them. :)
You make the best videos man. Your channel deserves an easy 1m subs
Probably your best video yet, your personal experience with Porsches and Nakai San really adds to the charm
Incredible work as always! i thought i knew quite a bit about Akira Nakai san but I learned a lot of new and interesting things, especially from his earlier years. Maybe next video should be about the RUF's history or some of the most legendary and iconic D1GP teams?
Yes finally..I love motorsports,as a 93 s13 owner I appreciate and the enjoy your content alot keep them coming 🔥

I like the smooth body look without the rivets. You keep growing this channel and it may buy you that RWB kit in three years….
Great video🙂👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great shit, as always!

met the legend one time

Babe wake up a new hunters moon vid just dropped!
Like fine art, it is awesome to be able to enjoy vehicles without needing to own them.
Every time I watch a video on this channel, it makes me want to start a new project car.
An early Christmas Present new vid!!!
Let’s go!

Bro Remembered his password lol but great video bro keep up the good work
Love this
PEAK HAS POSTED
Xmas came early this year.
Yes my favourite bodykit kit in all time is RWB and also i like RWB porsche modified into a racing track car monster.
HE'S ALIVE
I love this channel. I have been watching since early days.
I wonder if this video will change my mind about RWB. Before going in, my opinion is that RWB is for hypebeasts and clout chasers.

There is a RWB S15 features in Jason Mewes movie Madness in the Method. Caught me off guard and I loved it!
I gotta know where you can find photos of Akira’s personal car before the days of the RWB kit. Back when it was silver or green and it didn’t have the wide fenders.
God video man
No way. I was there when Adamae was built. I have a tiny piece of the fiberglass of the kit. Gotta find it now.
What’s the chance we can see Hunter Moon cover another polarizing Porsche figure. The Urban outlaw
Magnus Walker
You threw me off with the Mexican Coke statement in the beginning.
Please something about Spoon Sports.. and great video
Hunter, OG sub here. What happened to your 930 Turbo?
Wow, you really are an OG sub! That's the same car as in this video, just a replica 930. I was told a real 1987 930 was in a head on collision, so the fenders, 3.3L turbo engine and some other parts were swapped over to my car. I've just freshened it up a bit and threw on a k27 turbo leftover from the Speed Academy 930. Thanks for supporting the channel all these years!
@HuntersMoon you had a c10 too right
I was literally thinking yesterday I wonder what Hunter's moon has been upto its been a while probably a banger, I was right
im not joking i looked about 1 and a half hour ago if you uploaded anything new that i missed. what a coincidence this is.
You should do a video about your own Porsche. Also while RWB is iconic and very sought after, there's a lot more you can do with the 911 platform. With much less money, too.
great video and I just realize I might met you in the past couple builds happen in the 6ix! Can't wait for more videos from you!

Here we go! Been waiting for a video for some time :)
thanks
While I wont cut up my 84 turbo look, if I could find another decently priced G body it would be a dream to have an RWB
Yeah!! Hunters Moon is back!!
Is there ever gonna be a community discord server in the future maybe?
Never clicked so fast in my life 😂
Nice 👍
Air cool life king 🤴🏾 😎
Bro what town are you in i also wanna meet Akira Nakai pls
I've always used the RWB kit as a race car kit for builds on forza but hey its not bad look in my opinion and the RWB Beetle is something crazy but looking at the history gives more respect for the guy may have to build something special to me just to see what i can make work for a porsche as its a brand i am rough on especially making run right
Love from Pakistan brother ❤❤❤
MMMMMMMMM TONIGHT IS GONNA BE GOOD
Looking forward to your next upload. Not watching this one.
Can we please have a video on the Millen family dynasty they habe goat status in NZ but all we talk about now is RedBull athletes
$30,000 won't get you very far on the 911 options list so that's not a bad price tbh.
I've ran the gambit of loving his work, to hating it, and now back to respecting it. Not so much the goofy fan fair. Its still just a dude putting a body kit on a car, stop crowding it up. Its weird. Thanks for another great video.
I love Nakai and his work. Also, mine will be white and named "Cocaine" ..
Respect!
Please tell us the Pagani story!
Here we go!
I think your dad is right. It’s become a circus.
And those prices for a bit of fibreglass adds to the circuse.
What I dislike the most about it becoming "cult status" are the people jumping on the bandwagon. Here in Germany Sidney Hoffmann secured the rights for RWB builds years ago. NEW HUNTER’S MOON VIDEO?! SINCE WHEN?!!
Lets go, lets fucking go
Not the face I expected to see with that voice. 😅
I respect his job... but it makes clear how ignorant some owners are about their cars.
