And now currently, the test unit is sitting in display at the Pagani museum with supposedly 1,000,000km clocked on the odometer. The car is now dubbed as the Pagani Zonda Le Nonna.

Horacio's story has been covered by global media several times, but this is the first time I see his origin properly covered. Greetings from Argentina, where all our stories start with nothing but a dream, just like Horacio's.
This might be one of the best origin stories I've ever heard. One man creating a car so beautiful while still being an actual good super car is incredible and walking by the Pagani showroom always brightens up my day, even tho there are never more than 1 or 2 cars there to look at.
It really is an intriguing origin story for sure. Right up there with how the guy who designed the McLaren F1 based the design off of the Acura NSX which was his favorite car.
Walking by their showroom sure would brighten my day as well , I’m 61 yrs old and would sweep their showroom floor just to walk by those gorgeous automobiles !!!!

Lots of companies have fought tooth and nail to enter the hyper car realm, but only a few have succeeded of late. Bugatti did it with raw power, German engineering, and immense funding, Koenigsegg with unparalleled engineering and a huge dose of Scandinavian madness, and Pagani with pure Italian artistry and passion. It feels like a new company tries to enter the field every week, and dies just as quickly. It takes something special to make a hyper car company from scratch.
Also i would like to add that we still live in ice age tech wise....all these "companies" are just shiny smoke and mirrors for the masses to follow. We should already be flying right now men...
Koensiegg and the way his engineers attack problems is just mind blowing. I don't know what separates him and his team from others or if their culture is different. I just hope they never change in my lifetime, and continue to slaughter the engineering aspect of their vehicles. I also prefer Koensieggs looks. The Gamera is possibly my favorite looking hypercar. Would love to say, "ah I just drive a 4 seat 3 cylinder hybrid." With everyone thinking it is some slow car. Then pull up in one.
I'm a Lamborghini fan through and through, but it would be a crime to deny the things Pagani achieved with his beautiful cars. Heck, Pagani vehicles come right after Lamborghinis for me.
I am a Lambo fan that also became Mercedes fan... And guess what. Pagani ofc, it has the top of the lane Mercedes engine. It has the crazy extraordinary style that I love in Lamborghini. And it has something special. How not to love it? They need to make a movie about Pagani too (like about Lamborghini). Those cars inspire so many kids around the world... And now Gordon Murry made GMA. I can't wait to see them next to Pagani, Lamborghini, Mercedes, Ferarri and the others. The list is big and getting bigger. I just hope V12's are kept alive, because the sound is unbeatable. 👌🏻🔝
Same here. Every video has been a joy to watch. I feel lucky that he popped up on my feed a short time after the first video. Who else do you enjoy? Doesn't have to be about cars, just curious to find more top tier storytelling
I'll never forget discovering Pagani for the first time through racing games when I was just a toddler. Such a beautiful brand with amazing cars, really appreciate watching you cover this story.
@@freerunAR Discovered it through PGR3 myself, fell in love with the sound of the V12. That whole section about beauty over power really resonated because of that. Always love seeing peoples' stories with racing games!
This is what a car should be. Perfection doesn't exist, but this is damn close. Thank you Lamborghini for not listening to Pagani, without your screw up, we would never have gotten these rolling works of art.
Definitely work of art, rolling art for sure but I definitely am not one for Perfection. The last thing I want in a sports car is for it to be perfect. I want my sports car or exotic car to be something like in perfectly perfect you wanted to have its own kind of personality and characteristics where every single car is like slightly different so you have to get to understand it you have to get to know it I want a car where somebody else like family or something cannot just jump into it and just drive it away like you can every other goddamn car on this planet I want someone or rather I want a sports car or exotic car where I know all of its quirks I know all of its weaknesses but also all of its strength and on top of that that's what you get when you're dealing with a hand build automobile like Lotus and Lamborghini was back in the day.
This is the best video about Pagani that I have ever seen. I have discovered this channel and I've suscribed right away. Another car maker, Alejandro De Tomaso usually is regarded as italian-american even thouhg he put the argentinian flag in his logo. De Tomaso was argentinian born from an argentinian father.
As always, you do not miss a mark. Not in editing, narration, script, and over-all presentation. I find myself looking forward to every video, and re-watching the old ones. Looking forward to what you'll make next :)

Yeah, I have seen the copies too. Even my old boss copies me. It's flattering! Most, if not all art, starts as a copy, and through that practice many great artists find their own unique voice, so I don't really mind it!
The passion , the manner in which this channel expresses the Pagani is so captivating. A masterpiece in itself. Now i look with even more admiration for the Zonda.
What a wonderful tribute to Pagani. The way you so eloquently take us on this journey is truly captivating. The visuals, the music, the words you choose to speak - they are all so powerful and invoke so many emotions. Spectacular content, as always. You and your team deserve all the praise and success. Looking forward to the next one!
If I had to pick a hero, it would be Horacio. What an incredible person who will be immortalized by an incredible manufacturer. One of my favorite quotes he said in an interview is: “Every day I look at the way I walked to avoid repeating the same mistakes. If I’m wrong, I did it with the head, not the heart.” Great video, earned a sub from me
An impossible task, impossible achievement, executed by an impossible artist. Yet, here they are. The pure soul of what automotive greatness truly is supposed to be. Congratulations Horacio.
I can hand on heart say Pagani is the only automaker with truly no bad looking designs. Every iteration of every version of every model has been a masterclass in art and engineering.
I haven't even watched the video yet, and I already know it is going to be top tier quality. It is just crazy how you are freely handing over extremely well crafted documentaries like this for everyone to watch. Keep up the videos, I would never imagine making one this great.

Finally a video about pagani. I remember the first time I saw one, I was in Milan (live there so it's usual to see Ferrari's and lambo's) but when I saw a "Pagani Imola" 1 of 5 in the world my Jaw just dropped. True masterpiece of a machine.
Only one in a billion times you get someone special. Sir Pagani, thank you for your perseverance despite so many rejections. you are amazing. Art at is highest elevation indeed. Love from Africa.
First saw an zonda in Monaco during an GP weekend. Back then the 550 maranello was the typical Golf for Monaco. But damn did it look incredible. An few weeks later the magazines started to show it off.
You've done with this video what Horacio did with the C12. A work of art, with such beauty for which words do not exist. Truly I am in awe at the fact that you keep making better videos each and every time. The Tingles I felt for the entire last 5 minutes..... I thank you from the deepest parts of my soul. That was something else.
I was lucky enough to come across this video and all I have to say is you sir, have a gift! One of the best documentary’s I’ve seen. For a second I thought this was those mainstream channels. Looking forward to the next video and seeing this channel grow ❤
It's always nice to see people who share such passion and understanding for what a true supercar really is... Your videos just keep reminding me that there will always be people to listen to the music of roaring engines
Roaring engines and beating human hearts drive passion. Even in an all electric world, we will have driven people, and we will then have moving works of art.
Once again you knock it out of the park with a beautifully presented video. How you start off with nothing involving the car company yet nicely weave it all together is fantastic! I seriously cant get enough of your videos and look forward to the next one. This was a well done piece on Horacio and the path his life took to get to where he is today. His cars are pure automotive art and they may not be the fastest around, they definitely are the most unique and kept pushing the envelope, especially with the carbon fiber. Many people dont know the early life and how Horacio forged, or autoclaved his path to where he is now, they most certainly will now! Keep up the great work!!!!
When I was a kid, the instant I laid eyes on the Zonda, it instantly became my favourite car of all time, and as its legacy progressed it just became better and better looking. Pagani is highly likely one of the key driving forces that made me love cars like I do now. Just as a small aside, Squidd, the instant I saw the community post, I knew you'd do Horacio's story justice, and boy did you. I was captivated the entire time, with the excellent writing, editing, and flow, truly a beauty that would make Horacio proud. Marvellous work, Squidd's team. I look forward to the next jaw dropping video from you.
The pacing, the commentary, the music. It's like lost art from 2000s and before. This is how you make a video, a documentary filled with hype and enthusiasm putting the cars and people behind it on a pedestal to better appreciate it. This video alone convinced me why paganis are special the analogy to art pieces makes so much sense.
This video was a masterpiece. Same as before, the way you use words, the top tier visuals. And one thing you always do, is make me give so much more respect to the creators of the car brands. I always wondered why Pagani kept making different versions of the same car, but after this video, Pagani gets my most respect ever. True art. Thank you for doing these. We wait patiently every 2 months and you always deliver.
The interior of the first Pagani Zonda is one of the most gorgeous fantasies of car control ever come to life. The entire car is brilliant. But where the driver sits is like technical Heaven on Earth. Bravo.

Horacio Pagani is a legend, he made one of the greatest cars in the world, he gave up working for Lamborghini and made something even better, and he made the perfect super car.
4:26 this entire section had one of the most mesmerising themes playing behind it and do I need to mention how my heart was roaring with every word? The music, the script and the imagery provided, combine together in such an artistic way that you would think that all this is the creation of another Pagani.
its easy to impress the masses or the upper class individually, but to manage to impress both of them simultaneously is truely the peak of the Italian artistic design spirit
Pagani is basically what I wanted to be when I was small. Somebody working with dream cars, and dreaming them up later on. Even if I didn'T have the same life story, it is always nice to hear about those who do reach their dreams. Especially if the results are just as you described: Moving pieces of art
I shed a tear at the end of this video. What a work of excellence pagani is. And what a wonderful presentation of his mastery. Well done my friend. Well done.
Dear Mr The Squidd, I'm not able to give much. However, as a car lover that hasnt had much material to be excited about, hopefully, this small token will let you know that I am a huge fan and am thoroughly impressed with your videos. That said, I am baffled once again at car journalists' (apparently yourself included) fascination with Mr Pagani over Mr Koenigsegg. Yes, Paganis are stunning, beautiful, dramatic.... cars. There is nothing truly "original" about anything Mr Pagani has done. In my eyes, he is a very lucky car designer who has gotten way more publicity than he deserved. He drew fancier lines, was given a banging V-12, and basically put out a supercar with no originality whatsoever. On the other hand, and during those same years, Mr Koenigsegg dared the industry to ignore what he was doing at their own peril. He has manufactured bespoke supercars with his own engines that have nothing conventional about them. Fully homologated around the world, fully road capable supercars that have beaten the best in the game among the accepted brands. The battles for top speed, 0-60, are taking place between the mega manufacturer Volkswagen, and Christian Von Koenigsegg, a no name Swedish guy start-up who followed his dream to make supercars and not only did, he did them his own way! Yet its Pagani that got a seat at the table of manufacturers first? It always bothered me that Koenigsegg was essentially ignored by the Top Gear guys (probably because of his fight with Jeremy) while they praised THE other upstart of that time, that had nothing original about his vision other than being a better poster than a Lamborghini. Christian Von Koenigsegg, a truly visionary artist/engineer, simply doesn't get the respect and recognition he deserves. Jay Leno is the only "car guy" who has given him the proper kudos. (I don't know about donut media). I guess I'm just surprised to see yet another car journalist be more taken by a Pagani over a Koenigsegg.
Hey hey hey. No one said we’re putting Pagani over Koenigsegg here. We have love for all vehicles and try to give each story the love and respect we feel it deserves, but we don’t play favorites. That said, I gotta argue that Pagani isn’t original. There are literally no cars made quite like his. The designs. The interiors. The cutting edge composites. I think people see “oh it’s not his engine” and just write off every single other part.. but a car is more than its engine. It’s made of thousands of parts. It’s not just how fast it goes but what it triggers in you emotionally. Love it or hate it, Pagani’s designs are emotional and anything but cookie cutter.
@the.squidd you are, of course, correct. I don't call many cars "dramatic" and I didn't say it lightly when describing Mr Paganis cars above. Allow me please to clarify my comment. I have no idea what it's called, but (I believe it's in the Koenigsegg Regera) where Koenigsegg decided that instead of using a boring transmission to transfer power to the wheels, Christian Von K decided to develop (I think he calls it) a torque converter instead. I believe that Koenigsegg was the first manufacturer to include an electric motor to assist their bespoke engine. There are so many times where that company, upon failing to find a solution to a problem anywhere in the car industry, they just decided to create their own solution... and then got those parts homologated globally?! It's in that light that I choose to stand by my comment. As much as he might have improved it, Pagani didn't reinvent the wheel. Koenigsegg - absolutely did. And my problem is not that Pagani gets his fairly earned praise, but rather, these two manufacturers emerged on the scene at about the same time. They are both incredible, but only one really made something more than - another hyper-car, in my humble opinion. My real grievance, if I'm being honest, I really just want to see the justice that THE SQUIDD can deliver on my personal favorite brand. As it turns out.
@@l3uIletpoints hey don’t worry friend we will talks about eggs one day. I just also know everyone wants me to do it and I hate being told what to do. So just about when everyone forgets about it, I’ll make it.
This is a beautiful tribute to both Pagani and Fangio. The Zondas scorching engine note under acceleration was a great sign off @ 33:30 I was surprised how this vid made me emotional. Yet I feel inspired and strong about my own difficult career as an ageing engineer 😊
Being a self proclaimed car enthusiast, I am ashamed to say that I didn’t understand Pagani until today. It’s not necessarily that I didn’t know about the facts of his upbringing and road to respect and fame in the automotive world, but I didn’t understand his passion and motivation. I feel like I finally got to know someone properly now realising my ignorance, and this is a moment of shock and enlightenment that I have underestimated a god amongst us. Thank you
You know what, I was you before I started this vid. Never really cared about Paganis, never understood their absurd price tags, what the versions all meant, why they looked the way they did. The fact that Fangio lived to die a healthy man of old age, respected around the world, 5 time F1 champion, eventhough he had all those accidents means he is incredibly lucky. Specially considering how many pilots died every year in that era.
I kinda say it tongue in cheek. I've had a number of brushes with death (some VERY close) and always consider myself lucky, but when I tell people about it they think i'm incredibly unlucky. Glass half full / half empty kinda thing.

Can't believe he didn't show Pagani's stunning new showroom.

Have you covered Fiat yet? would love to see that. Always wanted a 124.
where I live. San Juan Argentina. It is where there is the greatest amount of Zonda Wind. Also here we have the Eduardo Copello "El Zonda" founded in 1967, which is one of the most famous racing tracks in Argentina. in 2013 approximately a pagani zonda came to that track
Again Squidd bringing my, and many others, favorite automotive content with the like of mustard's style of storytelling but more aggressive and intense but still understandable. This is the work of art we love, history of our favorite creations we see built in front of us told by people that have the same interests in a way like we were there every step of the way. Beautiful creation @THE SQUIDD. This is a piece of art the showed the greatest piece of art for us.
@@the.squidd I gotta say though, amazing video really. Dont mean to put down the great work you did, just couldnt help myself.
this documentry is a masterpiece. And the part where you described why it was named zonda, I got goosebumps. Great work man keep it up. 🍻
Fell in love with Pagani the second I laid my eyes on the Zonda and have loved it ever since.
I love the way you present these videos.
Going over all the fancy details whilst making it an engaging watch.
The choice of clips used and how everything is composed and edited really brings it all together.
Can't wait for more. :)
Thank you very much!
When the world needed him the most he returns! Great video ❤
Masterpiece documentary. Masterpiece Car.
Classic..
The way you explain, portret and breath life into things is truely inspiring and keeps me on the edge every single time. You sir have talent and i’m glad it’s used to praise the beautiful machines that these days tend to lose their colors and personality more often then ever before. Stay solid.
Wow, thank you!
