Broccoli can take considerable time and patience to grow and in this video I have outlined three mistakes to avoid when you finally get to the harvest. I had to learn these mistakes the hard way and I figured this video could save you some frustration when it comes to this wonderful cool season crop.
If you want to learn how to grow broccoli make sure to watch the video I posted last week called "How to Grow Huge Broccoli Crowns." It will get you up to speed so you can do the fun part and harvest tons of tasty florets!
    Hi!
My name is Justin and I have my managed my family's business (S&K Greenhouse) for the last 10 years! It is a local garden center in Shelby, NC that my family started around 25 years ago.
We have a strong desire to discuss and teach gardening to the online community and welcome anyone who wants to learn. Though we have been involved in the plant world for decades we have found that there is always something to learn when it comes to gardening.
Whether you are a master gardener or just starting out this channel is for you. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch our videos!

If the crown has bolted, and you chop that off, will more broccoli grow? Or once it flowers its done?

Every part of broccoli is edible. The roots, stems, leaves & head are all edible but trim outside of stem because it can be tough.

    New sub from Australia.
I grew broccoli on the edge of our septic run off, in heavy frost region, without ever knowing we could eat the leaves too so thankyou for your video on that eye opener.
Each plant lived for a few years & so did the coliflower & I wonder now just how many vegetable leaves are edible.
I've heard that carrot leaves are but am dubious to try that out until doing the research on it.
    Great video's so far. Thanks.

First time growing broccoli here, and we had some hiccups, plus the hot weather. We've got 4 crowns, now, at about the size of a golfball (a couple of smaller ones, too) and not sure how big they're going to get. Hoping I can get this done right.
