I love this pattern, I wear it for airsoft and get laughed at a lot, but when it works better than the type 95, flecktarn and multicam that are popular here I am the one laughing!
If you look at it even from standart airsoft fighting distance the red disappears and blends into other colours while making interesting almost 3d effect that breaks up the outline better than most other patterns.

Actually "Leibermuster" was the Name for the original pattern from Germany during WWII. One of the companies involved in developing was called Hellmut Leiber and Leiber ("Leib") can also refer to the German word for Body, so it´s also a little Pun.... And the red and brown tones in the German Camo-Patterns from that time come from the fact, that Germany was already in developing IR-Scopes etc. and that was considered when developing those patterns. You still see it in the Flecktarn....

Marpat is probably better in that regard because way more brown. But I am not a fan of digital camo. It looks cool and works well up close but have heard because of the small pixels from a distance appears as one color and actually draws your eye to it unlike more separated pattern like flecktarn, dpm, multicam, etc. I don't like multicam because you need to be lying down in dead grass for it to work and ya then it's 'the best' but everything works when lying in long dead grass
