- In today's video, I decide to take it easy, instead of a hardcore ironman eu4 challenge. I start the game with maximum technology, or all techs unlocked, giving me military technology 32 and a significant advantage over my neighbours... as well as the imperialism and nationalism casus belli! Here's the thing though, apparently the game doesn't like this happening and there's a cheeky little failsafe in place...

They wrote in the patchnotes that they removed it from humiliation cb but they removed it from conquest cb instead. I mean it wasn´t even possible to vassalage in humiliation cb anyways sooo....

Guilty as charged. I swear, the hard part about Paradox games is making sure you don't abuse the console commands.
I never used the console commands before, but after watching this I think I will for once. I was thinking about role-playing as a nation whose leaders came from the future and taught the advanced technologies to their people. Might also play on hardcore and use the console to give the other AI countries a lot of bonuses so the game is not too boring.
@@yuuta6563 careful on how many countries you give the bonouses to, to many and game will be dead by 1500
historical accuracy is the best part of EU4 after all...

I have a great video idea for You. There is a mod in EU IV "x10". It gives all idea groups and national ideas x10. It might be very funny.

Play as Ulm with all techs unlocked, all ideas done, some 999 999 999 999 generals, full army drill and full professionalism and try to conquer tge world in less than 150 years.

From my experience the lag during a coalition is when you have you troops selected. So what I do is select them, wait for it to stop lagging real bad and then put them on there way and go out of the army stack screen
How about a challenge where all the AIs start with tech 1?

annex more than half of HRE and still has a smaller coalition than if he would add Switzerland to the empire through the "add to empire" cb
Overextension events are brutal. Do not go over 100% if you don't want them. I hate the separatism event when I have a huge empire and they revolt on an island far away from my nearest holding.

I believe it's a bug. They only meant to remove it for the Humiliation CB, but accidentally removed it for every other CB as well.

At 8:55 as for the ottomans its because they are of the other faith so no AE against them unless you attack them, then it starts counting for thier religion

For people reeeing about him choosing Imperialism over nationalism, he was clearly just generating more AE on purpose to give the AI a chance to coalition him because what fun would the video be if he just map painted faster than the AI could generate a coalition
10:33 Game just drops fps to 2-3 when you select a unit while at war and that is a bug. I have the same issue and apparently a lot of people on reddit too.
Better Ulm would be too much for any system to handle

There is a mod for that. "Always War", with an event added that auto declares on any country you share a border with.

An ingame tech cheese is going as milan and getting level 4 hill/mountain forts in the entrances to italy via mission ages before the tech for them comes. If you get the right military ideas and are ahead in tech (easy with the republic), you can literally fight half of europe and ignore ae as you conquer all of italy
How about trying to make the worst nation in the worst possible start, as if your sanity hasn't died already

There is this mod for Hoi4 that puts DC in Germany in a year before America existed. You should do something like that in EU4 with the goal being to make all of Europe American.

I think it's a bug on the game version that you're playing. Had max tech start game and reached all the way to 1600 with no lag like that even when fighting massive coalitions.

I rushed formed Rome once as Naples and I had coalitions from the new world even tho I never took any lands from the new world. Anyways I failed. Definitely can form Rome and I’m still strong enough to play through but I doubt I can form Rome by 1600 in that campaign anymore
It's quite important in a Naples to Rome campaign to fight the ottomans early game and take Byzantium and Bulgaria as vassals since it will take a while to annex a powerful ottomans

Coalitions seem to be a bit broken in the current patch, simply selecting your army even whilst paused absolutely kills the game if you are at war with a large amount of people. Like will run perfectly fine speed 5 or whatever so long as you dont select the armies, completely taking away the fun of fighting a coalition when you intentionally triggered it (such as taking a huge amount of HRE land)
That's probably why the game crashed, and why its so laggy in coalition wars (like more than you would expect even if the troops are less)

So for some reason i was playing as malacca forming malaya and ottomans did something that made the hole world mad with them so they got attacked by every single country on earth even the natives, anyone knows what happend ?

The game lags out when you are at war with someone who has a lot of units and you selec your units(just some of the units lag when you select them ), it s some new bug with the new dlc it s annoying asf

i have an idea, what about a normal game but the institution swawn is randomly generated (and spreads only in near provinces)
