    Doug, anyone that has watched you for any time KNOWS that you wouldn’t do ANYTHING that’s not “up to code” in your constructing of the mobile home. You’re so “low key” and “calm” that you don’t show your frustrations with some of the comments you must get. I think that because you are that way they don’t bother you as much. I think it would drive me bonkers! I think you’re doing a fine job as you have done in the past and I’m looking forward to every step!💕

      @brucevallee ● I 10000% agree! Eevee and Doug definitely know more about quality construction and salvaging properties than any Contractor I have hired or that discussed projects with me. They definitely have more skills, knowledge and common sense than anyone I know. Eevee and Doug are amazing, there's no challenge they cannot overcome. And they are outstanding parents!

    I've seen and been involved in a lot of remodels/renovations, but I've never actually watched the entire process of electrical wiring being installed. And the only reason I did this time is because it was on DIYfferent otherwise I would have passed it up.😊
    As quickly as possible, I wanted to share something that I thought the kids might enjoy doing since they're both so creative. You may already be familiar with the process --it's a very old technique. But if you take a cheap loaf of white bread and remove the crust, break up the bread into small pieces and drizzle Elmer's white glue over it-- it will make a puddy that can be shaped into practically anything you want. It makes really pretty roses. I used to make them a lot. You let them dry completely and then paint them or you could add food coloring to the dough and put stems ( before it's dry)if you want. I also would make sunflowers, toy food like hamburgers etc. for my daughter to play with. I thought Belle might like to try making flowers or even bug models 😊 and Maverick could make dinosaurs if he likes dinosaurs 🤷‍♀️ or turtles, robots, anything really. In fact, I think you would all enjoy doing it together just for something fun to do as a family. I've even made roses and rosettes and used them as molding on a piece of furniture I was refurbishing. Same for old picture frames. Just stain and varnish or paint after the molding dries. Anyway, I just thought perhaps the kids might find it fun to do.
    You guys have a nice day!
    Smooth exit Maverick!😊
    Bye kids 👋 have fun!

    There are so many “couch” contractors who think by watching your work ethics they think it is ok to make stupid comments. If they knew you at all, they would be in awe of all you can do. I started watching you with the red and white single wide mobile home. I personally love how you have so many different floor plans for the homes you are renovating. The home in Michigan was so different in style than your Florida home and now the now the mobile rebuild.❤❤ and in my opinion at 73 and have helped in remodeling homes with my husband for over 40 years you are amazing👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️❤️. I have that exact wire stripper and I absolutely agree with you. It always gets locked up on me and I don't catch it until I try to use it. The BLUE handled strippers by Klein don't do that, BUT, it does not have the insulation stripper part. However, it does have a 10-gauge stripper on it unlike the YELLOW handle one.

    This video was amazing to watch. Doug was in his element. I have never seen him as relaxed as seeing him run wire. His dad would definitely be proud. ❤ This video made me think of my dad when he would do work around the house he would scrape his knuckles from time to time. I would want him to stop so I could put a band-aid on it. He would keep working just like you. 😂😂❤

  • @denisewilson8367
    @denisewilson8367 3 місяці тому +2

    Yes, going thru the studs in the kitchen was a smart move. You saved over 8 ft of wire. That's a big savings on the costs. Using up the leftover spools from other projects was another savings.
    I really like those guides in the breaker panel instead of knockouts. It seems like it makes the panel neater.
    That was a good days job done well. I'm sorry but I do agree with a lot of other fans about needing a kitchen window. I like natural light and not needing to turn a light on during the daylight hours to work in an area. Besides feeling claustrophobic when having to stare at a solid wall. I do too much cooking, food processing/prep, and preserving. So I spend a lot of time in my kitchen. I like to look out onto the back of my property while in front if my sink. But this is your house and not mine, and you don't need the window for your tastes.
    Goodbye Eevee and Maverick.

    FYI when I'm working on outlets I will label the inside of the outlet cover to let me know which breaker to turn off. It makes maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting easier later on.

      I like the idea, but if covers got switched around I do see potential risk. Perhaps labeling the electrical box itself would be a safer choice.
