A security issue I recently came across on the transit series, Well worth a watch if you own any type of Transit Van. Link to Loom Guards www.geminikart...
Brilliant, I’ve had 4 separate attempts on our long wheelbase hi top Ford, all at the side door but we had fitted shot bolts x2 and the scums attempts failed. We will fit these or similar on that van. On the standard van (also Ford Transit), we have the Ford system on the side door but no protection for the loom sleeves, so that will get attended to, thank you for highlighting that area of weakness
Thieves will try anything, aye, and if they can't take what they want, they'll be sure to cause you an arm and a leg in damages! Good on you for bringing this to the public's attention, mate. 👍🏽 This is something that Ford should have done via t.v, radio and newspapers...
Hi Bill you are dead right mate, as soon as I found this out I had to do something about it, Ford have had years to make this right. but had to get it out there for the transit owners who were not aware of this.
Ford should of had a recall to fit these, transit no more secure than a tent😠 Have fitted these on both rear doors and dead locks to mine, after it had been broke into, thanks Ford.
Hi Karl, one good thing I have added is a 2 way alarm which will page my keyfob (upto a mile away) if my alarm is set off, and I have microwave sensors fitted. it will send a warning even if they are hanging around the van for too long, does work well.
I have a Mk6 van with a newly fitted lock to the passenger slide door. Worked fine mechanically but when I tried the central locking, it locked and won't open. It's been suggested that it's a wiring fault but for now, how can I open the door? It's just this one door that stays locked...all the others work fine. Witch wires go to and from this door? where is the most likely place/area to find a wiring fault? Cheers John.
I have a mk7 swb and the spare wheel security bolt hits under the rear door when I try to close it. Of course I fully drew it in . So l have to leave it out! Any one had this issue?

In all honesty, well in my opinion, I think these steel plates should be given free to Transit owners! 🤔
That won't happen, but anyhoo...😉
@@Bill.L.Carroll Yes they should be factory fitted
Wasn't aware of this.. Cheers Gazo, ordering pair today.. now talk to Geminikarts and get your commission rates sorted!!! 👌😀
Morning Neil well worth doing mate would save alot of expense and hassle down the line if it did happen.
thanks for the heads up
Would also be worth mentioning about the teeth on the trimming belts shearing off on the transit cougar engines.
Attention la traduction est très surprenante et n’a pas toujours un rapport avec le sujet

These looms were designed to allow rescue services to open crashed vehicles in a hurry
Are you refering to rear doors?
Yes Kevin rear barn doors
Cheers.
I did go back over the video to see where i missed that part. My viewing was interupted at that moment.

Is it correct bolt ? have a look under the back end to see if you can see why its not going in all the way. sorry cant be any more help.
I ground it down some and it’s good now . I’ve ordered the loom guards into Australia. Just got a 2011 with 6k on it.👍🏼
@@Zedinator593 Glad you have it sorted. 6K that's not even run in yet. yes the loom guards are worth it for peace of mind.
