Thanks for watching Justice For All everyone. It's been a good run playing Phoenix Wright again. I'll be playing the final game in the Trilogy sometime next year when I feel like it. In the meanwhile, you're welcome to watch the entire edited series via this playlist. Myself and Cloé have worked incredibly hard on these supercuts for these games! ua-cam.com/video/5tUoqIcvG34/v-deo.html
Honestly very clever to have Mia possess Maya and look around so that she can then possess Pearl and report on her surroundings. It's a fun use of having two spirit mediums that almost makes up for the fact that they never try to channel the actual victim and ask what happened.
well tbf the last time they channeled the victim, it traumatized Edgeworth so badly that Phoenix changed his career and it became the catalyst for the entire AA universe
I believe Edgeworth’s case is a good show of why even the victim’s testimony can’t be reliable and this whole song and dance is still necessary. I’m also certain they’d either lie on the stand to blame someone they hate or protect someone they love/are denial has killed them, or they would genuinely believe they were killed by the wrong person. No AA case is ever that easy.
@crazyminegamer2339 yeah, three out of four of JFA alone's cases wouldn't have been helped by spirit channeling. Case 1's Dustin Prince was probably pushed from behind and never saw the face of his killer. Case 3's Ringmaster had something dropped on his head and likewise wouldn't have seen his killer. And case 4's Juan Corrida just saw Shelly de Killer and thus wouldn't have been able to tell us who hired the assassin.
it's not like its the first time a case has shown you who the murderer is off the bat. Both tutorial cases of aa1 and aa2 reveal the murderer in the opening cutscene, it's not necessarily about the destination, but the journey, in a way. In fact, several cases have the killer confront you before the final trial day, confirming that they're the real criminal. What makes ace attorney cases interesting is the how and why, slowly piecing together the bigger picture and figuring out ways to prove what you already suspect.
@@honkstheclown8631 2-4 is my favorite case because it sets the foundation for De Killer. SPOILERS AHEAD. In Investigations 2, De Killer was on the hunt for Di-Jun Huang's body double for being a disgrace and bringing shame on the De Killer name (also he was contracted by Simon Keyes to kill the real president, only to learn that he was already long dead with the body double running Zheng Fa) and during the attempted assassination at the Gourd Lake meeting in which a man named Ethan Rooke was killed (by a fellow bodyguard of Di-Jun Huang, named Horace Knightley) De Killer saves Edgeworth's investigation and gives him a vital piece of information, that he wasn't who killed Rooke. De Killer does definitely have a very unique moral compass, but it is as he said in 2-4, he does do his job with honor.
1:57:22, while I do admit that it seems quite funny that Phoenix is talking about the psyche locks so openly, I will say that it is one of my favorite scenes from the trilogy. Phoenix is so exhausted from this whole case that he no longer cares if he sounds insane or not, he only cares about Maya´s safety, and that is something that really surprised the first time I played it. It´s a desperate man dealing with a desperate situation.
Hey Edgeworth has that whole logic chess connect-the-dots puzzle thing going on so he really can't judge at this point (and later in T&T Edgeworth sees the magatamas power for himself soo)
so, we have “but why was grossberg at the boathouse” from the first game, and now it’s safe to say we have the “but why did engarde send phoenix to feed the cat in his home” from this game, oh boy
Still really gotta know how maya still stays sane after being accused for murder like 5 times and then getting kidnapped and about to be _murdered_ like man this girl needs a vacation
@@etourdie (potential spirit of justice spoilers) /// doesnt she also get accused of murder again? Im only up to aa5 so far but if thats true then poor maya lmaoo
@@Syllvie Naw. Maya? Accused of murdering someone? In an Ace Attorney game? In a region were there's a lot of spiritual energy? Couldn't be. And if she were accused of murder, I'm sure she would be awake and alert, able to testify as to what she saw
The amount of thinking and brain power RT was doing to try and fit all the pieces together to tie it all back to the Mafia as part of some larger conspiracy is the equivalent of that infamous Charlie Day Billboard meme and I love it!
@@sans5466 there's a show starring Charlie Day called It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. In that show there's an episode where he and his friend get a job in an office. He's working in the mail room and loses his mind and starts building this conspiracy theory about a guy called Pepe Sylvia and EVERYTHING is connected to him, like literally everything all comes back to this one man whom he then hallucinates and screams about. It's a very funny scene from a funny show and the picture where he's looking at a wall he's covered with pictures and string has become a meme of sorts. Just look up the phrase Pepe Sylvia here on UA-cam surely you'll find the scene and get a good laugh.
6:21 Pearl: "Um, Mr. Nick, is the dead person the nickel samurai?" Phoenix: "Huh, why do you ask?" Pearl: "Mystic Maya was rooting for him, so..." Y'know, that's actually a good point. EVERYONE that Maya has been in contact with has either been beaten, assaulted, murdered, accused of murder, accessory to a murder, or the murderer themselves. It's actually kinda concerning tbh
Wendy Oldbag is kind of an anti-Maya. Maya's favourites get accused of murder (Powers, now Engarde the Nickel Samurai), Wendy's favourites get to be the victims (Jack Hammer, now Juan Corrida)
The cut at 34:36 is so great. Edgeworth talking about how Andrew's copying her mentor to keep herself sane, and then immediately cutting to F. Von Karma, who is doing the exact same thing but with M. Von Karma, is such a wonderful touch. I don't know if that was intentional by Cloe or Dan, but that was very well done.
also gives new life to fransika's line about andrews being weak, and the eventual friendship that is implied in the credits as andrews gets a new pillar and fransika starts to move on.
RT's unbridled joy at seeing Edgeworth again makes me really happy. It's pretty much a complete 180 from Dan's (and most people's) reaction to him from cases 2 and 3 from the first game before he started to warm up to him. I think it's a testament to how great Miles' character is and how the writers made him seem grating to sympathetic to beloved in the span of 2 games (or 1, if you're me lol) (Edit: I dunno how the comments got to where they are, go down there at your own risk)
And the evidence will somehow end up incriminating her, because a body double committed the murder so it takes several hours of testimony digging to work out she was actually in the box, since she was knocked out at the time.
One of favorite details of this case is Adrian's and Matt's animations. Every character is this game has quirks and unique animations. Matt already has his "calling" animation quirk, so you think that's all he has. Adrian doesn't have many quirks besides playing with the card, so you think she'll get more when she starts to break down in court, when she is proven guilty. But then it's revealed Matt is the true bad guy, and has a entire set of evil animations. Very clever, AA team.
Another neat way AA uses animation: Polly! Yes, Polly only has one sprite, but it's *never shown to you* until you put Polly on the stand. They just fake you out with an evidence-style image of Polly, the same as Missile and Shoe use. You never have a clue the parrot is able to be cross examined up until it happens.
Hope everyone doing good and staying safe. If you need to talk to someone or need help, there are people who care. Sending support and hearts. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤️
Hey so, about the whole plothole about why Matt sent you to feed Shoe, there are lots of indicators to say that Matt didn't know that Maya was taken captive in his house. 1: Matt is completely unaware that you were sent as his lawyer by De Killer until you drop his name in conversation, when he suddenly changes his mind about you defending him, 2: De Killer was already feeding Shoe so there would be no reason to send you if he knew this, and 3: Matt doesn't seem to know the specific reason as to why you're forced to defend him until Pearl cries "Mystic Maya" while questioning him, and only after that point does he speak of you losing a friend. So stupid that you know this location by the pure chance of him asking YOU of all people, yes, but I think calling it a plothole is a bit of an overstatement.
Exactly! I always read it like this because not only Matt seems to be unaware of the kidnapping before hearing deKiller's name, it's also not very likely he and deKiller had any communication after the body was found and Matt got arrested, which made deKiller decide to kidnap Maya on his own. And as deKiller isn't actually his butler and is seen to have disguise/alias when in public, it's likely he never took that role in front of Matt and just lied to Phoenix so he would leave. Matt is also clearly full of himself so him making mistakes in his plans because of his ego would also make sense.
Its not so much a plothole as it is a plot contrivance. They couldn't think of a better way to get Phoenix to go to Engarde's house and they hope you don't think about it too hard. And considering how ridiculous these games are, this is pretty minor
i've always found it hilarious that this whole case ends up relying on the fact Adrian Andrews has a gender neutral name so De Killer slips up. if she had a more traditionally feminine name he could've kept the ruse going for longer. Also Fun Fact: in the original Version of this game there's a typo in the super depressing bad end that sucks all the sadness out of it. "The Miracle never happen" thus remains a classic AA meme
That could've always been rewritten to be him slipping up and referring to when he actually talked with Engarde. That's what I thought it was at first.
I feel like Edgeworth's "cheese with that vintage whine" joke didn't get the appreciation it deserves here. It's legitimately the best line in the game
No, it’s them hearing the cat’s signature meow over the phone, immediately putting 2&2 together for once and immediately call a police raid on the suspected area. It actually kinda shocked me how fast they took action compared to most situations
@@cjadams9658 Tbf that one stunt worked out really well for Phoenix in the end. Sure, he got punched in the face and accused of the murder, but if Redd White hadn't fallen for the taunt and testified in court he probably would have never been exposed as the murderer. Gloating to Vasquez and von Karma was definitely a mistake, though.
In a future case: Edgeworth: As you can see, we have decisive evidence showing the defendant with his hands around the victim's neck. *Dramatic confrontation music plays* Phoenix: Guitarists hold guitar necks all the time; are you saying that all guitarists are suspicious?
The main story of this game isn't just 'what happened to edgeworth', that's only part of it. Unlike the first game, the main story isn't some big long running plothtead, it is instead more of a character thing. The man story of the second game is one question: "what is Phoenix Wright's identity? what does being a defence attorney mean?" That's why it starts with Pheonix with amnesia, forgetting his identity and slowly regaining who he is, and its why Wellington says that big speech towards the end questioning Phoenix's identity, it's putting the idea to the forefront. In the second case we see phoenix recconnect with old friends, old annoyances and coming into conflict with Maya's past via her evil aunt. Here we see how he as, a lawayer, approaches his friends and the seeming vengaence of someone affected by his actions. In the third case we see how phoenix deals with a client who's not only a strnager and weirdo but is also not entirely innocent, and further shakes up the formula with a killer who is very sympathetic. Its also where its revealed what happened to Edgeworth (seemingly) and how it affects phoenix, making him bitter and lashing out by painting prosecutors in a bad light, making himself feel more justified and primed for the final case where everything is turned on its head. And so, we come to the final case. Here, phoenix is challenged by a client who IS guilty of the crime he's charged with. What will phoenix do? will he fight for a not guilty verdict no matter the cost and thus be no different from the prosecutors he hated and accused them of? Is he only driven by the wellbeing of his friends and not of anyone else? Will he choose a guilty verdict and lose? if he fails, how will it affect him? WHo is phoenix wright, ace attorney? that's the core plot of Justice For All.
I hated that stupid circus case but DANG if they didn’t have an interesting villain to reflect on! The entire game was kinda questioning Phoenixs morality. He accused a young girls mother of murder, a disabled man who was a victim of a lot of unfortunate accidents that caused him to go over the edge and who’s story is basically a Greek tragedy, and he was close to convicting an innocent person to prison while KNOWING who it really was! The entire game I was questioning myself and Phoenixs place in the story, and DANG was it emotional. Genuinely such an interesting game.
Also its pretty cool that the player chooses the final question of who phoenix is, by pleading guilty or not guilty knowing that justice will be served either way. Is winning the case and keeping that stellar record more important, or supporting the truth?
The whip lash between literally the worse case in the entire series with some of the worse characters in the entire series to one of the best cases in the series with one of the best supporting characters in Adrian Andrews is wild every time.
In the next game: Maya visits the Library of Alexandra. Afterwards, Phoenix has to prove that Maya never burnt down the library in question, despite the fact Maya is currently seen in the entire case with a lit lighter and a barrel of propane.

Yknow now that I rewatched from the beginning, the Feed Shoe loophole actually makes more sense. In the beginning, Matt didn't even seemed to know that Shelly had a deal with Wright, and Matt only accepted Wright as his lawyer when Wright said "de Killer". It does seem like Matt and De Killer seemed to have limited communication, maybe they have very inconvinent methods of communications to keep De Killer untrackable, and therefore they both aren't on the same page 100% of the time. It could be that Matt only knew about the deal later on without knowing the detail of where Maya was held hostage.

De Killer: "This is the first time my client has been accused of murder" The rest of the courtroom: **trying their hardest to figure out who his client is, in a trial where one man has been accused of murder**
dont forget andrews, the one de killer is framing. at the point in the case where he takes the stand, Phoenix has established the possibility that she did it. Phoenix is the accuser, making 2 people accused, only one of which could be de killer's client.
I imagine RT and De Killer would get along well. They would probably go and play Hitman together. I'd say RT would even record it, and post it on UA-cam. The title would be "RT and DK play Hitman to find out who's the best assassin".
I legitimately cannot tell if Daniel was serious or not about the mafia gambling ring betting on the results of children's show mascot popularity contests. His theories sound too absurd to be genuine, but he delivers them with such conviction that I just can't be sure.
I saw a comment on the vod video about feeding the cat. Their explanation was that it was a taunt. Matt Engarde, so sure of himself to a fault, sent Phoenix to feed his cat to mock him, as Maya was only two doors away. Matt also wanted to reassure his butler that he could still reveal him. I don’t know why everyone was so pent up on this, the real question is why was Grossburg at the boathouse
Well there's also the likelihood that Matt didn't even know that de killer took a hostage to get hire a defense attorney for him as Matt had no clue as to why Phoenix wanted to defend him until he accidentally dropped de killer's name
While I agree Matt is full of himself I think it's more likely Matt didn't know Maya was kept hostage in his home as it's very unlikely deKiller could've contacted Matt after the body was found and he was arrested.
Matt couldn't "*reassure* his butler that he could still reveal him", since the butler had no idea Matt had that intention until the videotape evidence was brought up. Though, I agree that feeding the cat would definitely work as a way of Matt just playing with Wright. I don't think it was intentional by any means; I think Shoe was quite literally shoehorned in to give a tie-in for "revealing" de Killer's location, but written intention versus read meaning aren't one and the same.

Edgeworth is forever and always my favorite prosecutor because he and Phoenix still respect each other, they’re don’t actually hate each other but it’s the sexual tension that comes from the arguing that makes this relationship so special
man this case is so unbelievably good. from how it completely turns the usual 'defending someone innocent' into something so different, to how it manages to be incredibly tense while literally naming the killer 'de killer'... and seeing edgeworth and phoenix completely in sync, completely on the same side, is so deeply satisfying after you spent all of last game finding out how much they mean to each other. and of course franziska is one of the best AA characters period. just... so much good in here.

@@YasEmisDaBusdefinitely, and I meant predictions like "Chat freaking out about shoe" "RT would select not guilty at the very end" "English major joke" Etc, etc. And not like, spoiler territory predictions
Yeah uh the first time they tried it in a trial it uh resulted in Gregory Edgeworth's death and the fey clan disgrace and dahlia becoming a demon woman and killing two people
Personally I still find it more satisfying to say engarde's guilty at the end. Yes it does mean engarde doesn't declare himself guilty out of fear, BUT it does lead to pheonix decalring "I cannot defend a clearly gulty man" and Engarde being in disbelief that after everything he's done to win, his reputation is ruined and his freedom is lost forever.
I like the option for not guilty more Nit just because yes it mean that if he possibly doesn't end up getting locked up, de killer will murder tf out of him, but also because I think it fits in another way narritively (both options fit very well narritively). He's so arrogantly seen himself as above or better than others and takes too much advantage of the influence he has and his pride makes him want to constantly lord that over those around him (take a look at his interactions with Phoenix and Pearl for example. He gloats about how much bad stuff he's done and even says "because i can". He puts Wright in a position that makes known to him that he is extremely stuck while Matt can just do whatever he pleases at this point and win). But in the end, those very same characteristics that even brought some to their deaths, turns out to be the largest bite in the ass he could've ever done, as his tendency to lord his power over others pushed him to record de killer so he could lord over the assassin. In doing that, he makes himself a target by that same assassin. Pleading "not guilty" gives him a HUGE "...oh fuck" moment in knowing for a fact that he isn't above others, especially in the moment. He becomes the most weak person in the room and desperately pleads guilty in an attempt to save his own life. It's extremely satisfying to see if you consider all of that lol. And very well put together when you think of how it causes his previous traits and actions to contrast COMPLETELY in every single way how he behaves and what the future may have in store for him lol.
Yeah, I really like pleading not guilty, just so Engarde gets absolutely monkey’s pawed. “Here’s the verdict you wanted. Hope it doesn’t bite you in the ass”
How fitting that the game where the final case is about trying to fight with whether or not you should convict Engarde should be called Justice For All
It fits with every case. Wellington was a scumbag who had it coming, Miney was a grief-stricken sister trying to get revenge on the doctor who killed her sister, Acro was a man only hanging on out of hope his brother would wake up, and Engarde blackmailed you into nearly convicting an innocent woman to save Maya's life.

Yeah, I kind of like that it gets brought up again. Like in a later case in AAI, Franziska is alarmed when Edgeworth mentioned the Nickel Samurai, meaning she must be traumatized since she was shot in her shoulder before that trial. A nice tidbit, I thought.
I think he had researched a little after the Gatewater hotel case in the first game, because he wondered why a lot of crime hotels in media carried similar names (that or chat told him) and I'm very surprised he remembered it :D That I'm misremembering the whole thing but-
I'm pretty sure in this game and possibly actual Japan, the prosecutor's office is in charge of the police. So the prosecutor gets all the information and also have authority over what the police do and how they do it. It's why the conviction rate is so high.
I believe Matt Engarde told the attorneys to feed Shoe because he didn't trust De Killer to do it - he got blackmail of him, after all. Matt's distrust of De Killer makes him his own worst enemy, at every turn.

@@TorrentialStardust potentially? I don’t know if he would be too far our family to be trusted with the handling of Miles’ belongings though. Usually it’s children/parents and siblings? 45:00 Lawyers in the United States have a duty of candor. They cannot lie nor can they elicit testimony they know to be false. Doing so would be grounds for disbarment. That being said, even setting aside the dystopian court system in these games, Wright isn't doing anything wrong by defending Engarde or withholding information that hasn't been requested of him. Wright, at this point, does not know Engarde committed a crime, and does not elicit any false testimony. Everyone has the right to a zealous advocate.
Petty dumb note: Shelly De Killer is not a serial killer, he is a contract killer. Now im not defending his actions by any means, but there is a difference. De Killer takes no personal pride in killing, he takes pride in completing contracts as he states as much. However in another ace attorney game. (Miles Edgeworth investigations 2) He states he dislikes unnecessary killing so its clear that he is indifferent to suffering of others thus making him at the very least a sociopath. That said, he doesn't seem to the exhibit the psychological impulse's or traits exhibited by serial killers. You may bring up the calling card, however that was not started by him as he points out "De Killer" is just a title that multiple people have assumed over the years. So potentially his predecessor may have counted as both a contract/serial killer but this one does not. Thank you for reading my stupid nitpicky complaint about a fictional killers title. Have a great day regardless.
@@orangesilver8 Not quite. Look up the definitions. For instance Joe Darke from the first game kills multiple people in a short period of time. He wasn't a serial killer despite the games mislabeling of him. Darke would be officially termed as a spree killer. Which is someone who kills at two or more locations with almost no time break between the murders. I hope this didn't come off as hostile or rude that was not the intent.
This case was absolutely insane; Maya being held captive by the known killer who was tesifying in court while on the run from Gumshoe as Phoenix has to sabotage the effort to prove his client innocent in a role reversal with Edgeworth. What a ride!
Realizing that the card at the very end, was in fact the drawing Maya drew while she was kidnapped to cheer herself up, after seeing this fight for Maya’s life and the emotional moments that ensued, was the tipping point that had me emotional. Even with RT’s comedic commentary and the ridiculousness of the plot itself, something about that card really, really drives the heartfelt story home in a way that reminds me why I love this game so much.
What I'd like to know is why the Judge isn't in on the whole kidnapping thing, I mean the trial would have gone a LOT longer and smoother if the Judge knows Matt Engard is holding someone hostage to declare himself guilty.
i feel like the second word got out to anyone who could actually do something about it, de killer wouldve killed maya. thats kinda the point of blackmail here i think
for as memey as a man named "De Killer" being an assassin and have a strange set of morals is, it's also important to remark that he got away with kidnapping, his little present for Phoenix and injuring three officers when going back for his stuff. he could've gotten away with shooting a prosecutor in an elevator without a bullet in his shoulder as well.
if i had a nickel for every samurai named after metal that got charged for murder in a case involving wendy oldbag and identity theft, i'd have two nickels. which isn't a lot but it's weird that its happened twice
This entire case made enduring Turnabout Big Top worth it. This case did the whole defending someone that wasnt a good person thing way better than turnabout big top did.
Franziska: One day Phoenix, we will meet again and I'll give you this evidence And thus Franziska and Phoenix never met again, and he never got the card
I like how sometimes RT can perfectly guess how the entire trial is going to go down, and other times he can convince himself of plot points that don’t exist.

it's not like its the first time a case has shown you who the murderer is off the bat.

@@ClownOwO the second case of the first game showed the murderer immediately
Honestly yeah, the ability to make an assassin named De Killer this intimidating is wild.

Having the card animation end up being a big clue is also inspired imo
Another neat way AA uses animation: Polly!
Yes, Polly only has one sprite, but it's *never shown to you* until you put Polly on the stand. They just fake you out with an evidence-style image of Polly, the same as Missile and Shoe use.

Same with De Killer's reciever
This man out here with the galaxy brain explanation. Well done.
Thank you. I hope Dan finds this.
Now I'm wondering what happens to shoe after the events of jfa
i've always found it hilarious that this whole case ends up relying on the fact Adrian Andrews has a gender neutral name so De Killer slips up. if she had a more traditionally feminine name he could've kept the ruse going for longer.
Also Fun Fact: in the original Version of this game there's a typo in the super depressing bad end that sucks all the sadness out of it. "The Miracle never happen" thus remains a classic AA meme

The main story of this game isn't just 'what happened to edgeworth', that's only part of it. Unlike the first game, the main story isn't some big long running plothtead, it is instead more of a character thing. The man story of the second game is one question: "what is Phoenix Wright's identity? what does being a defence attorney mean?"
That's why it starts with Pheonix with amnesia, forgetting his identity and slowly regaining who he is, and its why Wellington says that big speech towards the end questioning Phoenix's identity, it's putting the idea to the forefront.

And that's another reason why JFA is my favorite in the trilogy. Besides also having the best final case. And Fran.

Wright: "You literally have zero chance of giving a testimony without framing yourself, just admit your guilt."
Andrews: "Nah."

Even if I'm not heavily affected by those topics I understand how seriously it can affect other people and I'm glad Dan's as comprehensive and caring as he is.

man this case is so unbelievably good. from how it completely turns the usual 'defending someone innocent' into something so different, to how it manages to be incredibly tense while literally naming the killer 'de killer'... and seeing edgeworth and phoenix completely in sync, completely on the same side, is so deeply satisfying after you spent all of last game finding out how much they mean to each other. and of course franziska is one of the best AA characters period. just... so much good in here.

We are all different people, and it is a valid opinion.
thats the glory of the end, both options mean Engarde is destroyed
Thats literally his job to defend him.
I like the option for not guilty more
Nit just because yes it mean that if he possibly doesn't end up getting locked up, de killer will murder tf out of him, but also because I think it fits in another way narritively (both options fit very well narritively).
The fact that franzizca was shot in the right shoulder is funnier than it should be
It was kind of a way of saying "You'll end up like him if you continue this path, you muppet!" And in some ways she took the hint. While others she didn't catch a damn thing

WHOOOP
I think he had researched a little after the Gatewater hotel case in the first game, because he wondered why a lot of crime hotels in media carried similar names (that or chat told him) and I'm very surprised he remembered it :D
That I'm misremembering the whole thing but-
Gatewater... Watergate...
HIDDEN CAMERA? BLACKMAIL?
I just played through the entire trilogy and never made the connection until this video 😭
oh my god i just realized both cases so far in the gatewater hotel have involved information bugs
I'm pretty sure in this game and possibly actual Japan, the prosecutor's office is in charge of the police. So the prosecutor gets all the information and also have authority over what the police do and how they do it.
It's why the conviction rate is so high.
The main reason for the high conviction rate is that prosecutors will almost never pick up a case if they aren't 100% sure they can get a conviction
I mean there are plenty of other reasons about that as well such as suspects being allowed to be held in custody for 28 days without a lawyer
That was the perfect ending:
“Yes you see Phoenix, it was I…. actually, I retract my previous statement, Phoenix.”
Von Karma... Thank you.
I believe Matt Engarde told the attorneys to feed Shoe because he didn't trust De Killer to do it - he got blackmail of him, after all. Matt's distrust of De Killer makes him his own worst enemy, at every turn.

There are probably other members of the von Karma family still around, Miles is kind of part of them. We know Manfred has a granddaughter.
Also, in terms of other relatives, do you think Uncle Ray might count?
@@TorrentialStardust potentially? I don’t know if he would be too far our family to be trusted with the handling of Miles’ belongings though. Usually it’s children/parents and siblings? So the mysterious other Von Karma child that gave Manfred a grandchild would potentially have a right to handle Miles’ stuff, but due to their estrangement (we never really see them At All) I would guess they probably wouldn’t volunteer to sort his affairs?
45:00 Lawyers in the United States have a duty of candor. They cannot lie nor can they elicit testimony they know to be false. Doing so would be grounds for disbarment.
That being said, even setting aside the dystopian court system in these games, Wright isn't doing anything wrong by defending Engarde or withholding information that hasn't been requested of him. Wright, at this point, does not know Engarde committed a crime, and does not elicit any false testimony. Everyone has the right to a zealous advocate.
“PEARL WHERE ARE YOUR PARENTS- **Phoenix has a reverse aneurysm** oh right I put them in jail”
Technically anybody doing multiple separate killings is a serial killer.
@@robber233 Well that's what I meant. Joe Darke's killings weren't separate.

It's a brilliant reversal
Realizing that the card at the very end, was in fact the drawing Maya drew while she was kidnapped to cheer herself up, after seeing this fight for Maya’s life and the emotional moments that ensued, was the tipping point that had me emotional. Even with RT’s comedic commentary and the ridiculousness of the plot itself, something about that card really, really drives the heartfelt story home in a way that reminds me why I love this game so much.

for as memey as a man named "De Killer" being an assassin and have a strange set of morals is, it's also important to remark that he got away with kidnapping, his little present for Phoenix and injuring three officers when going back for his stuff. he could've gotten away with shooting a prosecutor in an elevator without a bullet in his shoulder as well.
