    As far as doing things early and as far as major car rentals I completely agree. I also want to add that if you book your rental car in advance make sure that it's free cancellation so that way you can constantly monitor the prices and cancel if you find something better for a car that you want.

    Was just in PR last October-November. Used National and only paid 500 including taxes and tolls. Was there 7 days and they gave me an upgrade on size for free. Was definitely worth it. Coming back to the island for 4th of July.

      I booked my flights to PR for May 5th to May 18th.. and i am currently struggling to choose a decent one but not so expensive.. For 13 days, so you think National is best and not Alamo?

    • @kennys3376
      @kennys3376 3 роки тому +2

      Nikki so National was great. When I booked this time (which was about a week ago) Enterprise actually gave me the cheapest rate for a standard SUV. All the other companies were like 800-1000 but i locked in a reservation with Enterprise for 4 something with insurance. Just gotta shop around

    Im going to Puerto Rico in a month and looking into Alamo. Between the add-ons they have, which one should I take? There’s Damage waiver, personal accident insurance, roadside assistance plus, supplemental liability protection. Or can I add my own insurance and that will cover all those add-ons.

    Great video! What do you suggest I do for renting a car under 25, I am 21 and the girlfriend and I are looking to go to San Juan the end of May? Is there any way we can avoid under 25 fees? How much do they average a day? Thanks!

    • @ChasingCoquis
      @ChasingCoquis  3 роки тому +1

      The one recommendation I can make is book your car as far in advance as possible. Under 25 always get a higher rate. But booking far out you have the chance to research and find a deal.

    Just got back from PR. Got to travel all over the island. Used Route/Allied. Total mess. Car had major body damage and had the check engine light on. Very inefficient. Total toll fees came to about another $86. Total for three days including the tolls and fees was $286.

      @@jessica82882 … Hi, I end up using Alamo rental. This was around mid month of May when I traveled to PR and rented for 2 weeks. So I reserved it probably end of April or beginning of May.. I would suggest to check with them immediately and reserved it because I don’t think they charge for cancellation.

      @@jessica82882 … Since we rented for about two weeks, I think it’s a reasonable amount for what we paid for. I’ll need to find the receipt. And Alamo was the cheapest I could find at that time too..
      I paid a deposit fee at the time of pickup too but it was later reimbursed.
      I was stressing to find a good price so I know I remember that Alamo was the cheapest to rent.
