Yeah, shes like the nation's aunt, who shows up to the BBQ uninvited, because Aunty Marg told her about it _for some fucking reason_ and you'd feel rude telling her to leave so she hangs around trying to lure people into conversations about her opinion on recent politics, or convince cousin Sharon to join her definitely not a pyramid scheme business.
The fairground insult is because a lot of Irish travellers run fair grounds here in the UK

@@nostalgia815 I've never been to a fairground that wasn't owned by Irish travelers... and every time one's in town, the crime rate massively spikes (caught someone breaking into my garage in 2019, got the van's numberplate which was traced to the fairground).

@@CoRLex-jh5vx There's actually one near me at the moment (finishing this week). I have always enjoyed them, been to lots. but... I've personally seen wallets/phones stolen as people get of rides, only for it to be denied when they are challenged and a group come to back them up. Some years ago when my dad was about 60 he wrestled an axe off a guy stealing tools and loading them into his van, same week the fair was in town (Very low crime area) I had a bottle broken over my head at one when I was about 18 for not handing over my wallet just after closing. I restored some CCTV footage for a friend showing an attempted break-in/snooping, the numberplate was again traced back to the fairground company, the police did not follow it further. and a few others.
These are all just annecdotal, maybe i'm just unlucky ...i'm a lot more liberal than my first post makes me sound :)

I dont know if you've ever seen Jimmy's stand up, but he loves to roast the audience! He's like kind of the comedic antithesis to what a heckler is. He's very interactive with them too, he'll ask them questions and seemingly come up with jokes on the spot.
Greg is in man down and does some excellent scenes with Rik Mayall from bottom. The swing ball scene is hilarious.

Yeah, Rik played Greg's dad which was genius because they share the same face. I thought they looked uncannily the same even before Man Down was first broadcast.
They replaced Rik's character with an aunt played by Stephanie Cole who was playing elderly women like 30 years ago!
Rik died when he was still doing the (Flashheart-esque) Bombardier adverts. Bob Mortimer was going to replace him but he had his heart attack. Bombardier adverts must be cursed!!

Edinburgh Fringe is the worlds largest Arts festival & stand up comedy has been a key element. virtually every comedian on British TV has done the fringe, as have several well known comedians in america (Robin Williams for instance did it in the 70s IIRC). Fringe is also what we call "Bangs" over here, so the joke is the last time Bill Bailey is so old, the first time he did the fringe, he still had hair.

The original show this is based on "Countdown" had a woman called Carol Vordeman as the letter/numbers girl. When she was replaced with a younger prettier woman, it was a big deal in the news as she had been doing it for over 20 years or something, but people quickly forgot her once they saw Rachael Riley.

Greig used to be a teacher before he was a comedian, and the funny thing is he's tended to be typecast as teachers in a couple of shows liek inbetweeners etc.... thats why that joke was so funny.

Greg Davies plays Head of Sixth Form / Head of Year, not sure if Head of Year is a thing in the US - although I know you use a grade system rather than years. Sixth Form used to be when you chose to stay on in Secondary School (Middle/High School) at 17/18 to do A-levels with the intention of going to University usually. Now it’s compulsory to remain in education until 18 or do something, I don’t know the details...
Anyway enough of my rambling, great video as always. Hoping Red Dwarf is on the list for sometime down the line, I think you’ll enjoy that.
