I dont know if you've ever seen Jimmy's stand up, but he loves to roast the audience! He's like kind of the comedic antithesis to what a heckler is. He's very interactive with them too, he'll ask them questions and seemingly come up with jokes on the spot.

Yeah, Rik played Greg's dad which was genius because they share the same face. I thought they looked uncannily the same even before Man Down was first broadcast. Edinburgh Fringe is the worlds largest Arts festival & stand up comedy has been a key element. virtually every comedian on British TV has done the fringe, as have several well known comedians in america (Robin Williams for instance did it in the 70s IIRC). Fringe is also what we call "Bangs" over here, so the joke is the last time Bill Bailey is so old, the first time he did the fringe, he still had hair.
Great reaction! Also, there is another video called Every Time Jimmy Carr made fun of Rob Beckett’s teeth. It has a lot more teeth jokes you might enjoy.
The original show this is based on "Countdown" had a woman called Carol Vordeman as the letter/numbers girl. When she was replaced with a younger prettier woman, it was a big deal in the news as she had been doing it for over 20 years or something, but people quickly forgot her once they saw Rachael Riley.
Let's not forget Greg Davies is the star of a TV show he wrote called Cuckoo that ended last year. A very British TV show that also starred Andy Samberg, Taylor Lautner and Andy McDowel. Actual actors lol.
3:45 saw that guy and he reminded me of a show I watched ages ago, maybe you want to check out an episode or something. It was called "Black Books" and I remember it being funny.
Greig used to be a teacher before he was a comedian, and the funny thing is he's tended to be typecast as teachers in a couple of shows liek inbetweeners etc.... thats why that joke was so funny.
Since you haven't seen Greg Davies in Man Down, I definitely suggest you checking it out. Either as full episodes or a shorter clips, or even just the outtakes/bloopers videos that can be found here on UA-cam.

Sixth Form used to be when you chose to stay on in Secondary School (Middle/High School) at 17/18 to do A-levels with the intention of going to University usually. Now it’s compulsory to remain in education until 18 or do something, I don’t know the details... Anyway enough of my rambling, great video as always. “Fringe” is the English term for what Americans call “Bangs”. Jimmy was making fun of the fact Bill Bailey is balding.

Jimmy made jokes about Carol Vorderman's age. She was the one who did the letters and numbers from 1982 until Rachel took over in 2009
Reginald D Hunter appears here and is one of your fellow Americans we've adopted to the UK- and is worth a look - his Apollo appearance is great, ^oo^

A fringe is what Americans call bangs!!!
We usually refer to the head of a school as the Headteacher or Headmaster.
Greg was a teacher before comedy.
A fringe is what you would call bangs
The Channel 4 clips always reference the joke at the end of the clip, with 9 minutes of unrelated comment before it.
Have you seen the episodes when John Cooper Clarke is in Dictionary Corner? The poems by Johnny Vegas and Joe Wilkinson are outstanding.
We call the principal headmaster or headmistress
Pretty sure there is an video where it is just insults about Rob's teeth. There are loads more than the ones they showed.
He's not the Principal on The Inbetweeners. He's the guy in charge of that year of students, the Sixth Form (17-18 year olds)
This, plus principal is called headmaster/headmistress in the UK
Principle isn’t unheard of but that job would be a headteacher in most schools
Principal, not principle, actually.
Fringe is the UK way of saying Bangs as in forehead hair.
And people are trying to ban this sort of comedy ha ha class
