I love my tornado with the large hoop and bigger three blade prop! Launches my 130kilo all up weight and 23m wing in nil wind with ease, climbs like a rocket and straight and level cruse flight is very low rpm/fuel burn. Awesome video as always, thanks Robbie!
Thomas, does it seem as thrusty as he is saying, I'm 130kg myself but hes a little 130lbs man vs me being 287, I'm over twice his weight, and I'm curious, because I wanna get in, but I have a feeling I'm gonna do a lot more kingsland take off. I'm in VA near all the bases so I'm gonna have to get away from them. Lemme know please and thanks
Joshua Boatwright it is thrusts but at our weight it just feels powerful and flys beautifully. The power just means better climb not faster. At our size the power is exactly right. We want a good climb. I take off in nil wind with a high wing load and the 280 is not too much.
Just ordered a new Tornado this week, the dealer recommended 2 blade just because it's cheaper to replace if you make a booboo for not that much difference in thrust. Glad to see you bring up these other benefits too.
love the info on the props. can you do video on the maintenance of motor itself? How well does it hold up? I'm just getting into ppg and weight 250lbs and in my mind the 280 (for my weight) will perform like the 185 cc does for people weighting 200 or less. I'm tired of hearing from people that have never owned a 280 on how they are crap. I would like to hear the ins and outs from people that own one. Sorry for getting off subject. Mark
Hi Robert. it's been awhile since my training. Still trying to get into the air. Now that I'm on a Trike, I need more room to practice my taxi work. So I'm looking into buying between 15 and 35 Acres out here in Northern Colorado. You'll need to come out in the summer during your break. I know you understand how tricky the winds can be out here in the mountain west. I took the summer off to get my house ready to sell. Ever think about moving to Colorado to do your training? If you had a permanent spot to train? Anyway... Nice video. Looks like a really nice day. I definitely recognize the spot. ;o)
@@brod5352 I'm about 7 miles north of Fort Collins. One mile east of I25. I fly from my property, open with no obstructions. PM me if you want to fly some time.
Nice video, thx. What's the latest on the electric units? Are they becoming more popular yet? Aside from being less noisy and having instant on and off.
Thanks for the video! What was your experience in noise between the two props. Was one quieter than the other or did you notice. I went from a helix two blade 125 centimeter to a eprops three blade 125 and the noise was greatly reduced. I have wondered if it was more the extra blade or just the difference between helix and eprops.
Interesting, I'm definitely interested in the least noisy equipment. But safety, smoothness, feel control and fun factors are also critical. Dankeschön
If the 3 blade will not let the engine get to red line, will that help the engine last longer? or is it 6 of one half a dozen of the other due to the increased load?
With the 3 blade you get less top RPM and full power at lower RPM. 2 blade continues power to max RPM smoother power curve, but you can operate the 280 with less RPM with the 3 blade so you get less fuel burn, less stress on the motor but more touchy throttle response.

How is your tornado? Any issues with piston and cylinder ?
Nice video... Always enjoy your videos... Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪
Thanks for another great video.
Thank you my friend.

I will try to put out some vids on rebuilding the motors/ clutch swaps and other how to vids very soon. Stay tuned.
The main reason I use the 3 blade on my nitro is that is helps dampen the vibration in flight of the motor.

Are you anywhere near Wellington, Co. I fly all the time...
Hey definitely let me know when you get a place in Colorado love to come out there and fly with you. Keep me updated. Robert.
@@FlyHighParamotors Will do. I'm going to start to look in the spring.
@@gsp2west Hey Robert! Where in Wellington? It's a little bit North for me, but not too far. I'm in Loveland.

Open source ppg from what I heard will be soon selling a single electric motor unit soon. I will buy one and make a review. Stay tuned.

do they have the same pitch?

The two blade seems to put out less noise and runs a bit smoother.

Interesting! I agree that the three blade is brutal on the ground and even in the air. You have to really focus on your throttle movement.
Yes exactly!
Any one checked the thrust please? Or at least compare the thrust with moster185?
Bring it over and we can put it on the Thrust table
