i just love watching your always informative video clips mate.....and always done the fan man way......would for you to do a run up here to rocky/yeppoon and do a few tandems...scenery up here is wonderful.......stay safe mate
Hey Brett, Another great video. I haven’t worked it out yet, but the Nitro for the same pitched prop was producing 300 rpm more than the Tornado, yet climbed at a reduced rate. By rights it should be producing more thrust but there is more obviously going on, I just haven’t worked out what yet. 🤔
G’day Tony. So mate the problem with doing these types of tests is minimising the variables. It’s not easy. In this test there were a couple things I didn’t mention to camera. Re tuning : both engines are running fine but some fine tuning of the needles would certainly provide some increase in RPM on both. I like to have a little room built in so I’m happy if they are slightly off max RPM as long as they aren’t labouring. I don’t feel they are/were. The Tornado was running the XC head which does reduce the max RPM somewhat whilst giving an improvement in fuel efficiency ( manufacturer claim ) With the standard head it sits at about 7400-7500. So I guess the Tornado wasn’t at 100% but that’s what these test are about mate, out in the wild in the real world testing thrust/climb under flying load.
Good on you Josh. Yes I also am I fan I have had mine for a long time now and whilst there has been a few hiccups along the way it’s been a overall good experience also having a good dealer definitely has helped me but once you have flown a light weight paramotor it’s impossible to go back to anything with more weight
Hello Michel. yes I should do a video comparing the two for sure . at the moment the nitro burns anywhere from four to four and a half and the tornado is about four and three quarter to five and a quarter but I should do a proper test
To bad there known for alot of problems....customer service poor reputation..parts take months to get...l live in Canada lmagine the whole summer waiting for parts..
My Tornado 280 arrived this week, first flight yesterday
Very very happy
Good luck
Your right about light weight and electric start
Never go back

I think nitro and tornado use different pitch props. that's why less climb
I think the reduction ratio between the engine and the prop might not be the same on both motors ..?
Just going to mention that I love my Nitro 200.

Excellent video ! Thanks.
And what about fuel efficiency differences between these two engines ?

Unfortunately that’s what has started to hurt the brand I agree
