I've been curious how this one has held up. Thanks Tim for the update.

Thanks, Jeff! It’s basically bulletproof, other than one arc strike where I missed during a stick welding tutorial and a few very light scratches, it’s still good as new.

I keep thinking about getting this. They’ve had a deal in time for Fabtech previously. I’m not sure if the deal js on this year. I believe it was for the 3 x 4 table and the fixture kit for $3,000, which for most hobbyists is rather expensive, but is ideal for small pro shops, or those who don’t find that price off putting.
Some of the features is the weight, around 465 pounds which helps keep it steady. Cast tool steel, hardened to about RC 60 and nitrided, which helps prevent rust and helps keep weld from sticking.

These tables are worth the cost. It is a tool that will help you create better work and will last the rest of your life.

A good addition to the Siegmund imperial 16 Fixture Table is the Milwaukee M18 Fuel Magnetic Drill Kit (2787-22HD). The fixturing is cast iron and the Mag drill locks hard magnetically in virtually any position, much more flexible than a drill press. If you get this pair of System 16 brackets US160124.N and US160126.N, and system 16 square US160362.P you can use the drill on its side. The Milwaukee mag drill handle detaches and can be used on either side of the drill. The drill has to be upright in order to use the gravity feed cutting fluid feature.
What is really interesting is that you can drill at any position with high force that you can magnetically lock, even using the side of the siegmund table to hold a work piece or drill.
The only system 16 item that siegmund did not offer (that is available for the system 28) that I wanted for the mag drill was just a flat cast iron mounting plate (machinists plate). I purchased a BuildPro Plate, 20 x 6-1/4 x 5/8 inch, Nitrided, but the holes are too small for the siegmund ball locks, but I had some RhinoCart 5/8 inch hole ball locks which work with the siegmund table. Both the Buildpro and the siegmund imperial tables and accessories are on 2 inch hole centers and 5/8 inch or 16 mm holes as advertised, however siegmund holes are actually 16 mm in diameter and not 5/8 inch, which is 15.875 mm, so the siegmund holes are slightly larger than the Buildpro holes.

I’d love one of those tables but damn they’re so expensive.

They DO make very nice tables. Unfortunately, they are out of the budget for most fabricators who are not being provided their product in exchange for advertisement.

Not realistic for most , new car or welding table ?

I appreciate your comment. Fixture tables in general are expensive, as is most fabrication equipment. They are are also one of the best investments in a fabrication shop with instant returns of time and quality. The Siegmund tables are priced very competitively, considering their quality and capability. I’m not suggesting it’s necessary for everyone to have one, but I’m happy to represent great companies that have great products and I strive to do this in a transparent and honest way.

@TimWelds Don't mistake my comment to imply that your assessment is not genuine. As I said, they make very nice things.. just very pricey.
