Have you considered building into the window frames a channel in which you can drop a panel of 1/4" thick clear optical-grade polycarbonate? These panels will protect the very expensive windows from hard flying debris, and will be fairly inexpensive to replace as they become damaged. We love your channel!

That would be a good idea. . because one hit and 500€ down the drain.

      That's a great idea
      - despite the glass being bullet poof, it still only takes a small hit to crack the outer layer (which looks terrible and obstruct the view)
      - then he just have to pay another 500 euro for a new one, to get clear view again.

The year is 2050. The Hydraulic Press Channel now has 1 billion subscribers. Lauri just finished setting up the "Super-Duper Planet Crusher 5,000,000", a custom-made hydraulic press with 10,000 tonnes of maximum force. The bunker is now made of 30cm of AR500 steel, with a full 10 meters of reinforced concrete behind it. You watch as he prepares to crush an entire Russian BMP filled with nitroglycerine, while filming it at 10,000,000 frames per second at 16k resolution with a 360° high-speed camera. Life is good.

10,000 tonnes? USA has two presses one at 50,000 tonne, one at 60,000. Google search has one rated at 100,000 tonnes. If we're talking 2050 at HPC and their "Go Big or Crush It" motto - they would need a 1,000,000 tonne press. At those pressures just about any materials used under them would need to be treated as as a fluid in some manner.
      Love the new press!

I think this new press isn't just more powerful, it's smoother. I believe that the weaker old press would induce some struggle vibrations or stress fractures in some of the materials you were crushing with for. This new press seems more continuous in its delivery, and it will be interesting to see how that expresses itself.

    This is the greatest.
All of the practical reasons I need one of these big ass presses are of no consequence compared to my need to just smash stuff

Once the bunker is finished you should crush a piece of brass similar to the one that broke your window but make it a lot bigger for the new press

The modern art world needs more 300 ton presses. The way pipes crush is so beautiful. You can get great vases out of it.

10:05 That is an old UK copper penny, from pre-decimal times of £SD, back in the 1960s. The one head that was shown was George V, so it dates back to at least 1936. Small wonder it’s worn thin. The copper content of these is quite high, as is the silver content of any UK pre-1947 silver coins.

So I understand the machine is heavy and bolted down but I don’t understand the math of how it doesn’t just lift the machine or break a weld when 300 tons goes into some extremely hard. I assume it’s all connected in a “square shape” but those welds must be insane
