    I see others already beat me to the Dark Side of the Ring comments. Can't wait to see the Bedlam episode on the 3rd season.

    Wrestling needs more Bruiser Bedlams and fewer Marco Stunts.

    SMW was a 5 year deal who knows what these guys did the other 90% of their life. Quite a few you listed tho died in very odd and unforeseen ways.

    I live in Hamilton Ontario, which is Johnny K9 hometown. He was very well known here. In fact, the old Satan’s Choice Biker clubhouse which later became hells angels clubhouse, is just a few doors down from my house on my street…

    Bedlam/Johnny K-9 killed kayfabe for me. he was working memphis as Taurus Bulba, protege of Mongolian Stomper. One saturday morning, Bulba worked Mark Starr. Starr's main offensive move was the hiptoss. he used it 8 times, and Bulba jumped early each time. i was so mad i didn't watch for 2 weeks.

    I had the "pleasure" of knowing Ion when he was dating a friend of mine's mother in Hamilton, Ont....and the Bruiser you knew was FARRRRR different when he was at home. Us kids at the time knew, if "Johnny" was coming home, you'd better make yourself scarce in a hurry.

    I cant wait to see the dark side of the ring episode with bruiser bedlam. WWE should've signed him after his tryout match, esp with jim cornette as his manager, he wouldve been a nice fit I think, big strong bald guy who benched 600.

    • @citizenbeeswax7985

      @@ResistingDeath I saw it last night actually, thank you for asking. I must say I loved it, although i wish cornette had more comments in the episode. And i guess i was hoping to learn a bit more about bruiser as a person and the kind of upbringing he had etc. But it's only a 1 hour episode with commercials. The grisly smith episode might've been my favorite, along with the brian pillman. What about you?

    • @ResistingDeath
      @ResistingDeath 2 роки тому +2

      @@citizenbeeswax7985 I really enjoyed the episode too. I agree I would have liked to see more of Jim's commentary on him but to be fair, Jim didn't have much direct interaction with Bedlam. There is an old school OVW fan meet up video online where you can see Jim talking about the same stories with Bedlam sitting beside him. I had very limited knowledge of Bedlam prior to this episode so I was pretty intrigued by everything I saw. :)

    • @citizenbeeswax7985
      @citizenbeeswax7985 2 роки тому +1

      @@ResistingDeath what I love about bedlam is that there were no gimmicks with him. He was truly an eccentric unpredictable badass who didn't need to act much at all. Wrestling would be so much better now if there were more bruiser bedlams, regardless of how green he may have been. One of wrestling best kept secrets. After watching the episode, I sit here wanting a part 2 and 3 of the documentary! RIP -|-

      Guys always had the better interest of the business in mind back then. Jacques Rougeau was promoting a WWF event in his hometown, he booked himself in a match with Hogan. Hogan walks in to the locker room and says "Ok brother how we doing this? How are you beating me?" Rougeau was taken back and Hogan says "This is your deal you are paying for this whole event, you're beating me tonight.

    • @distantandvague
      @distantandvague 7 років тому +6

      Yeah, I remember when this occurred. But rarely do you hear people praise Hogan for having the best interest of professional wrestling in mind. But the Rougeau thing was a nice gesture. Still, Bruiser Bedlam was total trash and somehow the person behind the gimmick was substantially worse. But Savage was always the man.
