Everyone hates lesnar, he's credibly tough, nobody really messes with him, and there are a lot of accounts of him being a jerk in real life. Makes for a good heel. If he was in the business 300 shows a year, he'd be physically broken down by now and a little bit more boring.
Why they hang belts on him when he works that little, I don't know. I guess it helps him build heat, but it signifies that they don't have any workers worth putting the belt on if they'll hang it on a guy who doesn't do local shows.
It's not like the old days where people really value the title and a match that builds, though. If a guy wrestles the same match several times a week in the territory days, nobody knows it unless they go to several events. Now, three matches go on youtube and are the same and everyone knows what they'll see.
