@@jeremybrown9611to a point. I don't religiously watch the Cowboys like I used to anymore. I'm actually just waiting for Jerry Jones to kick the bucket. Once he's gone, then maybe maybe I'll have a good franchise again. The only reason I played Black ops 6, is because it's on game pass. And even then, I've only played a few hours. I don't log in and grind and spend my entire Saturday like it's 2010 again. CoD players stick with CoD because what else are you going to play? You going to go play apex? What about fortnite? Naw....
There's a lot of unhappy COD fans now too, and I suspect that is going to get considerably worse as they release more $100 AI slop skins. Timing is just an excuse, they half assed their release and didn't even let it cook.
😂😂There's a lot of unhappy CoD fans, doesn't means they're gonna leave CoD for it. Think bout it they'd rather pay $70 and/or $20-$30 Gamepass for CoD vs a Free 2 Play game. That's when you know you did something wrong
It's not that the game didn't make enough money, not because the player count, not because the devs were not doing their job. It was simply Ubisoft's inability to add their games to steam.
Yeah. It's like it is the sole reason why xdefiant was created and was popular at first to begin with. Because, let's be honest, the only fanbase they bring in with are sweaty cod players that want "No SBMM."
The fact that they blocked new players from coming in proves that they're aiming for a full acquisition. If XDefiant was successful, they wouldn't be able to reap the rewards in time, and also would mean that Ubisoft was more expensive to buy, thus, making it harder to sell, thus, making it harder for the CEO and top executives to get their golden check.
I'm gonna be honest I've heard of the game and was even interested in trying it out but I never even knew it was out already. Only found out after it was announced to close that it was exclusive to Ubisoft's store. If it was on Steam it would have had way more visibility.
The two main reasons in my opinion are 1) they missed their opportunity to release when cod fans hated the current game and released it when the current cod was actually good. And 2) the game was still incredibly unfinished despite all of the delays and didn’t feel like anything was changed between the release and betas
The players ruined it for me. People didn’t spread out across the map at all! Everybody grouped up like it was overwatch 1 and would be shoulder to shoulder watching each other all the time.
a few things, number one, the factions are very strange. like, out of the available factions, two are from the division, and they are specifically agents and cleaners, which means any characters will HAVE to be agents or cleaners. like i feel it would be more inclusive to have factions be representing a franchise rather than one part of one game, which makes it so far cry is literally only represented by one group from fc6. also, instead of recognizable characters, you get mooks. number two, many maps had parts where nothing happens and nobody goes to, except to allow someone to spawnkill your team. number three, gadget balancing is out the door. some factions get stuff that are push-button-to-kill, some get incredibly versatile support tools. then you have things like the division agent's ballistic shield which relies on your foes being confused by it more than you being able to block bullets, or the watchdogs hacking tool which can only hack a select amount of gadgets, and most of those have a window of time to disrupt in the milliseconds
Hey man! Great video! Theres a bunch of us in this community that still do play the game and "grind it", everything is unlocked. But yes, i brought this up in a stream with JakOfAllTradz and NyteFall that Ubisoft is preparing to be bought out. Were hoping that maybe the game can just be transferred to a different form of IP but we are hoping in some way that it comes back. They added somethings like Bomb (search and destroy) and private matches ehich ive tested out and definitely had some potential. However, i stated before even in 2022 with an alpha version that Ubisoft has a chance but its Ubisoft 🤷🏽♂️
I am frankly baffled how many people thought that… something can come out of this, like… literally every single person who is not on a cod hate train have seen it coming since day 1, this game was very unimpressive, it looked and felt outdated, it’s technical state was really bad, it was full of bugs and there was almost no content to top it all of.
It's a shame, I got absolutely fed up with the new COD after 2 weeks since the map design is beyond atrocious. Another arena shooter would be fun, especially one that actually has coherent map design.
Not releasing on Steam was not beneficial, not releasing on last generation of consoles (tens of millions of active ps4/xbox one users who would probably appreciate a FTP shooter) didn't help, releasing after seemingly many delays to release incomplete missing vital modes like SnD (SnD no joke is a top 3 mode in most CODs, eventually its equiv Bomb launched) and plethora of other issues to line up against a fairly solid COD in Black Ops 6 also didn't help. XD maybe should have been a paid game, $30-$40 tops (and of course launch more complete) would have been a better move as the monetization was pretty terrible, the skins looked rather mediocre. But overall super sad as it's the best shooter I've played since Black Ops 4 in 2018, and was hoping it would stay around for years.
The community was also very toxic for literally no reason whatsoever, like as soon as you say anything bad about it 1000000 galzers would come in and be like “so I see your a bad cod fanboy lmfao you bad” and just wouldn’t let people have fun. Also SBMM is definitely needed for this (no eomm) because a new player could just join for the first time, get stomped, and then possibly quit forever.
I think the sole marketing scheme of “absolutely no sbmm at all” and “this is for angry cod fans” was its ultimate downfall. Absolutely no sbmm wasn’t a good call. I called it right from the beginning that no sbmm Atleast protecting the very bottom bracket (not eomm) that the average to higher skilled players would drive away lower skilled and casual players. Leaving only higher skilled and slightly above average players left. Games like cod thrive off of keeping a casual fan base. I’m not saying they needed the same level of skill matching like cod (screw that) but some level of skill matching was present in OG to make sure that absolute bottom of barrel skilled players weren’t smashed into oblivion to the point where the game was no fun. This can be proven, by the 100s of “how to get easier lobbies” back in even the bo2 days. Reverse boosting did work but didn’t work nearly as good as it does today. This indicates that skill matching was present but not nearly as strong as it is today. SOME level of skill matching was needed for Xdefiant in my opinion and they wouldn’t have bleed their player base, thus there would have been more spending. That’s the real answer.
"patience to see it through' and that defense is the problem, waiting for a game to get good isn't a good thing it was mid at best and doing the bare minimum isn't the praise people make it to be, and it didn't have heart, it was the most safe bet game Ubi to make - another live service cashing in on a market that's already dry
This video, and particularly, the description, is an insult to XDefiant. It's true that the game was ostracized by gamers and crippled by Ubilost, just steps away before it could get to its peak. Ubilost needs money, Ubilost wants to save money, Ubilost liquidates their assets, Ubilost dropped their last ball. But saying that XDefiant is bland, generic, didnt appeal to players is far from the truth; it was something unique among all the modern Ubi garbage Something reminiscent of old times, where innocent fun and no game-rigging manipulation was to be expected. For the hundreds and hundreds of hours that i played, i thought of XDefiant, as my own, precious, "Black Ops 4, but better" I'd like not to write an entire essay, so i'm gonna stop there. XDefiant has soul. Don't listen to them.
xdefiant let it die, instead of taking it headon and letting the bo6 phase go through while they really cooked up something for XD , truely fucked up , i wouldnt be surprised if another company buys out xdefiant and releases it again, biggest problem is the company is so deep in debt and other project they cant risk taking a loose anymore
It was about to get Prestige, it was going to be added to Steam. Assassin’s Creed faction was coming. Loser Ubisoft execs. The COD has as many or more problems.
Very well done. As an Xdefiant addict who's crushed by losing this game, playing since day 1 and will continue to play, and they turn off the lights... this was the best take on this I've seen yet. Thank you. #savexdefiant
bad choice at the start using anything from JBOWEN cause what he's saying there is not what he was saying at all about xdefiant before it got shut down. he was going on about the smallest thing acting like it was the second coming of Christ and would repeatedly trash cod but as soon as this died he was like oh theres was nothing to do... but what about all that gaslighting you were saying....oh i get it you look stupid now and everything everybody was trying to say you just trash them with your community but now your backtracking on everything lol i love how these content creators always flip and never keep that same energy they had when it was still alive just hoping for a creator code but now its dead start talking trash lol dont flip now after cussing all of us out over this dead game and it never had a chance ever
He was a dickrider and an opportunist. xDefiant was shit from day 1. It was a fucking arcade hero shooter-HERO SHOOTER being the thing that ruined the game
JB even said he liked mw3 DURING xdefiant release. He said that he preferred XDefiant because it was refreshing and didnt get him angry due to the egregious matchmaking algorithm that pretty much forced him to play 10v10 with a group or it wasnt fun at all and even still he holds MW3 to high regard when it came to community feedback. Each and every little thing that came to xdefiant he liked because it was brand new and it was introduced with passion before profit. what youre saying is he was shilling for a creator tag when he didnt care about that at ALL, he even still enjoys xdefiant and choses it more over than current cod today. idk where people get at painting a bad picture on creators enjoying experiences and when they talk down on other things all of the sudden theyre shilling. He even stated that xdefiant had bad updates and didnt know what they were doing, but creators stick it out for the future and it paid off but sadly the competition is ending and we are back to square one.
It was about to get Prestige, it was going to be added to Steam. Assassin’s Creed faction was coming. Loser Ubisoft execs. The COD has as many or more problems.
CoD players no matter how hard they complain, will only stick to CoD
Facts they will never admit it
THANK YOU! I have been saying this! They’ve been screaming COD is dead since 2013 yet have kept buying the annual releases.
Yup CoD fans are like Cowboys, Eagles and Brown's fans. They ain't going nowhere

brand addiction, FOMO, only play one game
echo chamber and emotionally tied to it so they refuse to change
The game was just too late. They had an opportunity to capitalise on unhappy cod fans in 2022. By the time is was released they missed their window.
There's a lot of unhappy COD fans now too, and I suspect that is going to get considerably worse as they release more $100 AI slop skins. Timing is just an excuse, they half assed their release and didn't even let it cook.

True

No, they released a game that wasn't even close to finished. You couldn't even do certain modes on the very few maps they had
It's not that the game didn't make enough money, not because the player count, not because the devs were not doing their job. It was simply Ubisoft's inability to add their games to steam.
Ubisoft Inkompetence basically and the lack of Steam Release.
100%!
Lack of steam release really was what killed the game
#1: rushed to release before it was ready
#2: Ubisoft game
They fact it’s whole marketing was “no skill based matchmaking “ is the dumbest thing ever
Yeah. It's like it is the sole reason why xdefiant was created and was popular at first to begin with. Because, let's be honest, the only fanbase they bring in with are sweaty cod players that want "No SBMM."

Honestly if they had a PVE mode or VS bots, it would be much more casual friendly and fun
Very good video bruh, you deserve more recognition!!
Appreciate that!

all the potential died when it didnt drop on steam, thats like trying to insinuate a car can go 100 with no gas in it
As long as there are people with negative iq's, cod will never die
Do these people know you can just… play for fun?
I enjoy it myself it was fun but man oh man.. the grinding for weapons and everything takes forever… I mean forever to unlock

I think the term you mean is arena shooter but yeah bo6 map design is probably the worst we’ve had in a while
people too kind to this game, toxic positivity
There's a multitide of reasons, some very unpopular, some obvious like xp gains

Agreed they definitely dropped the ball with no last Gen and no steam + 0 ads for the game.
I dont understand how Ubisoft used to actually develop new engines for their IPs. Nowadays they're just re-using over and over
Another reason why the game failed is because it had terrible servers at launch.
Just like BO6 have now🤣
