      Grease or oil the seals prior to inserting crank. The crank will feel resistance at first, over time it will settle. Ensure correct seal kit for the crank, use a good brand of seal.

    Question: I noticed a grinding sound and feeling coming from my transmission box, where the variator and clutch/belt are. I opened it up and there was excessive black dust everywhere. Obviously the belt is getting grinded down. I have a 2008 kymco vitality 50 2T.
    This is what I have upgraded so far:
    1: Malossi Flip exhaust added
    2: malossi Kevlar belt
    3: upjetted carb
    The scooter is running great, the stock roller weight was 9gr so I tried a mix of 9gr with 5.gr but it seemed too weak at the start off so i traded for all 6.5 gram rollers, the take off and top speed is really good now.
    Just the belt grinding. I ordered a malossi performance clutch and a polini high speed variator. I’m hoping that will fix the belt grinding issue. Have you ever seen this excessive belt wear before? And if so how did you remedy it.
    Thank you for posting your videos it really helps, Happy subscriber.

      Watch our earlier videos on how to change the carby jets, you will be able to do it, just go slowly and be gentle with the parts. No you do not need a new crank BUT it should be changed/upgraded if it is worn and the bearings are worn.

    What does a stiffer clutch spring actualky help with?

    • @scooterstreetau
      @scooterstreetau  2 роки тому +3

      The higher tension spring require higher RPM (rotational force) to release and allow the clutch shoe to engage with the bell housing, this unloads the crankshaft and give an opportunity to allow rev increase without the early load from the clutch and rear wheel.

    @i_luv_snickasmohn5668 2 роки тому

    Gilera runner sp 50, whats the downsides of getting heavier weights, because around 80kmh it starts giving me signs that it doesnt want to go faster and the belt gets too far up the variator.
    Do i lose any acceliration by adding heavier weights?

    • @scooterstreetau
      @scooterstreetau  2 роки тому +1

      When we discuss heavy rollers it usually refers to the rollers losing gear optimization due to excess weight. The heavier rollers can slow down acceleration and it is at this point where the rollers must be lightened to allow a fair opportunity for engine to rev without going through the gearing earlier than optimal..

      @scooterstreetau  2 роки тому

      The speedo on most scooters is optimistic, meaning true speed is 60 and speedo reading is 66. there is approx. 10% acceptable variance. It is very difficult for manufacturers to calibrate the speedo as they run from the drive gear on the front wheel. (different tyre pressure will give a different reading)
