Yes that is an amazing cover I remember when it came out. Now how about a three kid band that will also blow your mind they call themselves Hammerhedd and when your done hecking that out go see Owen Davey that kid has it all .
Anyone else noticed just before the drum solo Curtis Moss was bouncing in his thinking "turn me loose turn me loose I'm ready😂"and then explodes in that drum solo.... He has his own UA-cam channel he is in his twenties now.... Also mentioning about Danny.... I'm sure he's seen it because I think he's from that academy as well
Curtis Moss graduated from college last Spring is now in Nashville with a new band called Backhand Blue. You can find them on UA-cam . Backhand Blue is on their way up.
The drummer (Curtis Moss) is a huge TOOL fan and was actually the one that suggested they cover this song. And he f'ing killed it. He is a BEAST on that drum kit. I don't know if Danny Carey could have played it better himself. He also has a UA-cam channel and has posted as recently as 2 weeks ago. Just search Curtis Moss
Everything in this is perfect. I love Tool and think these kids actually played it better. Love the drums, percussion section, mix of piano with the guitars, and having a female voice just adds to the meaning of the song. And the bassist is the real rock star. Watch him use his hand on the opposite fret at 6:20. Badass move
Of all their vids I've watched only ever seen that drummer one other time...and he was playing guitar. Kid rocked that kit would love to have seen him in more of their vids.
As a musician of 45 yrs I have to say TOP SHELF, OUTSTANDING musicianship from all of these kids I have said this in all the videos of this cover just AMAZING!!!!!!
Loved this. !!! Ty for watching it! Kids are our future and. We need to support more. Foundations like this. This was simply amazing! Glad you liked it . I try to support okmf. Any way possible. Truly great work. You should see more of their covers! ❤️
OMG I'm so glad you finally reacted to this cover. This Foundation is amazing, the fact that the kids cover a wide variety of music genres, just makes it that much more awesome. Definitely need to check out the O'Keefe Foundation cover of Sober.
As an 80’s kid and seeing music essentially die after the late 90’s to a point where all that left now is embarrassing rap, this honestly brought tears to my eyes. Beautiful
A platform to prosper OMF is a top notch environment for young musicians to play/perform and meet other like minded kids. I see my son is making friends instantaneously and bonding over playing/ music/gear. The staff’s dedication to having a platform for these kids to prosper is awesome and we look forward to every session with OMF. Noel-Dannemiller-OMF-Testimonial
to watch kala rose progress thru omf was amazing her last song was crazy horse for omf i always enjoyed the vids omf does. her band now she granduated/ out grew omf is named saving escape you can find em here on youtube!!!
You are not annoying when you're ranting about how great the drummer is. He IS incredible, just so powerful and solid and tight, a great performance for any drummer to pull off much less a young'n. Great reaction to a phenomenal performance!
The Singer Kala Rose now sings for a band with I believe more kids from OMF. The band is Saving Escape. They have a few videos on UA-cam it is a garage rock/blues rock style.
The lead singer Kayla has had quite a storied career thus far. Please react to the 'Sober' Tool cover, where she returns to perform lead vocals once again, as a young lady quite a bit older than she was in this particular video. Simply astonishing, in my opinion!
She also sings a cover for Pull Me Under from Dream Theater and a few others for OKeefe, they’re all so telented. This is my far my all time favorite UA-cam cover, I lost track of how many times I watched it
When I saw it when it came out it was incredible 🤯🎶😉kids are amazing i always bought my boys every & any instrument they wanted … I love it so much 💜🎶I still have the videos of my sons playing me clean from incubus on the djembe and so many more they had every instrument guitar, bass, & 7 string & pedals /Amps every percussion, drums keyboards ,horns, even a bagpipe it’s good for the soul start them young 😉all genres 🎶music is life 🎶💙💙there all grown up now and still play the music 🎶 I love it 🥰

I just saw believe it or not kids do a cover of Lateralus by Tool, if you want to check it out, its The School of Rock. They also did Schism. Fantastic.
This was incredible. God's honest truth it brought me to tears how good this was. That drummer just had me standing there saying "Holey S#^t look.at this guy" over and over. Just so.much talent.from.each and every one of them.
Kayla was such an awesome member of O'Keefes during her time with them. I've watched all of her stuff. Her voice is incredible from the early stuff with her on into today where she has her own band.
God Bless the O'keef Music Foundation. You were truly amazed, you must look into this wonderful organization in Ohio. These young people want to be doing this and you can tell by the amazing passion they perform with. I doubt any of their parents have to drag them to the studio to practice. There is so much more for you to watch. Kala is in an amazing band with other OMF musicians called Saving Escape. More please, do more of the kids from O'keef Music Foundation. Your reaction was awesome.
You're not annoying, Sebs. I had the same WTF reaction as you. The drummer was the star for me. Everyone was great and amazing and wonderful, but that drummer was the business.
There is a version of this where they show the age in subtitles. The girl that sings also sings on a cover of PULL ME UNDER by dream theater.... I support the foundation annually so thank you and keep spreading the word
It’s hilarious, I watch your Tool reactions all the time, and just by chance today I wanted to watch reactions to the O’Keefe thing, and watched like 3 of them today that were a year old, and then I get a notification my 2nd favorite Tool reactor is watching it! Lol. I’m sure no one cares (like hearing another persons dream they had last night or something. Not interested) but hey, I’m feeling chatty so fuck it.
You get a sub just for this reaction. I went through the same stages of denial at first watching this way back when. Im a drummer myself and in high school, Danny Carey's stick work and groove was just a bit beyond my reach. I started with Metallica, Pantera, moved on to Slipknot and before my senior year ended I played this song. With blisters on my hands, blood on the snare and tears running down my face as I screamed triumphantly. They pulled it off flawlessly. I had a huge grind on my face watching this the first time, and I had a huge grin on my face watching your reaction. +1 sub.
Gained another one here also..it's wild the age difference between us..I'm 65 and loving that you young folks are so talented and really into good music..hope you all go as far as you wanna go .. I'll smoke a bowl for ya..
All the kid's rocked! But Kala on vocals, Aj on the bass & Curtis on the 🥁's was mind blowing. A job very well done. I listen to this once a week just to close my eyes and relax to it!
You should check the singer, Kala Scarpinski, she did many great covers through O'Keefe Foundation. She did Sober and The Pot cover also in her late teens. She is currently in the rock band Saving Escape. Her artistic name is now Kala Rose. I think she is amazing talent, hope she will make it big!
nobody mentioning the bassist?!? that dude killed it, mad respect to the bassist for hitting those lines with perfection! 🤘
Not to mention he pulls a sneaky over the top of the fret board move that hardly anybody mentions or notices . The lad is on point
Saw that, so cool@@CAGE497
Yes that is an amazing cover I remember when it came out. Now how about a three kid band that will also blow your mind they call themselves Hammerhedd and when your done hecking that out go see Owen Davey that kid has it all .

Kala Rose is currently singing for her band Saving Escape with a few other O'Keefe Music Foundation alum
He needs to check out the Dream Theater - Pull Me Under cover, she killed that one too. Well they all did.

They are so good right. Watched this years ago and was just beside myself with pride for the peice.

I always loved the quote on the original that “Curtis beat the drums like they owed him money!”
He’s mastering the polyrhythms for sure!!👍
His drumming on the Raining Blood cover is outstanding, the smile on his face is so huge I'm guessing it was his choice
This young girl is sanging 🍃💚🍃💚🍃💚🍃
She Also Does a cover of Sober. She rips on the guitar too. The O'Keefe music Foundation. keeping Rock alive !

Thanks for also recognizing how great these kids were and asking where the heck are they now.
This remains of the best things on the web. #WholesomeAF seeing kids choosing great music to cover, & *absolutely* doing it justice. :)
The drummer for this cover is the most amazing part. Talented kid… I hope he gets his come-up-ins… dude is good.
I am amazed every time I listen to these young people. TRUE Rock n Roll
Sebs Duran I don't usually say this but bro, you just come across as a genuinely likeable and happy person.
This school also has the kids doing some Dream Theater, Pantera and Maiden too.. they're incredible.
Absolute best covers of TOOL. They do other bands too but no one comes close to the O’Keefe kids hands down

Very similar reaction as I had when I first heard this 😅
If you liked this, you have to check out the same kids covering Sober!. Few years older. With there own flare at the end. Just amazing.
