- In our latest WTF series, we take a look at some of our favorite stars and filmmakers who have seemingly disappeared or altered their careers over the years to the point that begs the question; WTF happened? Now, before you think we're just picking on celebrities or running some gossip rag stuff, think again! We take a fun (and sometimes funny), researched and fair approach, looking at all angles that led our subject to wherever they are now (which isn't necessarily a bad place at all). If anything, it answers the question on where these fine folks went, how they got there and where you can find 'em now.
It was inevitable that we'd find our way to Charlie Sheen, son of Martin, brother to Emilio and all around wild and crazy, Tiger-Blood drinkin' actor that's as much a cultural icon as he is a Hollywood celebrity. Sheen began his early work in 80's flicks like Lucas and Red Dawn, before making a splash in Oliver Stone's Platoon (and again in Wall Street). Sheen would then continue his hot streak with Major League (as Rick 'Wild Thing' Vaughn), Navy Seals and Hot Shots! and then dovetailing into a stream of obscure films that never matched his early popularity. However, Sheen found massive success in the long-running sitcom Two and a half Men, which catapulted him not only in the TV world, but in the press as well, where he seemed to make just as much noise in his personal life as he did onscreen. With his well-documented wild lifestyle, Sheen became both a cautionary tale and a hero to many, all the while remaining the bad boy. Any way you cut it, Sheen has made a name for himself and forever cemented his legacy in the world of film and TV.

He didn't make the show, he was the show. Even after they killed the him off, Walden was ok-ish by s10, but it just wasn't the same & not worth it.
That scene with his dad in Wall Street is phenomenal, imagine doing a scene like that with your own dad. That'll must be difficult to shot. The emotions felt very real.

That was just so sad, it was like watching a rich talented friend get into a car drunk, give you a cool salute & drive off into the night but there was nothing you could do about it. Tbh I've been. If it was alcohol and other drugs along, without cocaine he wouldn't have woken up from his overdoses. It worked for me and it does just take your own mind. Hopefully with his new shoes he sees them as ann investments for his future to come. I'd trust him, apart from anger I'm guessing he's got into risk management as well

The Chase is an underrated flick. It's a fun nostalgic Sunday afternoon movie. Represents the 90s perfectly between Charlie, Butterfinger, Rancid, Henry Rollins and extreme 90s dialogue.
Being a Drug, Alcohol, and Gambling COunselor for the past 13 years I found Charlie's life to be a counselors nightmare. I truly hope that he finds recovery and happy rest of his life.
He seems pretty damn happy just the way he is.

Money!...he lost multiple relationships, his children, caught AIDS, violence, arrests, delusions, depression, anger....Addiction isn't quite as amusing when you live it. Fun to watch sometimes, I guess, but pretty shitty in reality. Trust me.

2 and a half men with Charlie was a great show, I can rewatch episodes I’ve seen already and still throughly enjoy it.
Seems like he has always lived his life on the edge no matter what the circumstances, however, he is very talented and very entertaining and I will always admire him for that. CS is a great womanizer indeed.

I remember Charlie the most from "Hot Shots: Part Deux". I loved that movie and it makes me laugh to this day. The guy was a legend and it sucks to hear about his drug addiction and all these allegations, etc....I wish the best of luck to him.
He is a great actor that had problems many people have. He just didn't care what was going on when he was doing drugs, drinking, and losing his temper. He is one of the greatest actor in my life time. Thank you for sharing your personal life experiences that you could have hid. 2 and a half men will be my favorite because he reminds of my uncle. My uncle was one of my favorite friends and was always there. He was an alcoholic and some of jokes and stories would make me laugh. I would stay with him on the weekends because he didn't have kids. He had many stepchildren who were a part of his life. He was the black sheep as I was also. I miss so very much and I am blessed to have an uncle like him.

Finally some appreciation for The Three Musketeers... which is very underrated - or maybe just forgotten. Comparing it to the first Pirates.. is very fitting. Same style of action, nice balance between comedy and the serious stuff... and the best villain-actor of the 90s. Michael Wincott :-)

I love this guy's honesty. People were enthralled because he didn't ask permission, needed no affirmation of others, and truly was himself! I liken it to the line in "My Way° as he "said the things he truly feels, not the words of one who kneels"
No Man's Land is a classic. I watched it during lockdown after watching Wall Street as I hadn't seen either film in years and yeah, I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Doesn't get the recognition it deserves I think. His costar D.B Sweeny is also excellent in it!

Honestly, some of his statements from this era make me think of when Krusty the Clown became an edgy comedian for one episode on "The Simpsons", as I don't think he was trying to be funny, but he was telling what he believed was the truth, and some of these things were funny.
When he felt like it, I thought Sheen could really act (he has a certain screen presence, I think), and play characters who weren't based on his image very well.
As "Anger Management" goes, I thought it was okay I guess.

I completely forgot about the Hot Shots films, don't think I've seen them since they were released. Seeing Wall Street on Blu-ray is on my to-do list.
I, like everyone else, was caught in the entire "duh winning" thing, and I have never watched an episode of 2 1/2 Men, but I saw every episode of Anger Management and I loved it.
Really cool story about Sheen from Henry Rollins,
Rollins was working on a little independent movie called The Chase alongside Sheen (who was the star). They were both staying at the same hotel while shooting. At 6AM lobby call, Rollins asked the doorman if he'd seen Sheen, and was told that yes he'd seen Sheen... being helped by two of his friends into the hotel at 3AM completely drunk out of his mind. As the doorman told Rollins this, there came Charlie down the elevator, looking a bit shaky and pale, but otherwise sober and ready to start the day's shooting. 3 hours sleep!
Not only was Sheen ready to shoot, but Rollins said Sheen barely would even miss a line. And not only that, but Sheen was working on another movie at the same time. So, he was working sixteen hour days, partying, hardly any sleep and being a total professional! Holy shit!
C'mon bro he had TIGER BLOOD!
And top quality drugs.
Yet there are literally millions of people having benders and massive parties, living life on the edge and then at 8.30 they shower and go to work.

I saw him in a San Antonio tiddy bar in the early 90s while I was attending a friend's bachelor party. Charlie was hanging out with some of the Spurs players. Our group waved at theirs but we didn't bother them. They waved back. #BrushWithGreatness.

I saw Charlie Sheen on that Tiger Blood tour he went on. He was really nice to fans but when he got on stage the crowd mostly hated him. During his set people started walking out. Almost every minute more people would get up and leave. I didn't because I felt bad.
Unpopular Opinion: I think the Tiger Blood thing was brought on by the HIV diagnosis, he knew then.

He came out as HIV positive and openly announced it in a TV interview. This was before even admitting it or notifying his multiple "partners" and "party goers". Career over.
It's one thing to come out if that person has reached a pinnacle in his/her life and finally wants to be free. It's something entirely different when you "come out" because you're tired of being blackmailed. I would have a little more compassion for Mr. Sheen had he learned ANYTHING for the debacle known as his life.

I got into Charlie from Ferris..then I enjoyed the hell out of the Wraith but then him in Cadence he was soo good. I loved it. SO every since then I seen a good amount of his movies. Hot Shots was too funny and I went nuts for him in Major League...But Men At Work is a classic for me lol truly love that movie. Three Musketeers was another loved movie...
