Great comment, most excavations require proper shoring of the excavation. At A.M. Shield we achieve this by using a timber frame and tieback system. The egress installation in this video could not be shored because of a gas line very close to the excavation. The gas line is visible in some of the footage. This excavation was assessed by a competent person to be safe however, because of your post and the safety of all employees, I will put together a video with proper shoring . Thank you.
make sure it had a still or wood lentil above the window for support, make sure it had a drain system as well, stones leading into the ground is not a drain system, but more water accumlation for a foundation which is not yet water proofed.
Is there a drain pipe at the base of well connected to weeping tile? If not, aren't you afraid of water collecting in well and flooding the basement through the window?
Where is your drainage? irc code 2009 and later calls for sump to daylight, tie into existing drainage tile or pipe into basement S&D sump system. Just 2b stone fails here in eastern PA just had it happen
An improperly installed egress system, can cause basement water problems. My suggestion is, contact a B.H.A. certified egress or waterproofing specialist. You can find a specialist in your area through the Basement Health Association website or contact me at hugo@amshieldcorp.com and I will help you find a professional to determine why your basement flooded.
I love the Extra large Egress installed at my home 2 years ago. AM Shield Corp did a great job! Quick & Clean!!!
the window type is called "single hung in-swing" windows
One of the best videos I have seen yet. What do they call that type of window and who made it?
Professional at work. Thanks for sharing!

The home probably does not have drain tile system or sump pump. You can always dig down further and make it compacted Rock for drainage.
What is the name of the manufacturer for that windo? I've never seen a single hung window that also functions as a casement.
+Russ Carrick I want to know the same thing!
Please contact AM Shield at 516 294-8400
Impressive work!
Thank You!
no drain system , no steel or wood lentil? to support load from above??

Drainage is critical for expansive soils. In most cases sump basins with pumps are added. Good call fuzzy.
probably the easiest way to comply to code for a basement bedroom
Great video. Anyone knows where I can buy such fancy window?
awesome job :)
How much does it cost to enlarge the tiny basement window to install an egress size window?
I am worried the basement got flooded with all that water when the guy was cutting the cinder blocks.

Well done
shovel..what a concept.
Very good
Where did you find the window?
What is the price for this installation?
Wow... how much would it cost?
I was thinking about doing that.
Why did they skip the flashing tape?
Didn't see any type of drainage, what if your window well fills up?
Drains are critical in soil with poor drainage. In most cases a footing drain or pump system would be included to reduce overflow.
No mess a all. No kidding.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
No drain?
