Thousands of dollars to resod? I use an excavator to dig and my saws run off my excavator. Just lay plywood down to drive on, when I leave you never know I was there except for the window I put in. Beats hand digging.
South Ontario Egress window dose this work out, let me know how to it feel finishing 3\4 on an 8 hour day, ultralight ex, and ring saw/ loader / trailer…… with my bros
Yeah SCREW doing that by hand lol dude just doesn't want to buy an excavator which would probably end up saving money in the long run. That's just ridiculous haha
So is this some local pbs show? I don’t like those fiberglass window well liners.. with steps?? It lets the burglar just walk up the stairs easily with your 65” tv, and gives him time and convenience to return for your laptop and if he has a buddy they can two man carry your smaller gun safe out haha 😂.. why not just do a normal window well with an escape ladder? That’s a ton of work adding the drain and sump in there.. so glad I don’t have to worry about ground water issues.. flooding via poor draining window well is my only concern.. doubt the standard water company would travel from MN to UT to install a french drain in all my wells..
Depends. I just received quotes between $2,850-3,500 for a basic egress window in MN on 10/4/24. A slider that is 60Wx42H is $4,500 plus permit (galvanized well on all of these). I just ordered the window (Marvin Elevate) for $805 after tax. A galvanized well is ~$500, but a plastic one is more like $1,000-$1,500. We're doing it ourselves and hoping to be under $2,500 for everything. The quotes received helped with what is needed to finish the job for header info etc.
Yeah, my first thought when I saw that was I wonder if the next time the gas company sends someone to read the meter if they call it in and the homeowner gets a big bill for a meter relocation order. No gas utility I know of is going to sign off on a that.
Man, they really hammer home that you need to pay someone to do this but do an amazing job showing me how i will do it myself. 😂

Why only a five-year warranty on the window well if you say it will last forever?
I would like to see someone open that window during the winter when you have 2 feet of snow on the ground. Use a slider type window.
Agreed that was a bad move! Plus casement windows are notorious for that crank going bad or gears stripping.
All egress windows are required to have covers over them that hinge upwards. No rain or snow will get in there.
If there is a fire i don't think anyone is going to care about just shattering that window if they cant open it.
These commercials are the best. XD

this is a great system. great use of basement space. nicely done.
How did you prepare the exterior concrete surface to receive an adhesive tape water sealant?
Mr.Willerup - Did you ever find a good answer to your question. I'm currently looking for the same and would love your insight. Cheers!
Andy H Not yet.

Can you turn an egress window into a walk out door?
yes
How much would this cost?
More than the value of the house gonna cost u an arm and leg lol
Anywhere between 500 to 5000
Looks higher than 47" from the floor? CODE
44" from finished floor to the bottom of the opening to get out is code. Looks like it might be right around there.
And no consideration for side load on foundation opening now that structual integrity is compromised. Fail.
Wow. So few comments on this. I'm surprise

Somebody forget fan in attic connect to basement slab name is Radon gas removal system not humidity in basement booooo
Potbellied dudes stand on top and jabber out nothing while the real men do the work.
Good video, however it was a 26 minute commercial , a bit too much pushing their company business
And it only cost me the rest of my life to pay off yay
Why do companies leave the cutout concrete in bottom of holes before backfilling?
Less to backfill
Multiple reasons.
Helps with drainage to an extent. Less to haul away, less material to fill.
They suck to lift out!

over $3500 for each window

I was told an egress window couldn't be within 10 feet from a gas meter.

enough of these stupid commercials
How much does this cost...
4500 give or take from a company. But thats for the window install
The drain system. Not so sure. My guess another 4500
