- Today we take a close look at the Azure Sea Optimus Prime statue based on the designs from the IDW Transformers comic books. This is a very impressive statue but not without its flaws (mainly 2 missing magnets). I also do a side by side comparison with the XM Studios Optimus Prime to see which one will reign as king of my Transformers statue collection! What do you think?

No idea their Optimus was that large. I agree with your review, I think Azure Sea got the pose better. Both versions look great. I like how the colors pop, switch-outs, pose, and overall intensity for Azure. I"m going to give the XM the awards for more details, likeness, and I prefer the metallic colors a bit more. I say they're both worthy in staying in your collection. I"d be really happy with both.
Glad you reviewed one of their pieces. I was thinking of pulling the trigger on their Sixshot and after seeing this, I"m probably going for it. I only held back because I have too much on order (I may cancel something to justify Sixshot) and I was this close to getting Windblade but glad I waited. For some odd reason, the direction she's facing in looks far different than the prototype (The prototype's was far better). I also think their Starscream looks col.
I would be very interested in this line if I wasn't already vested in the XM line. Starscream looks great. I may have to consider Shockwave if XM doesn't make him.
I love G1, but man, this is incredible. The colours, the design. It's absolutely stunning.
Even though I like the paint job on the blues and reds more on this one, I still like the XM one better. The head seems a bit tiny for the body on this one also. But overall it is a great piece. It’s just kind of weird though that they shipped it with super glue. 😆 Maybe you can use it to glue some small magnets on those loose fitting pieces?..🤷🏽♂️
I hear you. They are both great pieces. Just depends on what style you are going for. I like that having both gives me a good diversity in my Optimus statues. If they were too similar, I’d have to let one go. The two lines don’t mix very well. So I think most collectors are going have to decide to go with one over the other. Unless they’re the type to get everything…like me. 😁

Both are cool in their own way but i like the Gundam look more on Azure Sea. What was the price on both?
Yeah, it's all about style preference and what type of connection you have with Transformers. Azure Sea makes some really nice dynamic pieces. Price was similar for both, just shy of $2k

In my opinion XM Studios wins this head to head contest hands down.
Really nice piece. I'm glad I don't have enough space to even consider it. As it is, I can't divert from my XM Transformers collection. XM just showed Galvatron, so that's my next one.
Xm all the way for me, having the Alt modes is what distinguishes xm’s line from the rest.

I prefer XMs Optimus but excited for some of Azuresea other pieces, pretty sure I will get there Sixshot, Tarn and Shockwave
Agreed. XM has the first shot at getting my money. But if they don't hurry up, it's good to know I have some options to keep my TF display going.
@@DTsGEEKSHOW I am a big fan on what XM has done with these G1s I have all them other than Grimlock which I hope to track down at a reasonable price (also want to track down the IA Devaastator!) Not sure if its true but I heard XM may do one more G1 but will start doing beast wars instead which I have no interest in.... Glad Azuresea is filling in the gap!

Optimus Prime vs himself
The pose is better on this however the design on the Optimus chest cab looks weird. Almost looks like it’s squinting. For that alone, XM wins hands down.

Azure Sea, more buffed, more heroic, better feet, better pose.
I like them both but I would lean a bit more towards the XM. I can't deny the beautiful vivarant colors on the huge Optimus and I can easily change my mind and go for that. Either way it was an enjoyable video and thanks for comparing the two. Well done!
I’m an xm fanboy so I’ll try to be non biased. I don’t really care for the azure one. I do like the vibrant colors it has but the proportions are just off to me. I like the xm one waaaay more.
XM is tops for me too. The Azure Sea is a cool interpretation of IDW comic art, which I am also a fan of. XM teased some new pieces, so let’s hope they continue the line. It is the BEST.
