Tom had an evening variety / talk show called "Night Time" for a week in 1988 on Chicago TV. His skills as a nimble comedian, always quick with a quip, were really put to the test in the segment you're watching. Check out this moment in the clip: 1:43 Could there be a more DEADPAN expression ANYWHERE in the animal kingdom?!!! Apparently the "original PARTY ANIMAL" was nursing a hangover.
The Spuds MacKenzie ad campaign by Budweiser was one of the most successful EVER for the Anheuser-Busch company in terms of name recognition and long-term benefit. Many people to this day still have fond memories of Spuds. ( R.I.P. October 7, 1983 - May 31, 1993 ) www.budweiser.com

Spuds was too iconic to retire. He (or more accurately she) was clearly an original, along with Joe Camel.
And the Taco Bell doggie.
It was a female named Honey Tree Evil Eye. Budweiser retired her in 1989. She died from kidney failure in 1993 at her home in suburban Chicago.

Legend has it that during his prime Spud drunkenly fathered many children. After he was fired from Busdweiser he could no longer afford the child support payments and drank himself into an early grave.
His funeral was said to have over 20 half breed dogs and one very deformed cat.

Here’s something many people don’t know about Spuds. The dog was actually female, not male. Yes I know the adverts and many people associated with Spuds, addressed it as “he”, but the dog that actually portrayed Spuds was actually a “she”.

Pastor Mario Murillo never knew, even cared that Budweiser beer was a major sponsor of the summer and winter Olympics. What most people know is that most animals don't have a human voice.
The "Spuds McKenzie" commercials were both terrific and fun! Funny how "Spuds" was really a female...unlike Dylan Mulvaney. LOL.

kre cut I'm not very knowledgable about them, I'll admit. Still, I have a pug, and they're not exactly known for their pep, yet my dog could run circles around this mutt.
I have a Bull Terrier so I'll be an advocate here.
Bull Terriers are just naturally very dense, VERY derpy dogs. They're strong as hell, in fact, some of the strongest dogs in the entire world when it comes to raw muscle. Their mannerisms, however, aren't really anything less that stupidly adorable. They have a propensity to run in circles when excited, make grunting sounds constantly, stick their long snouts everywhere and generally aren't too bothered by being touched.
They're very charismatic dogs, however. They aren't hard to read in most situations.
They're often referred to as "children in dog suits".
However, something that made me a little uncomfortable in this video was that Spudz was clearly a little nervous from the noise the audience was making. Bullies can be the type to shrivel in overwhelming company, even with other dogs and she was certainly a little anxious here.
I have four BTs and i can tell you exactly why they get that tense. they're quite good at identifying situations and they get when you have to stay friggin still (more often with vets they don't know and with needles even tho they don't even feel the stupid things) and that gets them very tense.
bull terriers can be the calmest dogs and just sit there with you and they can be extremely energetic for no reason. derp dog forsurely. had my boy for 7 years and haven't regretted a single moment :)
