- ♥ In today's video, I react to my subscribers' tattoo designs! After my last video where I paid 6 Fiverr artists to design the same tattoo for me, I got so many requests to let my followers do the same, and here we are! I chose the head placement 'cause I thought it would require some added creativity and it might show you guys some cool designs you wouldn't have seen otherwise. The components I asked them to include were a bird, a skull, and a natural element. All artists are linked below!

I did the design at 15:34, I totally forgot to mention in my email I was doing my take on a tradiational style tattoo morphe. Awesome video! It was a fun project and forced me to complete an artwork for once!

@@valjetah You're right! I had never seen those before, but the two are very similar in shape. It occurs to me, that it was the long tail widowbird, as you said, because of its colors. If it were a quetzal, it would look weird next to green leaves.
The bird at 6:00 is a Quetzal :) It's a pretty rare and tropical bird with beautiful colors, Red and green!
Oh wow, I thought they were a mythical bird from legend lol. Off to look at photos of quetzals now :)
These are all just so cool! What a neat idea for a video! Would love it if you made more videos like this in the future! Great exposure for all these artists!
I'm doing a part two later this week and then I'll try to come up with another take on it. I don't want to do too many where these people need to do all that work just for "exposure". They do deserve to be compensated as well in my opinion. But we'll see what I come up with. This particular one was so highly requested I decided to give it a go. 😊

This definitely makes me want to have a head and neck tattoo 😍😍 I often buzz my hair short so it would be very visible. I already have a small tattoo behind each ear (a rose and a dagger) so I know I can take the pain in the neck. But I’m so afraid of the pain of tattooing on the skull 🙈🙈 I got botox shots to the side of my head and they really hurt 🙈🙈 so I think I have to get a lot braver befor I can do this 😅 and a lot richer too 😅😅

at 7:43 the artist made a fantastic piece but the only critique i have as a fellow artist is that there isnt much contrast between in the elements of the design. perhaps utilizing the negative space more effectively would perhaps make each element stand out more effectively.

How do you do aftercare your tattoo s?
I suggest you look up the Bearded Vulture. They are magnificent birds who eat bones and carry them threw the air and drop them on rocks so the bones break and are small enough to swallow whole. Most birds can hold onto small intricate objects. Birds are my favs and i enjoyed this video a lot!

No, I won't be getting any head tattoos. But yes the hair does grow back over it. 😊
I like the design from 2:40, however i think it would look better if the crow was perched on the part of your ear that connects to the head (i don't know what's it called). With wings folded in and looking to it's left, at the viewer. That way you don't have the problem with the wing stretching over the skull.

About placing tattoos so that they face inwards. I think, but I might be wrong, that it's the same composition principle as illustration and graphic design where you want lines to lead you inward or toward the next element. It's just a guess though. I'd love to hear if someone has experience specifically with tattoo designs :).

Hey guys, I hope someone can help me with this since it's been driving me crazy, English is not my first language and I can't remember this word for the life in me... In 16:19 what is the name of this thing wrapped around the bird on her neck? I know it's quite common in tattoos but I can't google it because I don't know what it's called, I know people usually put words in them?

I liked to your class.
So many lovely designs that unfortunately had beaks poking down by your ear! Artists, you have to think about how that part of her body will look when the rest of the tattoo is covered up by hair or a hat. You won't be able to tell it's a beak if you can't see the rest of the bird, or at least the rest of its head.
I will always remember an early-ish episode of Inkmaster where all season the judges had been really picking on that guy who looks like a tatted up Wil Anderson, (edit, his name was Kyle Dunbar) and really getting into his head, exploiting his anger issues then gaslighting him about it and denying they were singling him out and treating him like a dangerous loose warhead when he finally snapped and got angry. It was really fucked up, even more so because he wasn't the best but he was really good and there were a few people who weren't anywhere near his level who were cruising through the competition.
But there was one criticism the judges made that was sound.
This guy did a cherry blossom tattoo on a girl's ribcage and torso, extending right down along her leg and thigh. It looked like it fit her body really well.
But then the judges pointed out that when her shirt and shorts went back on, all you would see was a big long brown wooden stem on her leg. (To my recollection, they said it looked like a turd but I think that was a bit much). All the beauty and the main part of the design was covered up, leaving only the supporting elements on display and rendering the design unreadable most of the time.
I have always remembered that lesson every time I have considered what kind of tattoo I want, and where.
Tldr, random leaves are gonna look way more attractive and more readable than a disembodied beak.
I want that little yellow me sparrow/skull picture as a sticker! Let me buy!
