My body is 64 yrs + and I feel my colourful tattoo’s haven’t real Sagged so don’t worry about that. Yes, they have faded a bit, but they still look good to me and that’s all that counts. I am still getting tattoo’s. Just got one a couple of months ago and I’m booked to have another in a couple months. I am not covered in tattoo’s in fact I only have Five at the moment. But age has nothing to do with tattoo’s sagging, stretching or looking bad. In fact my first tattoo which is 30 years old looks just as good as it did when I had it done, around my ankle.
I also don't care about the pain when it comes to placement. I just got my knee cap tattooed and EVERYONE immediately commented on how painful it must have been. And yeah it hurt but I just don't care! It is so worth it to have that beautiful artwork there. It just wouldn't look as good anywhere else(in my opinion). Pain is temporary. Tattoos are forever. Get it where you want❤
olivethunderbird you have more Neuro transmitters in your knee than most other working joints in your body, hence the pain you feel when under the knife or needle!
Thank you I want to get mine on the upper part of my arm it's my first tattoo and my cousin tried to convince me to get it on my wrist because it's less painful
I got my first tattoo a few days ago and I already forget the pain and am in the process of booking my next 2 over the next few months. The pain really is temporary. As long as you trust your artist and let them know how you're feeling, you will be ok.
I agree with bony parts hurting less than fleshy parts, that's been my experience. I guess I think about placement when I'm daydreaming new tattoos but when it comes to actually getting them I usually just pick what feels right in the moment.
This is true for me as well I have quite a high pain tolerance so pain isn't something I've ever cared about when getting tattooed. But I have quite a few tattoo's and the only one I can say kinda hurt was the one I got on the under part of my arm. All the "high pain" boney areas like the ribs, collar bone and feet and hands didn't hurt at all.
I do too! I got my ribs done and the actual ribs barely hurt, and then it got to my breast area and its the most painful part of my body I've had tattooed to date. 🤣
I think everyone has a different area that they think hurts most. Personally I think the bone hurts worse. But I know people who don’t think bone hurts
I did the inside of my elbow, which was pretty bad but nothing can beat the inner forearm. I actually cried and it’s my smallest tattoo. Now I find that tight thin skin hurts the most, while fatty/muscle parts don’t hurt at all.

Ultimately I am so happy with it and I’m so glad I chose the placement I did

Not sure why youtube recommended this to me, since I have no tattoos and no definitive plans to get tattoos... But! I watched the whole thing, loved it, and gave me some stuff to think about in case I ever get around to getting some lol.
Yes, I too saw this recommendation, I too have no desire to attain a tattoo, but I know Marketing is put in your face when you search through google, listened to through your devices! I actually did research on tattoo ink a week ago, and then this popped up, no coincidence there! So tattoo ink contains a number of minerals that form nano particles, a lot of these minerals aren’t what our bodies make naturally or contain, China was supplying ink to tattoo artists, these inks were far from “normal” and used on many bodies, apart from these poisons entering your blood stream via your largest bodily organ being your skin, you have no control where these nano particles end up going too. If you choose to remove tattoos in future it is even more damaging, not only to your skin, but once again the uptake of these inks! Hairdressers who used Henna products on clients through the years as well as clients have and are still being treated for non Hodgkin lymphoma, this is a blood cancer that has effected many people in the hair industry! Tattoos can be beautiful art, a skill performed by artists, but one needs to weigh up the potential effects of body art versus body health long term. Going forward I will suggest there will be a new wave of blood cancers from this type of art placed on our bodies, it’s just a matter of time! History and research says so! I’m a wife of a blood cancer survivor, hence my knowledge and research..
to me what hurts more than the tattoo itself is the sitting in the same position for hours. and the artist pressing down on you and putting pressure on you. anybody else feel this way?
For me the most painful part is always pulling off the band-aid like plastic that my tattoo artist uses. I can get tattooed for three hours straight, but pulling off the sticky plastic wrap which lasts for 2 minutes maybe, nah

Tack så mycket för den här videon, den var jättehjälpsam! Jag har funderat länge på min första tatuering och det här gjorde mig säkrare på vad jag vill ha! ^^
Hey Katrin thank you for all of your very honest videos about tattoos and the research you do asking the artists you know etc. Your tips are super helpful! Yesterday I got my whole upper arm tattooed instead of the inner side of my forearm. As you suggest I trusted my tattoo artist who made clear that the motive I wanted would need another position and size. So I asked myself if it was about how big it will be or if I want the main idea represented the best way possible. So I decided to listen to my tattoo artist and focus on what the tattoo will express. Now it's about 3 times bigger but I don't regret anything. It's become so beautiful and detailed and my tattoo artist himself enjoyed creating it so much. It really shows! So thanks for encouraging your subscribers to trust !
I love your view on how tattoos should be placed/chosen. I have a medium sized tattoo on the side of my calf and want to have more tattoos in the future, but just haven't decided what specifically I want or where to put them. Your video has definitely inspired me to think more about what I want and I now urgently want a tattoo again soon!
Hey Katrin, just wanted to say - this is a really well constructed video for me at exactly the right time! Been struggling with placement of a new tattoo - I've got about 60 hours of tattooing work but it's all fairly well "hidden" if I need it to be but I've been unsure whether to make the leap to finish off my sleeve or get the new tattoo somewhere else... thanks for persevering with your video, it's like getting advice from a trusted friend when I watch your videos!
Great video! I have three tattoos and I love them so much, but I would change the placement of all of them... This is really useful! You look gorgeous btw.
I recently just got my tenth tattoo, and I totally agree with you when you say that you should be able to get a tattoo where we want them no matter how much they hurt.
I have an okay pain tolerance and I got my first (and only) tattoo on my forearm. It has a lot of meaning to me and the person who did it did an absolutely amazing job 🥰 I’m so happy I got it
Amazing tips as always! ❤ I just got my first tattoo last week and I gotta say that the fleshier parts was definitely the most painful to be tattooed 😬
Thank you so much for this video, they are some great suggestions and insightful - I have been struggling with deciding where I want mine! And if I may add, the entire video, I couldn't help but be mesmerized by your eyes, you are so so beautiful but your eyes are just something else!!
I wish that I'd seen this video of yours before I started my extensive tattoo journey. I did arrive at many of your suggestions on my own, but I agonized with some of the decisions for weeks or months. Your advice would have removed the extreme anxiety I had about "getting it right".
i can higly agree with everything you said, especially with the aging of your body. for example i have on both of my upper arms this spot left as you have with your arm and i want to get a sword and thought about maybe getting it there. i asked my tattoo artist about her opinion and she told me to not get it there, i should rather get it on my lower arm on the back (right on the bone). cause this placement doesn't bend so much and also if we age (and in most cases it happens a lot to women) the upper arm will get saggy and maybe bigger and then the sword wouldn't be as straight anymore as when freshly tattooed in a younger age. so please ask your tattoo artist for their opinion, they do have some experience with this stuff and (most of them) are willing to help you to get a good tattoo at a good spot for it.
I think it makes a lot of sense to think about the location of other tattoos, either that you already have or plan to get. I got my first tattoo earlier this year on my shoulder in part because I knew I would like the placement with that as my only tattoo, but also that it would have potential to add on down my arm. Now when I think about getting more, I want to get more by the same artist or in a similar style on that arm vs. probably having different styles elsewhere on my body.
My first Tattoo was placed at the whole inside of my Biceps. After 3 hours i had to stop the Session but honestly that was my limit for all my Tattoos. (Only tattooed on one Arm) But if i feel like: "ya that's the place where it's meant to be" it has to be there. Don't care about the pain I love your Videos and your person.
Some really great points in this video. I really rushed into getting my first tattoo and despite at the time desperately wanting it and being thrilled with the placement, now (5 years later) looking back I should have put more thought into where I was getting it. Even though I still like the tattoo, I’d probably love it if it was elsewhere on my body.
Thèse are exactly my thoughts.I want to do a butterfly on my rib as my first tattoo, but I’m wondering if it would look better on my bicep and I can’t decide. Can anyone help and give me some ideas?
Maria S if it’s a design you’ve wanted for a long time your tattooist is always good to speak to since they will most likely know where best to place and size it to suit your body. I still have the same feelings towards my tattoo after six years, though I have no desire to get it removed or covered. Having it hasn’t ruined my life, I have just grown out of it, which is something that can happen to anybody.
Kirsty I don’t have a specific tattooist yet,I’m doing a research.Regarding the design It’s something that I really like but I’m wondering that maybe I want to go withy the flow and I’m not so crazy about the design.Sorry if my English isn’t well but I’m foreigner
When I decided to get my feet tattooed, everyone said I would regret it. I feel like my pain tolerance is pretty decent. I did ask for advice on it. But I wanted it done either way. I got my dogs pawprints done on the tops of my feet so she always walks with me. Most of the tattoo, I did not care and it was extremely tolerable. But there were parts of it I thought I would cry and it was extremely painful. I dont regret i single second of it though. It's my favorite tattoo i have 😁
most of the time I direct people to your channel and other channels for the advice I'm relying about starting tattoos, even if I don't have tattoos yet (but will soon enough). Love, love your channel
So this may just be me, but when I got my first tattoo (a roughly 6x3 inch marigold bouquet above my ankle) I felt like everybody had exaggerated how painful a tattoo is. It worked me up so much that I was literally shaking while signing the forms due to how anxious I was. Right once my artist began I was like “wait wtf?!” cause it didn’t hurt near as bad as I thought it would. Hence why when people ask me if my tattoos hurt to get, I don’t give them a yes or no answer, I describe it like “it feels like a cat scratching you” or “it feels like you scratched sunburn”. It’s a scratchy feeling, not an all out intense debilitating pain. It’s a very exciting experience, not scary or insanely painful. You constantly want to watch it. I remember being so exciting I was actually geeking out because I loved it so much before it was even finished. In my opinion, don’t worry about the pain. Focus on the excitement and how beautiful the piece will be and you’ll enjoy the experience a lot more.
These are really useful tips in my opinion. I personally am similar to you when it comes to pain. I simply don't care. But to be fair, I even find spots that the majority of people find painful, not sensitive at all. Your chest piece is so beautiful, btw. It is one of the most beautiful tattoos I have ever seen and it is for me totally you ( like your trademark).
This feels like a growing experience because I've watched your videos since the incident that brought your sense of uniqueness down, and that was a year ago, and I haven't gotten tattoos then, but a year later, I'm watching this video and I've gotten 3 tattoos that are meaningful to me, and getting a 4th one this coming month! I hope you're doing well, and thank you for this genuine video! I like the haircut, btw. xD I agreed with your haircutting video; hair is hair and it will grow back! The phases of hair that are good are good while it lasts. ^_^
I currently have eight tattoos and am getting ready to get a few more but your opinion on placement was very helpful! And btw I think you are so beautiful! I doubt that you will see this with so many subscribers but I am saying it regardless!
I have several and this is still helpful thank you. I know I always wanted cool leg tattoos like many I've seen.... but 1/ I don't really wear shorts so no one would see it. 2/ I gain weight more often on my legs/thighs and so it would get stretched and potentially warped. Which happened on my ribs. And although I still like my tattoo there (more or less), I do sort of regret getting it there because it has warped the words so much.
So helpful and great to have someone really go over all the things you can/should take into account when getting a tattoo! I'm thinking about getting an inner bicep tattoo of a colored poppy flower, but the ageing is kind of what is holding me back so I am hesitant about getting it there or on my ribs instead. Lovely video, very well-made! :-)
Re the pain: for me, inner bicep is bloody excruciating. Had a massive cover up done last month on my inner bicep and just had a few touch ups. Haven’t felt pain like it. It was worth the pain as the tattoo is beautiful
Thank you for insights. I want to get most of my body tattooed and am sticking with traditional styles with more contemporary colors because I think they are timeless and some have been around for over a 100 years.
So glad I'm not the only one who finds boney parts less painful! my elbow, totally fine. fleshy crook of my arm? painful af and bled so much. Getting a medieval/fantasy arm sleeve done and not looking forward to the inside bicep
I expected the bony part of my ankle to hurt more than my upper leg, but it was the opposite. When I got the tattoo on my upper leg, I nearly fell asleep during the first part. But after we'd taken a break, my skin suddenly decided it hated me and it hurt like hell. Partially because it had had time to swell up and partially because she started coloring in parts that she'd already lined so they were already tender. But it's surprising how easy it is to sit still through the pain. It doesn't take nearly as much discipline as I'd thought.
I’ve started a small collection and i have a very low pain tolerance, my first tattoo i actually got dizzy from it. I’m starting with small line work and have other small ideas that are increased in detail but personally will probably never do anything that takes more than 2-3 hours, even then idk if i can get through. If you’re a baby like me, start small and start simple.
I never done more than 3h. My artist likes to do 2 sessions and it's easier for both of us 😅 I could never do a full day ! I have a big Polynesian piece on my calf and another one around my tight. There is hope for big tattoos even if you can't handle pain for too long !
"My body's gonna sag regardless, so it might as well be colourful when it does" is a great quote.
A relative of mine warned me that my upper arm bracelet will get saggy and ugly as I age and I was like, "same."
I love this quote, I don't worry my tattoos will be that different as I age I just love having them and keep skin moisturised much as can
Yesss 😂😂
My body is 64 yrs + and I feel my colourful tattoo’s haven’t real Sagged so don’t worry about that. Yes, they have faded a bit, but they still look good to me and that’s all that counts.
Unbelievably helpful video....thanks so much! 😊 btw you look gorgeous !
Woah, this video is so well put together, really helpful👏
Glad to hear it! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
This was really helpful! Thank you!
You're amazing, great advice always and you look great as always 🖤
Your hair looks AMAZING ON YOU! best hair you have had im sure
It has a lot of meaning to me and the person who did it did an absolutely amazing job 🥰 I’m so happy I got it
I'm planing on my first tattoo for long time and you're helping me a lot, thank you 💖
hello, Katrin, you look amazing 😍 love your hair and the way you style it!
You are looking absolutely gorgeous! Love your hair style!
You look great, Katrin!❤
Thank you!
Thank-you for sharing this! Also, you are gorgeous 🔥
wow, you hair is growing so quick, well done Kat.
Just the video I needed ! I’m trying to plan out where I would get tattoos and everything dealing with future tattoos so this was very helpful !!
I agree a 100% with your view on pain. I know I have a low pain tolerance and that hasn't stopped me from getting my knee or my sternum tattooed
Great video! Very informative! You're so pretty!
Came for the new hair! Havent watched a video of yours in ages
Hey, I requested this one! Just saw it was posted. Idk if you saw my reply or other people's but thank you for making this!!
Amazing tips as always! ❤ I just got my first tattoo last week and I gotta say that the fleshier parts was definitely the most painful to be tattooed 😬
Thanks so much for this, just what I needed to help me choose where I might get my first tattoo (eek!)
Just in time before I get my first bigger piece in a couple weeks!
PS. You’re looking incredible! 💕
These are definitely good points. thank for sharing!
Btw, which lipsticks are you using? I'm really into your beauty.
i can higly agree with everything you said, especially with the aging of your body. for example i have on both of my upper arms this spot left as you have with your arm and i want to get a sword and thought about maybe getting it there. i asked my tattoo artist about her opinion and she told me to not get it there, i should rather get it on my lower arm on the back (right on the bone). cause this placement doesn't bend so much and also if we age (and in most cases it happens a lot to women) the upper arm will get saggy and maybe bigger and then the sword wouldn't be as straight anymore as when freshly tattooed in a younger age. so please ask your tattoo artist for their opinion, they do have some experience with this stuff and (most of them) are willing to help you to get a good tattoo at a good spot for it.
Also love the tattoo content!
This is amazing advice thanks for the knowledge before I make a decision I may regret!
My first Tattoo was placed at the whole inside of my Biceps. After 3 hours i had to stop the Session but honestly that was my limit for all my Tattoos. (Only tattooed on one Arm)
But if i feel like: "ya that's the place where it's meant to be" it has to be there. Don't care about the pain
I love your Videos and your person.
Thanks for sharing your video. Your makeup looks lovely :)
Im thinking about getting another one soon. Great video
Elizabeth Black this is what I'm so afraid of!
This vid could not have come at a better time for me. Thank! You!❤❤❤
Hope you enjoyed!
It's my favorite tattoo i have 😁
This video was very helpful in my opinion. You have a new sub
Your hair looks so goooood
most of the time I direct people to your channel and other channels for the advice I'm relying about starting tattoos, even if I don't have tattoos yet (but will soon enough). Love, love your channel
Thank you so much!
I liked the topic and info but-side note-your hairlooks really good
So this may just be me, but when I got my first tattoo (a roughly 6x3 inch marigold bouquet above my ankle) I felt like everybody had exaggerated how painful a tattoo is.
I am loving the hair 💙💙
Thank you! :D
The short hair looks amazing on you!
Julie H definitely
These are really useful tips in my opinion. I personally am similar to you when it comes to pain. I simply don't care. But to be fair, I even find spots that the majority of people find painful, not sensitive at all. Your chest piece is so beautiful, btw. It is one of the most beautiful tattoos I have ever seen and it is for me totally you ( like your trademark).
This was RIDICULOUSLY helpful - thank you!!!!!!
Great video! Wonderful advice
Hey what a relevant video - I'm getting my first tattoo this Friday lol! Also you're such a gorgeous human bean??
This feels like a growing experience because I've watched your videos since the incident that brought your sense of uniqueness down, and that was a year ago, and I haven't gotten tattoos then, but a year later, I'm watching this video and I've gotten 3 tattoos that are meaningful to me, and getting a 4th one this coming month! I hope you're doing well, and thank you for this genuine video!
I like the haircut, btw. xD I agreed with your haircutting video; hair is hair and it will grow back! The phases of hair that are good are good while it lasts. ^_^
Unfortunately, it doesn't always grow back for everyone. Such is life.
Thanks this was really helpful
Very useful video! I just got a small tattoo on my ankle and glad I didn't go for a bigger area
It is so nice to have you back here. You are one of the most honest UA-camrs. Thanks for your Videos! Hej från Tyskland ❤️
Thank you for this! I just got my first tattoo about a month ago and I’m already planning for more! What and where!!
Love this Content Katrin. 👌 Also you're so beautiful. 💕
Re the pain: for me, inner bicep is bloody excruciating. Had a massive cover up done last month on my inner bicep and just had a few touch ups. Haven’t felt pain like it. It was worth the pain as the tattoo is beautiful
86 minutes and i sit on my 2nd for my chest peice!! Yeah a great time killer! Thanks for the video
Thank you for insights. I want to get most of my body tattooed and am sticking with traditional styles with more contemporary colors because I think they are timeless and some have been around for over a 100 years.
Super helpful!😊
So glad I'm not the only one who finds boney parts less painful! my elbow, totally fine. fleshy crook of my arm? painful af and bled so much. Getting a medieval/fantasy arm sleeve done and not looking forward to the inside bicep
Your haircut is super cute.
The hair is on fire!!!
Great video! 💕💕💕
I just love your haircut n hair style - super cool n so awesomely confident- wish I cud carry it but hv such wavy curly hair.
Hey girl I love your videos, I think your tattoos are pretty sick hopefully getting one or more ribs soon.
Thank you! Good luck!
love your mothers tattoo!!
