Time to replace your speed sensor and check your dump actuator!

Exact same problem, broken bed shock killed speed sensor. Thank you for sharing!!!
Good video man, worked perfectly for my 2019 Ranger 900 XP that had the exact same thing happen. Instead of purchasing the official OEM Polaris part for over $100, I bought an off brand model for $25 which worked perfectly.
I love UA-cam fixed my problem in five minutes thanks
Thx from Russian driver)
I appreciate this video I've been looking for a solution for a while now. Thank you so much
That’s awesome! Thanks for checking out our channel and enjoy the Ranger!
great video straight to the point. saved me a couple hundred dollars. Your a good man !
That’s fantastic! Just the reason I made the video.
Thank you so much for this video. I had the same thing happen.
I sure appreciate you making this video. On my 2020 Ranger XP 1000 I had the same code pop up. Watched your video and went to look at my speed sensor. Sure enough it was unplugged. Thanks!
Thanks Sam! Very ironic I just walked in from looking at another code related to the temp sensor
Awesome. Feels good to fix your own stuff huh..? Nice farm... Need a ranch hand...? I'd love to move into your guest house and help you...😎
You felt a loss of power when it was messed up?
Yes. Immediate change when I got the new speed sensor installed
did you have any other symptoms other than the eng lite? mine after a few miles and once it gets to opt temp....will start going into limp mode and the temp on the digital read out goes haywire......with go to 209 degrees all the way down to negative 45 degrees! then it clears up......goes good for a lil bit and then does it again. I dont think the machine is actaully over heating tho. its weird.
Yes mine did the same thing. You can also disconnect the sensor and turn the ignition to accessory mode. If your fan immediately comes on it is not likely a problem with your wiring or fuse.
How long does it usually take before the check engine light goes off
Johnny it didn’t go off while I was idling. It turned off within a minute or so. I did read where some folks cleared the code by cycling the ignition 5 or 6 times.
@@yellowdogfarm ok 👌I'll give it a try and thanks
Mine started at 6.5 miles and hasn't quit..On 21 xp4 Highlifter..They have replaced Speed sensor, ECU and Brake pressure switch
I’m sorry to hear that! I’ve had some luck with the Polaris Facebook group. I had several experienced mechanics give advice. Thank goodness for warranties.
@@yellowdogfarm after 3 attempts they have to buy them back and Tuesday will be the 4th so I'm just making them buy it back and I'm going to try another unit
Had the same code, changed the sensor but it didn't fix my problem??
I don’t have any additional advice to share. I had really good help from the Polaris Ranger Forum on Facebook and the Polaris Ranger Club forums. I got responses from Polaris Techs in just one or two days. Sorry It didn’t pan out!
You ever figure out the issue? I'm having the same problem and can't figure it out
@@251suzuki with the ignition switch off, pull the connector for the sensor. Go ahead and turn the ignition to accessory. If the fan immediately kicks on you can rule out wiring as an issue. If the fan doesn't turn on it's time to chase the wiring. If that doesn't work I'd recommend the Ranger Facebook forums. I've had several Polaris techs give really helpful advice there.
@@yellowdogfarm thank you sir
Hello and thank you for the video. I had the same issue where the dump box shock hit my speed sensor cable. My speed sensor is fine but the connector that plugs into it is all cracked. I was able to get it back in enough to read speed again.. my Polaris dealer suggests I need to buy a new wiring harness($1300). I am able to slip the pins out of the cracked connector.. all I need is that $2 piece but can’t find it. Were you able to find this piece or maybe you didn’t need it. Any help would be appreciated!
I’m sorry to hear that! I was really lucky. Only the sensor itself was damaged. Isn’t it crazy that their first answer is just put in a new wire bundle? Our local car dealer did the same thing when I had a corroded cable. I did a quick look online and did not see an option. Sorry I wasn’t much help.
Ours doesn’t have this code checked like i went thru all the modes and nothing
Mine has been in the shop 4 times for same code still keeps going in limp mode.
We just need the clip and the washer to hold this on. Where can I find those parts?
