Had a Flat for 16 wonderful years. A street rescue with a bellyful of worms but turned into a magnificent companion. Didn't even know what a Flat Coat was until someone enlightened me on a walk. When we returned from the walk there was a dog show on and the first one up as I watched was a Flat. I couldn't believe it!
My girl was also a street rescue minus the belly worms. I found her in the wet grass at a little over a month old at 3am. Her mother is a liver flat coat and father a huge golden retriever. Shes now almost 4 years, 80 pounds and has a liver undercoat that pops out during the winter! They are extremely high energy dogs
