Actually being so busy now I'm feeling way more guilt when I spend the little time I do have gaming than I ever did as a teenager or when I was gaming when I was going to college. Having mood swings daily because i sat and gamed for 2 hours when i should have been excercising or reading. Been a real roller coaster with the guilt for the last year.

@@seewaldsja Same hear. My guilt is destroying me. Im not doing what i planned with my time. I have been hanging out with friends and gaming during my weekends. I deactivated my discord and blocked discord just incase i have the urge. So far about 1 week clean from gaming/discord.
I also need to start eating cleaner and exercising.

@@Ken-wf8fo Dude right especially when you're playing a game where you want to grind and you have one hour to grind so you don't get much done but then the hour isnt enough you know to get anything out of it. so the hours basically wasted so you may as well just quit completely and that's what I realized

Well in my case, I think gaming is not bad for me. I think it depends of what kind of game you play with who. If you play violent FPS game with Toxic person in toxic community using your mother language. Maybe you should stop.

Started a coding boot camp and took a break from gaming. I’ve been able to get much more done in my day. Gonna learn how to create content after boot camp is over. Thanks for putting important topics.

I funneled my gaming/ gambling funds for the year of 2022 into an Apollo phantom v2 electric scooter. What a rush going 45 mph on a scooter and a excercise also keeping my posture while going this speed. 2.5k scooter also. My gacha pulls will be nonexistant but maybe i can become fully clean this year. I also quit smoking recently. Even tho i was only smoking 1-2 a day for ahwile. Im at 0 now.

Yo, this video came at the right time. I sold my PS4 a few weeks ago, and I just initialized my Switch so that I can sell it too. Although I still have my gaming laptop, I can now focus on what's important. I'll be learning how to code too, and I want to double down on my Japanese studies and other hobbies. Thank you for keeping me on the path!

Hey Christian, thanks, glad you enjoyed the video. Great work selling your PS4, that's rad. Learning to code and studying a new language are both great replacement activities. Go get em!

One of the big reasons why I wanted to quit gaming is because playing games that are like MMo's would give me the mentality that I want to actively destroyed my life so that I can play games. I actually was jealous of people who were disabled or retired because they had no responsibilities and we're able to just play MMo's all day.

So I identify with having fun and feeling fulfilled after playing something and achieving something in a game. And cons, I don't really apply, maybe I change a bit when playing, knowing it is only a game so I can easily be evil in a game, but that makes me more kind in real life I think, because I can vent negatives through a game.
But again, I am one of the rare cases that plays games extensively for whole life and still has nice friends, family and a partner and no problems with people, health or money. (Yes, I have more hobbies but still gaming is my top one and I am having a blast.)

Usually, the cons far outweigh the pros of gaming. Many of the pros are not meaningful either.
For instance, achieving goals within a game is not really an accomplishment and has no relevance to your life.
If you look at it from the right perspective, you're actually being fooled into thinking you achieved something with minimal effort.
If we keep gaming at it's right place, as just entertainment, it's absolutely not wrong in any way, as long as it's done in moderation.

thanks for commenting and totally agree - it's easy for us to deceive ourselves and think we are accomplishing things but they don't have any actual relevance other than virtual badges.

I'm very disciplined when it comes to quitting harmful things in my life at some point videogames had this impact on my life. I started cycling and boxing as they are a family tradition occupying my time to the point I no longer have issues with occasionally playing. To everyone having serious struggles with them, remember that your mind is your most powerful ally.

Quit games completely 6 months ago. Picked up Golf, and continue to learn Japanese on Duolingo. I’m much happier and more confident. Replace the addiction with healthier activities to stimulate your brain
