Engineer to Heikki: "First of many."
Well that didn´t age well.
that day he had two wins....his first and....his last
That’s not his engineer it’s Ron Dennis
@@spinmeister1245 Damn u are right, didn´t recognize his voice. Makes the conversation even more ironic tho
Last time I checked Heikki still lived so he might still win some races
He forget to say "yoke"
Red bull/Toro Rosso/Alpha Tauri responsible for half of the first time winners in this video.
Gotta hand it to them for producing awesome drivers

we wouldn't have this video if pierre didnt win so good job to him
Same with many of these lists
we would have if carlos or lance won aswell
If Pierre diddnt win Carlos would’ve won lmao then we would have this vid but with carlos
You mean... Good Job Pierre
Magnussen , Hamilton & Leclerc; all 3 incidents contribute to this video being here; Kudos to both Gasly & Sainz Jr. anyway
Gasley's win still feels the sweetest for me, especially considering everything he's been through. It's one way to respond to your critics.

“Heikki Kovalainen wins the Hungarian Grand Prix; his first ever Grand Prix victory. I’m sure there will be plenty more.”
Well...
That'd exaggerated so quick. He wasn't a top-class driver yet he got the talent, might say he was on-par with Mika Salo, in my opinion.
Heikki was 2016 Super GT champion, and has won a race each season since then. 75% of his SuperGT races 2015-now, he's finished in the top 10, with a 25% podium race. Pretty good for a series with no dominant teams.
Ouch

"only mercedes, ferrari or redbull win these days."

Ferrari good joke
Perez: Hold my last years Mercedes
Ferrari 😂

the 4 most recent race winners in f1 are mercedes red bull racing point and alpha tauri (no ferrari)
The best answer to a question is another question:

Engineer: *What did you do?*
bruh
The engineer was giving him credit. “What did *you* do?” (Emphasis)
ahahahahahahha
But it was the best team radio after a win, no doubt about that.

Well winning at 18 years old is a huge achievement
Just as a fun fact: before this bunch, we had 10 first-time race winners between 2001-2008 (Ralf Schumacher, Montoya, Kimi, Fisichella, Alonso, Trulli, Button, Massa, Hamilton and Kubica). So back in that period at least, it took somewhat less time to get to 10. And if we look at the whole 12 and a half seasons between 1996 and the first half of 2008, which is roughly the same amount of time that this video covers, we get a total of 16 first-time winners, adding Villeneuve, Panis, Frentzen, Hakkinen, Irvine and Barrichello to all of the above. So, again, it's slightly more new winners. Also, in that period, we had only 3 seasons (1998, 2002 and 2005) without first timers, and 5 seasons (2010, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2018) in the more recent times.
And just checking, there were 10 new race winners between 1993-2000 as well. So this seems to be a trend, but I did not dare to venture deeper at this moment. :)
Plus, nowodays there are many more races in a season than back then...
So it must be top 20
Nice analysis there. Wonder why that is 🤔
There is also Barrichello in the 01-08 period, no?

It would have been nice to have the list just extend to Robert Kubica. His victory came only 56 days before Heikki Kovalainen's.
Yep something like Honourable mention or something
About the same duration between Kovalainen's & Vettel's 1st victories too I recall? Which is quite a number of 1st time victories in the 2008 season too I think

Well, because someone can be fast but to win a race you need a good car and good team.
How often can you say "Yes" in 10 seconds?
Mark Webber: Yes.
The relationship between Pierre Gasly and his engineer is a beauty. Even when Gasly is doubting himself his engineer is right there to lift his spirits and always cheers him on and supports him. You LOVE to see it
Hard to believe Rosberg went from being a regular underdog (for the most of his career) to a world champion

GASLY and LECLERC are my favorite drivers
same almost
Poor kovalinen, I thought more was going to come from him.
Yeah. I think Finnish media was comparing him to Mika even. I think he was always just the second fiddle and then at the end of his career he ended in Caterham where he didn't stand a chance. He was promising but yeah...wrong teams that always favored the other driver.
we need an updated video with checos win
I was waiting for this. :)
Not gonna lie. I love hearing that accent from Gasly's engineer
1:56 I guess we can all agree now on what Williams is lacking for, some hell of a driver
Legendary stuff this guy got a win😂
Pastor Maldonado had the speed but lacked the consistency but also had a habit of going over the limit.

wow.. 12 years to produce only 10 gp winners..
Yeah...just proves how bad Formula 1 has been over the past decade or so. Hopefully the Americans will make things right in a couple years.
there were many winners in these 12 years but its just showing the most recent first wins.
Actually Kubica also won his first (and only one) in 2008 (Canada), so 11 new winners in 12 years, but yeah it happened before Hungary
Well, 10 new winners yeah. Hamilton, Alonso, Button, Massa, Raikkonen and Barrichello have all won in that period as well.
Wakanda Foreva yeah I think he got that. The point is 12 years and only a handful of first time winners. Considering Gaz’s win was the first non merc, Ferrari or redbull since australian 2013 says a lot about the imbalance of the sport

Does it tell something that we have had only 10 new winners in the last 12 years?
actually 11, if you count Kubica :P
That Indy car is more exciting?
That top teams prefer to keep their lineups same. And most winners are chosen to fill those seats.
Not really, it’s actually quite normal if you got though the history of the sport. Hell we’ve only had 109 different winners... in 70 years...
