If you can't afford big lights, consider shrinking down your actors and set to a small size. Then you can light your scenes with a desk lamp like me.

2 take always from this video. First, the 1200d is brighter than my future!
Second, the 300d and the amaran 200d are waaay closer than I thought in terms of light output which, for the price difference ,make the amaran a suuuuuper good deal for starting creators !

    • @androcci

it doesn't have V-mount Battery input or light weight due to the controller being out in a separate body, it has more control features and effects as well. Also when you put the light up 10 ft you can change settings low on the ground but with the Amaran you cannot do that since the control is on the back of the device. I have the Aputure 300x

You quite literally have one of the best cinematography, videographer channels on the platform. The industry is in decline right now, don’t pay attention to that it will come back to life just keep doing you.

The industry (assuming you meant the Film/TV industry?) is actually booming, it's been crazy busy since July 2020, producers just needed a few months to figure out the whole Covid thing...however UA-camrs, and independent filmmakers who run their own commercial/corporate video companies don't usually work in the industry...they've in a sense created their own industry.

How long does the LED last? and how does the light output/color change over time? when the LED finally goes, is there a way to replace that part of the light, or does one need to throw away the whole light and buy another, instead of replacing a bulb like on a traditional HMI. I just tested almost this situation with my 600D and found it wanting. It is amazing for most any indoor situation (e.g., in cluttered interview situations I can bounce it off of ceilings and walls and get amazing results, even in an otherwise pitch-black room). But when I used it to shoot some interviews out on a deck, it was not quite bright enough (I lived with the results). I would expect the same to be true if filming people indoors against windows. So, I wish I had a 1200d. It is up there on my list of priorities, but I have to review again the specs regarding power draw, as I think, perhaps, it is capable of knocking out a fuse. This is an issue for me because I do interviews in other people's locations (where they work, for example).

To those watching this, please don't emulate the behavior at 3:35
IT'S DANGEROUS & EXPOSURE WILL LEAD TO PERMANENT HEALTH DAMAGE.
You'd be thrown off a film set if you ever did that stunt.
