The other car is on a Vortex XL tuned on e85 @33PSI (DSG). Both are tuned by 5150

Boy do I love these cars. Picked up a 2021 GTi SE DSG. I'm coming from a 2011 GTI 6mt. Loving the DSG. So impressed with what these can do. I think at most I'll just go stage 1

i just bought EQT IS38+ turbo kit on E85 and can't wait and I'm stage 2 E85 right now and let my buddy drive so could see how car is as a passenger and these cars pull hard asf lmao so it a night and day differents when you are just ridding the car

so the RX500 Turbo yielded better results than the Vortex XL? I'm looking to upgrade my turbo but I'm not sure which way to go...the Vortex XL is on my consideration list. Your input would be greatly appreciated.
Depends on your power goals really! I mean the rx500 is a smaller turbo than the XL. Rx500 is pretty fast no doubt though @31PSI dude ran a 7.8 60-130. But that’s essentially maxing out the turbo. The lag woild be worse on the xl but it’s a good turbo and can make more power for sure

Turbo is reliable! Full e85 needed. Had MPI, PM4 & a walbro 450 LPFP

I’m not sure if the vortex brake boosted lol. He was pulling up top for sure
I started brake boosting and I creeped ahead about a half car cause I didnt give it enough brakes. But yeah 28 psi vs 32-33 psi and the XL is definitely a bigger turbo than the RX500 so its got a lot more top end right now haha. Need a RX550 to compare to the XL.

What all for mods fo you have, I have a 2019 Jetta GLI and I qould be ecstatic to have just 300 whp
All you need for 300+ whp is an upgraded front mount intercooler, cold air intake, Downpipe, turbo inlet pipe and a pro tune
OTS Stage 1 and a CAI will get you about 300whp.

I have a love hate relationship with my 2012 beetle turbo.. same motor and transmission as a mk6... I'm fbo ko4 untronic stage 2+ ecu and tcu and I'm at like 330whp.. all that money and I get beat by a stock turbo mk7😂😂🥺🥺

It spools pretty fast for a "big turbo" honestly, it's a little bigger than an Is38, the RX550 is a bit bigger but spools like the Vortex XL which is good. Can't go wrong with either turbo depending on your end goals, my goal was to not push the stock block hard since i'm already at 85k miles on it! Once I get the new tires on though i'm sure we'll have another video coming too hahah
