My husband asked what I was doing I said I'm visiting with my friend Kate in England. That's just how you make me feel like I have a friend in England. We have five grandchildren so I know the fun you're in for when this baby comes. God bless

I’ve only “discovered “ your channel a few months ago, and am being very disciplined about watching in order to-at least until I reach the pandemic era posts. Then perhaps I’ll watch episodes in season (it’s a little disconcerting to get into the holiday spirit six months early!) Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us, and for being a little corner of calm in this crazy world.
I should also mention that my cat is a fan of your channel. She sits on my lap as I knit and watch. She pays attention to you, but really perks up when your feline roommates are on screen.
The waiting.....oh the waiting...when your child is expecting their child....no one can quite prepare us for that moment in time. There truly is nothing quite like it! Wishes for a gentle loving arrival ....your daughters heart as you will see in her eyes when she holds that wee baby. Dear Kate. Have been watching you quite a while but never subscribed yet because my english is not that good. But l am improving with your help. I found your channe because of your quilting videos. Laughed a lot about " the quilting police". I like your friendly art of talking to the cats and about what's "around you". Love to see new sewing videos . Good luck for your daughter, the baby inside and you .
Your kitty bottoms crack me up! Kate, I’m so happy to have found your channel. What a delight! Thank you for sharing your home, knowledge and skills with us. Looking forward to future videos and baby updates! Take care. 💕
So lovely to look back and know that Agnes is on the way, and Norma is with you, enjoying her cuddles! I am thinking that your heroes are the beginning of Agnes’s gorgeous quilt, and the inspiration for my own granddaughter, Ella’s, quilt. Thank you, Kate. Hugs from Canada!
I so enjoy all your videos and I think I will start the hexagons I have a Sizzix machine that is a wonderful helper to sewers and quilters..Congratulations on your upcoming grandbaby! I have three and although they live in three differnt states this technology helps me to be near them . I love your phrase that "´you cant be bothered with cooking´ Ja Ja I am trying to find the proper words to translate them into spanish because that is the exact way I feel when I am working in my tiny sewing cum craft room. Since I have been a widow for 24 years after retirement I inmerse myself in quilting ,sewing, scapbooking and carin with my dog. No time to cook! In Puerto Rico where I live it gets so hot sometimes and its the perfect excuse to not cook Happy Sunday!

You are always fun to watch. I am a retired custom tailor and occasionally I want to listen to interesting things. I live in North Las Vegas. For 30 years I have had an interest in English tailoring. I so love watching you "witter on" as you say. I it like having a nice chat with a friend. I was sitting here knitting dishcloths for our church bazaar while I watched. I was busy this morning preparing the veggies for our dinner. We are having a baked ham, with scalloped potatoes, carrots, green beans, coleslaw and baked acorn squash. It sounds like a lot but the beans needed to be cooked and my mom and I are the only two who like them. She will be celebrating her 90th birthday this week. I am so lucky to have her. Best wishes on your Grandchild's arrival. AIl or your subscribers will be awaiting the news.
LOL I’m glad to finally hear you say you “can’t be bothered” about doing something (cooking). I feel exactly the same way, but I feel lazy. Instead, I’ll try to just thrive on what I love and accept that I just can’t be bothered about some boring things! Your varied and steady stream of creativity is very inspiring! ❤😊
I so enjoyed your video, been frustrated, I have many days.... But I always get things done , love all your videos, and your love of life, family, friends and all you do for others.
Oh, just wait! That baby will be the brightest ray of sunshine in your whole life! I was young and stupid when my own babies were tiny, (I had 8) and was too busy to realize what absolute miracles they were! What a bundle of yummy -ness! Blessings to your family!
I totally understand about no feeling like cooking my meals and I just might experiment with your solution. Let's not call it being lazy because I no longer am a slave to what I used to think I should do. Hugs!
I just love the kitties. As I was watching - and laughing as both cats joined you, my little rescue Rosie decided to sit on my lap. Loved the nice chat! Can't wait to hear that baby is here.
I am enjoy your video and you are a very good teacher special doing the hexies. And I love the quilts you have made. First time learning how to put the binding on the quilt. Thanks,
well, you must have cats, poultry, and quilting on your calendar. What else? Spinning? Paper crafting? Photos of the house and grounds? All sounds great! I hope to get one.
can hardly WAIT for my calendar and Liberty lavender sachet, you emailed they've been posted...I envision them in a car, a truck, an airplane, at the airport ramp, being conveyed into the hold of another plane, landing (hear the tires screech on the tarmac) being loaded into a big semi double-truck-and-trailer, coming up the coast highway to my home. I will plant loads of native flowers as a welcome.
Yeah! When I found your channel I binge watched your videos. I probably watched two years worth in about 2 months. now I feel like I'm on a diet since I only get to see you once a week. I love hearing your chats! I told my husband I was watching/listening to my favorite English lady. I agree with others, you make me feel like I have a friend in you. I save your videos to watch when I know I won't be interrupted by the husband or dogs. I just ordered your book bundle and really look forward to reading them. People are so generous with you because you are so kind and make us feel so good. Sometimes that's hard to come by in our world. Good bye and happy waiting from California.
Hello Kate, It’s lovely to have a surprise chat today. My new grand baby Lincoln is 7 weeks old and such a joy! You will not believe how much love you will have from a grand baby. Can’t wait to meet the new baby! I’m as excited as you are. If you knew someone who could take a drone shot above your house, it would be wonderful to you’re whole cottage from above for the May calendar. I also wanted to give a suggestion while you wait for baby if I may. I took naps in the afternoon while I was waiting for baby because every baby I’ve ever known to be born, decided to come in the wee hours of the night. And you may be sitting around the hospital for a long time waiting. I also hung a complete outfit ready to put on when the time came and packed a bag of snacks. And had it ready to go at a moments notice.I was very grateful I did. Just a suggestion. Sending love and joy your way for you and family.
sandofthesun the nap is a brilliant idea, I have the bags and snacks in the boot of the car, and a list of the last minute things I’ll need by the back door, but the nap is genius! Thank you xxx
Hi Kate, I enjoyed your informal little chat.I hope your wait will not be too long for the birth of your grandchild, and everything goes smoothly with the delivery. Watching your video's are a highlight of my week each and everyone of them. I would love to see a photo of your beautiful old house included in the calendar, or perhaps one of your much loved quilts. Much love from Australia.
Im going to go back to one of your older videos to remind me of how you sew those "hexies" together. I've done all my homework; I am already a patron, I've been subscribed for a while, hit the bell, and liked this video chat. I save your weekly videos for when Im eating my supper, its like eating with a friend. Just received a pkg from you with the little books I did not have yet and the ceramic buttons. Lovely. OHH, a surprise ball, what a tease you are!
Thank you from Texas for a wonderful, friendly chat. You have become our friend. When you make the coverlet for your grandchild, please show in detail how you put it together. I'm interested. Love always.
I enjoy everything you do. I learn from your very relaxing process. Your editing is wonderful. More than videos they are a kind of short films. The cats know... congrats for the upcoming baby!
Hello Kate ~ I just pre-ordered my calendar. We are in the throws of Autumn here in Canada. I am at the park getting my trailer ready for winter. I have watched more Netflix than closing up though. LOL The park cat Midnight has been keeping me company. He is quite good company for me while I am here. Although I think the only reason he comes around is that my trailer is cozy! Take care and I look forward to baby announcement when it happens.
WHAT??? You didn't take pictures??? I just wait with anticipation to see your finished quilts! I'm a fabriholic and a quiltaholic! You help feed my addiction!
Mother Henn ... how wonderful! Oh Mother Nature does have a way of making us wait sometimes doesn’t she? Wishing you and your family a gentle loving arrival when your precious grandchild decides its time to see what’s up out here! 🥰
I'm so excited for your first grandchild. It's such a shame the countries charge duties for gifts coming from other countries. So far here in the US I've not had to pay any when I've ordered items coming direct to me from other countries.. Of course that is subject to change. I know how hard it is to wait when the time gets closer for your little one to arrive. I believe I mentioned before we are expecting another great granddaughter in Feb. I'm awaiting an order of yarn to begin making her some blankets. They live in the southern US and it doesn't get very cold there but babies still need soft and cuddly blankets. I may make some sewn items too. Not sure yet. Haven't been able to sew since my back surgery in July. Having too much trouble with my left foot and leg. Bad. Sciatica and neuropathy effecting my right foot causing numbness and pain. So, I've got to just try and see how it goes. Lol always something. Can't wait to see your baby sewing video tomorrow.
Dear Kate as I watched this and you chat about not being bothered, I'm reminded of the female British comedian who did the skit with Tony Blair all about being bothered. "look at my fave. Do I look bothered?" I too can't be bothered to cook. The millenials say, " I can't be asked I just can't!'. Love from Canada. Judith
What exciting Kate, your first grandchild. I am sure you will be a wonderful grandmother for the little one. Teaching and playing, telling stories and learn everything about the garden and the animals. What a bliss.
I am just thrilled to see a new post! I spent most of the evening watching all the older ones! I just can’t get enough! So make more, make more soon. I know it takes time! My very best to you and your family!
The Last Homely House East of the Sea wonderful! I don’t mean to sound pushy or ungrateful but I get so much pleasure watching. Very best to you, Kate and kitties! Oh by the way, I live about 60 miles from Hercules candies!
Seeing your work in progress on a recent video post has inspired me to make a hexagon quilt myself. I have a lot of waiting time while my husband is in medical appointments so this seems like the perfect project. Thanks for inspiring me to fill my time with busy work instead of just scrolling on the phone. I listen to your videos while I make the hexies.
I love your down to earth way. Nothing contrived. Congratulations. A baby! Oh lucky child with a crafty granny such as yourself. What fun times there will be.
Good afternoon Kate, I enjoyed my visit with you today. As for your page in the calendar, why not show some seeds that can be planted in that month and then maybe plant them with us and show the results, love as always from one Lancashire Lass to another x. P.S could you tell me what editing software you use as I am struggling to get my videos out, thanks Mandy
Nothing nicer than sitting here crocheting some motifs and watching/ listening along. All of your plans sound so exciting. I was fascinated by the cutting machine for paper pieced patchwork. I'll have a look for one of those. The calendar sounds great too so could I register an interest? Thank you x
I hope all goes well with the birth of your grandchild Kate, 💗👶👍👨👩👧 🌼🐈 your channel calms my nerves! I have recently been sacked from my job (will go at the end of december 😞) because I now have a breathing problem. I would like to sell ceramic jewellery on Etsy next year....and you've inspired me to sell quilts online too, if you have any tips about that I would be so grateful to learn. 💟🌷🌻🌼 love your channel!.
Hi Kate! I love your channel. For the month of May on your calendar I would love to see it with lots of green as the grass begins to grow as well as some Lilly of the valley. I hope your grandbaby arrives very soon. I spent the day yesterday with my granddaughter who just turned 2. What a delight!
Waiting is nerve wrecking. You can't do anything about it. God Bless I know how you feel about cooking. I will be 78 Oct 25th, getting up there, I was making some smoothies, but with what you have in there I would not make. I do spinach and avocado, and fruit, but I don't like to cook, but my husbands needs to eat. Ugh! A pain at times.
Love your chats Kate, I have had the joy of welcoming 2 Grand children into the world this year. One of them lives with us and it is just delightful to share in those precious moments and so heart warming to see our two sons in the role of proud dads. We have a granddaughter and a grandson and our lives have been enriched so much.
Kate I’m just the same some days of not wanting to cook & make a smoothie! Living in east anglia we had the wettest day giving over 2” of rain falling between 8am & 3 pm ( my friend has inherited a Stevenson weather gauge ) & gives an update on our early morning dog walk . I had a meet up in Norwich with a group knitting 🧶 ladies with the lovely Ellie from craft house magic what a great way to spend a wet Sunday
Thanks for the updates and clarifications - very helpful. As to the calendar, my first thought, not too creative, April showers bring May flowers. I do love my calendar! I am continuing to send good thoughts and prayers your way for all as you await the arrival of The Child. I am plotting my next juice. Thanks for the inspiration!!
Hi Kate. These chat videos are among my favorite of yours. Regarding your question about the May page on the calendar--when I think of May, I right away think of flowers. I'm very excited for you about the impending arrival of your first grandchild, hoping she won't arrive too much later than expected.
Congratulations on your upcoming Grandbaby. I don't know how you can stand waiting at home. I was always right there. But still waiting is Hard. They are such a Blessing. Your Rita reminds me of a cat we had for 16yrs..I always enjoy watching you. Can't wait to see your next video when the baby is here
Today is my Moms birthday ( in heaven) so this is a lovely time of year for a birthday. I can’t wait to see the new little one. I would love to see random photos of your home, farm, animals, the town in a calender. Your area of the world is so beautiful ❤️
Lovely to watch Kate. I'm relaxed when I watch you. I am interested in all of your activities and chats. I enjoyed your drawer tidying it was quite nostalgic when you found surprising items. Just lovely. Thank you.
Such a nice chat! I find that we have so much in common - I love making hexie quilts - love hand stitching - I collect interesting things - love to make a large number of the same thing at one time - we are waiting for a new grandbaby (though not nearly as soon as yours) and many more similarities. I've watched about all of your back videos and enjoy every single one of them. Looking forward to more sewing for baby. Thank you for sharing with us.
Regarding your calendar - I am a Scottish girl now living in Canada and I do miss the bluebell woods and also baby lambs - I think either would be appropriate for May!
Hi Kate. I love sewing hexagons. I’m currently sewing 1 and a quarter inch hexies for a bed quilt using up scraps. I’m also sewing 3/4 inch hexies from smaller scraps for a bag and a cushion. Finally I’ve started doing half inch hexies using up even smaller scraps but not yet decided what to do with those. That size is my limit. Eyes and fingers can’t cope with anything smaller. I’m trying to get as much as possible out of my scraps. Xx
Fun..I have a really old dark calico kitty. She looks so much like yours. Her name is Maizie. She is heading on to 18 yrs old. Nice chat. Happy grandbaby and congrats.
I think many people watch on a Roku or Fire Stick which won't really let you get to the links. I do try to go back to channels I like on my iPad and do the subscription and/or like buttons.
Waiting for babies takes long! I remember waiting or my niece and nephew. Loved your Sunday witter. May is my birthday month, and I used to get Lilac blooms from my neighbors garden every year. These days the Lilacs have long bloomed when its my birthday, but they’re forever associated with may for me.
In May - at least here in Utah at higher altitude - it is too early to do much gardening outdoors, but I think all of us can't wait till it's safe to put out plants and lawn chairs and such after a long winter. So it might be nice to see your Spring gardening photos ... or Eileen ... or the chickens. They make me smile!
I’m watching this in 2024 (because I subscribed this year I wanted to know you better and went back on your videos) and I realized it is 2019 and COVID getting there in a few months, so I wandered if everything went right with your daughter’s bakery…
Hi Kate, You will love being a grandma! It is a love so special, and worth the wait. I will definitely plan to order one of your calendars when they are available. Your chats are so heartwarming....just love them.
How exciting grand baby hopefully arrived by the time you get this message. I wish your daughter and baby well. And Congratulations Grandmum! 💐🎉 Hello Norma! 🐈💕
Loved your video, I watched it last night on the TV. Love the gorgeous cats. Lets hope you don't have to wait too long for your grandchild's arrival xx I understand the cooking thing, I'm also on my own now and really can't be bothered a lot of the time. I make my own Winter soup and that keeps me going for a while. But we are in Spring now and the day's are warming up so your smoothie could be the answer. Hugs Avril xx 💖
Norma is looking better. Her coat seems thicker and shinier. I love that your cats take over the show...such a catlike thing to do...I never tire of seeing Norma's rump. I am looking forward to the new calendar!
I always think of May as the start of the warm weather, flowers blooming and the vegetable garden starting to look less like a dead brown patch of dirt and weeds so maybe a photo depicting everything bursting into life after the winter or a beautiful sunrise over the reservoir....I wasn't much help really was I? Xxxxxxxxxx
I'm a little late getting to this. But such a wonderful Sunday visit with you. I feel like we could sit and sew, craft, or knit and spend an entire day in pleasant lovely conversation. Will you be attending the birthing of your grandchild? My mom ended up assisting my midwife because there wasn't time for her assistant to arrive in time. I am so excited for you! And I love watching all of your projects. Sending much love! 💝
Kate I just adore your cats. I have hand made a couple of hexagon quilts. Although never have used the paper pieces. Haven't done much sewing as no place to set up my machine. Am handicapped and don't go shopping anymore. Also just trying to thread a needle is just about impossible. Can't get thread through eye of needle. Really enjoy your channel.
I love that I happened upon this video at the start of your quilt for Agnes with all the hexagons!
My husband asked what I was doing I said I'm visiting with my friend Kate in England. That's just how you make me feel like I have a friend in England. We have five grandchildren so I know the fun you're in for when this baby comes. God bless
Yolanda Flower I agree with you Yolanda . 😃😃
I feel the same way . Like i known her forever. I love listening and learning with Kate. I have never made a quilt before but Kate. Is making me feel i want to make this Hectagon in those colors ..but wouldnt know how much of each color to get for a queen size

I should also add that my husband enjoys your videos as well. He is a HUGE Tolkien fan, so you had him at “The Last Homely House”.

Enjoyed our chat Kate thank you. Hope the baby isn't too much longer cooking, we can't wait to meet her.
Thank you Kate for another wonderful video hope you hear about your grandchild soon love hearing chats
Always a pleasant
morning ...coffee and Kate.
I make a mix of spinach, peanut butter, hemp powder and frozen banana chunks. Then use coconut water and blend. Almost the same as you.
Forgot but sometimes i use almonds, but the hemp from the health food store has a lot of protein in it.
My comments aren’t as timely as I’m new to. Your channel and am catching up, enjoying each episode i come upon
So funny I am making hexagon quilts for my great grandchildren too. They won't get them till next year some time but that's okay

Pattie A. Dunlap I will! Xxxxx
It’s cold and snowy here this winter morning. I’m enjoying listening to you this morning and stitching along with you. Keep Smiling
I enjoy everything you do. I learn from your very relaxing process. Your editing is wonderful. More than videos they are a kind of short films. The cats know... congrats for the upcoming baby!
Congrats, Grandma! I have 4 grands ages 26, 21,18,8
Hello Kate
~ I just pre-ordered my calendar.
Oh Kate, I am waiting, too. My grandchild is 2 days overdue!
We have to be patient - nature will take its course! xxxxx love to you and to me! xxxx
Mother Henn ... how wonderful!
Oh Mother Nature does have a way of making us wait sometimes doesn’t she?
Wishing you and your family a gentle loving arrival when your precious grandchild decides its time to see what’s up out here! 🥰
My daughter-in-law will be induced tomorrow. I can't wait to meet this precious baby!
Mother Henn will be thinking of you & family. Sending positive kind thoughts and wishes for you all. 🦋
@@AlwaysAlways2x thank you. Baby boy Leo born this morning. All are well.
Cdees57 oh dear, bodies just go wrong now and then, I have a problem left foot! It’s annoying! Take care and be happy 😊
Judith
Hi Kate. So glad all's well.
What exciting Kate, your first grandchild.
I am sure you will be a wonderful grandmother for the little one. Teaching and playing, telling stories and learn everything about the garden and the animals.
What a bliss.
How delightful to see kitties and to hear your tidbits of news. Have missed this enormously. So happy that grandbaby is almost here. Lucky you!
I am just thrilled to see a new post! I spent most of the evening watching all the older ones! I just can’t get enough! So make more, make more soon. I know it takes time! My very best to you and your family!
well uni have another one scheduled for tomorrow! xxx
The Last Homely House East of the Sea wonderful! I don’t mean to sound pushy or ungrateful but I get so much pleasure watching. Very best to you, Kate and kitties! Oh by the way, I live about 60 miles from Hercules candies!
Loved this video, while I make curtains 💓
Yesterday was my 64th birthday Kate, I was watching you today. Oct 7th. Just waiting to here when your granddaughter is here.I love your chats!
Love your show. Thanks.
Pictures of your garden or spring flowers in the area or your pottery creations, or Eileen swimming or Rocky. Loved your chat.
Debbie Daniels thank you - great suggestions! Xxx
I think people send you things as a thankyou for your delightful UA-cam videos . We love hearing about your day and cats, hens and Eileen xx
For May use a picture of your new commission quilt
Your hand looks a lot better. Hope it feels better as well.
Glyndeen Schiavoni thank you! If you watch the sewing for baby videos you’ll see I’m still stung! I recorded these videos a while ago! Xxxx
I love your glasses! Always enjoy your videos. I know how you feel about becoming a grandmother. There is nothing like it.
Yes, yes this is like visiting a friend I just met. So many have been with you Forever. I have a lot of catching up. Lucky me!
The Child! I'm looking forward to learning her name! xxx
Your area of the world is so beautiful ❤️
thank you Nanci - memories of you mum today - sending Love for that xxx
i collect children books. i just had my first granbaby in june. what a joy to have a friend like you
Lovely to watch Kate. I'm relaxed when I watch you. I am interested in all of your activities and chats. I enjoyed your drawer tidying it was quite nostalgic when you found surprising items. Just lovely. Thank you.
You already feel like a dear friend! Congrats on your new grand baby soon!
JoAnn Bayne we are Kindred Spirits for sure 😃🤗😃
Regarding your calendar - I am a Scottish girl now living in Canada and I do miss the bluebell woods and also baby lambs - I think either would be appropriate for May!
G S R nice ideas! Xxxxx
Xx
Pamela Crow half inch - wow! I won’t go smaller than one inch! That’s dedication to using scraps! Xxxx
Finding your chats delightful! Your English paper piecing is great.
Hi Kate missed you. Idea for the calendar...twilight photo of the lake maybe with the moon in the shot.
nice idea - I have a lovely full moon picture ......... xxx
Hi Kate,
You will love being a grandma! It is a love so special, and worth the wait.
I will definitely plan to order one of your calendars when they are available. Your chats are so heartwarming....just love them.
Calendar. April Showers bring May Flowers! Love u Kate😘
How exciting grand baby hopefully arrived by the time you get this message. I wish your daughter and baby well. And Congratulations Grandmum! 💐🎉 Hello Norma! 🐈💕
Hi Kate....would love to see how you make the blanket for baby grandchild. Hope the time passes quickly and your bundle of light arrives soon xo
Candace Nagle I’m not sure it’s her best angle! Xxxxxxx
Thanks for allowing me to wait with you for this blessed grandchild!
Your encouraging me to start a hexagon patchwork, I haven’t done it for over 50 years. Thank you Kate and for all your videos.
Everything people say about becoming a grandparent is true. So pleased for you, get ready to fall in love with a tiny miracle!
Mabel Conner take care xxxxc
Hello there kate, thanks for another lovely video.
thank you - it felt like a good thing to chat while I wait for the phone to ring! xxxx
Ooh - wouldn't it be lovely to have a squizzy session with you at the pressies you receive. Thanks for the chatty session once again.
