After the awesome feedback to my recent iD slumber sessions mix, I decided to put together a collection of some of my ambient tracks, made from various field recordings collected over the last 10 years..

This album has been a light for me in many dark places for many years now

“The album title is my polite way of saying we live in a world of bullshit and bullshitters. Essentially I feel we all live in a constant lie, whether it be our Facebook profile pictures, the need to present our lives as perfect, with good looking partners, intelligent children, the perfect job etc. People feel the need to present their situations as being something they're not. We all suffer. We all have setbacks and difficulties, but we live in a world where people always want to pretend everything is fine. I feel that the music provides a chance to pause and escape the illusion of the everyday lie we present not only to the world but also ourselves. One of the most important things I did was embrace the ultimate pointlessness of all our existences in the grand scheme of the universe. I still believe that we should make the most of our time here and lead positive lives and be nice human beings, but I do find it funny that we as a species think we matter, when really we don't. So I guess it's my way of saying nothing really matters, stop pretending everything is perfect, and let go of this collective lie and just take some time to chill the fuck out. I want the album to be an escape from everyday lives. I want it to be a soundtrack for people to let go.”

So beautifully worded. I so so resonate... At time's it can be so lonely in this weird world we live in.. And I'm so so grateful for the wonderful souls that create music! Music truly has always been my saviour! Phaeleh is amongst my absolute "go to. He moves me so deep in my soul.. And upon hearing his sentiments.. I have even more love and respect! Nothing but love! 🙏😘

this is worth all the money you gave me the choice to pay.... thank you, a lot of artists could take note from the way you conduct yourself.
I meditated last night, while listening to this album + whatching the Perseides shower. It was such an amazing experience. The sounds & frequencies on this album are so stimulating and yet soothing, calming, leading to a trance-like state, allowing for a deeper connection with yourself, to other people, to the energies around us, and to the collective consciousness :). I wasn't just looking at the night's sky. Oh no :) it was as if the whole Universe opened up and was watching down, watching me, filling me up with such warmth and love, oh I can't even put it into words...Phaeleh, your music was a true catalyst on which I am thankful beyond words.... :)

How exactly does one "meditate"?
Man... Every time I listen to your new tracks I back to the times when I found you on the UA-cam. It was like a journey to the new world, something that beautiful that I can't even desribe it perfectly. Only one thing I know is that you still have a great taste and sense of composing music! You still got your personal and unmistakeable style, and when the others make that kind of music to be more hipster/more cool, you are just yourself. This is your passion, I think. I am amazed that there is an artist which hits my music preferences with 100% accuracy. Looking forward for more tracks, and keep up the great work! I'd like to meet you somewhere, somehow, and just give you a high-five - you must be a great man with great personality in a real life! :)

I have been listening to electronic music since the time of Cafe del Mar, Simon Posford and his Spongle etc., you are definitely standing in this row and I think, even next to Hans Zimmer. Your Orbit video soundtrack is 10 out of 10. Full match of picture and sound. Infinity and frightening depth.

11:45 - is like looking at the night sky imagining the unbelievable scale and feeling really insignificant but being elated with this fact. A weird mix of emotions I'll grant you but much required in the current times.
this is good ambient...reminds me of Cell...anyone heard it? Another great artist representing dark alley of AMBIENT
Man, this album is the best. Listen to this every time I process my images of the night sky.

I'm into ambient big time, but - although I own quite a few Phaeleh albums, wasn't aware of this one at all.........Nice find!
Glad you're liking it. If you haven't heard it before, my favourite ambient release is 'Illusion of the Tale', so if you're liking Somnus, you'll probably enjoy that one too!

Funny you should say that, I just bought illusion of the tale Album by Phealeh (great album) and when I first listened to it, it reminded me and took me back to around 1998 when I was about 16 and 2 of my friends used to buy and listen to Movie Soundtracks . At first I was like wtf? I didn’t even know you could buy movie soundtracks but I really enjoyed listening to them with my friends. And yes, It would be great if Phaeleh was to make a soundtrack for a space Movie. Maybe 1 day.

Breathtakingly beautiful
just quick flick through and it's already hitting the same notes as some of the classic ambient i love and also the Phaeleh releases i am already sold on. Just needs to available on cd or vinyl now because you can't really value a bit of replicated code in the long run.
I just entertained a thought of dropping lsd and listening to this set. It works on me now I can't imagine what would happen.

Hey Phaeleh. Massive massive fan. I have a question about this album. Was it made with a purpose in mind? I have used this Album as an aid for some 'activities' and it is just the most incredible thing. Three simply takes you to another world. Those 'activities' being Damn Mega Trippy in nature
Thanks so much Dan! I didn't really have a purpose in mind, but it was made at a time where I was very close to just sacking off music, so it was really just an escape for me inbetween working on the other music that I wasn't really feeling at the time!

such a shame not making really any dubstep anymore, the level of production ith the ambient twist to dubstep this guy brought was so good, now hes just making ambient albums that put you to sleep, all this shit needs rhythm and music to it in my opinion

@djfrantic ah, if you take the time to look, you’ll see that Phaeleh still makes incredible Dubstep. He never stopped. Just branched out created some ambiance music. Check out his Upcoming Album, A New Day. Release in January. It’s absolutely incredible. Also check out Lost Time Album. I think you’ll really enjoy them.

This album is hard to explain.
Every track takes me to places… in memories, experiences and feelings. Reflection of the past, dreams of the future and the stillness of the present.
It’s a weird trip, sometimes it’s really heavy, but it’s good.
He released this 9 years ago, free, I was homeless, in a tent, alone in a swamp, it was a scary time, I listened to it every night to get to sleep.

Great, but not Phaeleh-great in my opinion...The thing I love the most from Phaeleh is the drums, and the bass, not much of those in here. But never mind, it's probably just my personal taste. :D
I love ambient music and love you phaeleh but this is rather bland. Slumber sessions mix is much better.
